As I looked around the department store, I tried my best not to be seen.

(What is he doing here?)

Walking through the store, I spotted a familiar set of pink hair in the distance with a store clerk.

"Hey, aren't you too close to him?"

As Teruhashi watched, she couldn't help but want to pounce on the clerk. Just seeing Saiki measured by someone else upset her greatly.

(Why am I getting so mad?)

She asked herself softly. It felt as if her favorite toy was being used without her permission.

She stood among the clothes racks, watching Saiki try on different outfits. But no matter what she saw, her fingernails ached, as if breaking.

She wanted to be the one helping Saiki change, not this random clerk.

"Saiki-kun, why can't you be mine and mine alone? Am I not good enough? Does he hate me?"

As Teruhashi questioned why she couldn't make him fall in love, Saiki and the clerk moved toward the dressing room.

Teruhashi felt a surge of heat rise in her blood. Soon, it would overflow.

The clerk had no business in there with Saiki. If anything, it should be her.

Maybe once Saiki leaves the dressing room… I should kill her.

No… maybe I'll just make her life miserable first.

She was talking to herself, planning how to handle the clerk.

After a while, Saiki and the clerk emerged, both looking frustrated. This was unusual—Saiki always kept his emotions in check.

Sometime later, Saiki tripped, falling onto the clerk, pushing her down, and somehow ending up under her skirt.

Saiki had developed a streak of misfortune—some called it the "Yuuki Rito Disease" in fan circles. This wouldn't be the last time.

(Dammit, stop doing whatever the plot needs. –Saiki)

As Saiki tried to get up and help the clerk, she fell onto his face instead.

Hearing the crash, Teruhashi snapped out of her daydream. Pissed, she realized her limit had been reached.

She felt like a wild rabid dog, ready to strike.

Death sentence? No… she deserves a life full of self-hatred and despair. I'll make her pay in the most painful way possible. Maybe I'll do it myself…

Teruhashi approached, temper ready to tip over.

"Excuse me, can I get some help?" she said gently.

The clerk's face turned pale. Anyone seeing this would get the wrong impression.

Her assumption was correct, but nothing she said would stop Teruhashi now.

"I-I'm sorry, let me help you."

As the clerk got up, she let out a small moan.

It was convenient that only Saiki and Teruhashi were in the store. Otherwise, she might have been fired.

The clerk hurried to help Saiki, who was somehow still unconscious, to the dressing room.

She had no idea of the pain she was about to experience… pain unimaginable.

Saiki POV

As Saiki got up, he felt a warm hand stroking his hair.

(Weird… aren't they supposed to know I can read their thoughts?)

"Saiki, you're finally awake."

Teruhashi's voice made him feel a strange tingly sensation. Of course, since it was just her, he ignored it.

(Huh… are my psychic powers gone? Also… where's the clerk?)

As Saiki got up, he thanked Teruhashi for helping him, but somehow ended up back on her lap.

"Saiki-kun, you pushed yourself… you hit your head hard. Are you okay? Do you need to see a doctor?" she asked, worriedly.

(Am I sure I'm the one who hit my head?)

Looking at Teruhashi, he couldn't tell if she was truly worried or teasing him. Either way, her lap pillow was too comfortable, and he fell back asleep.

(She seems nicer today.)

Teruhashi gently placed Saiki's head off her thighs and entered the dressing room.

"So… what should I do?"

Inside, a brunette woman with her hair in a bun was there. Pale, but her past beauty was still visible.

It was the now-dead store clerk. When Saiki fainted, Teruhashi had led her into a room and strangled her with a bra strap—which worked surprisingly well.

(Maybe bra straps should be considered lethal weapons… hehehe.)

Teruhashi dragged the body out the back door of the department store and placed it in a trash bag in the dumpster behind the alley.

"Muggings happen a lot here," she said, smiling as she placed the body next to the trash.

"How nice… a family reunion."

With that, she walked away into the darkness.
