Synopsis
Would you be happy if you received a system? But how about a system you couldn't use? Ed who has a system but it doesn't have any use aside for sign in was living a normal life forgetting about isekai fantasy. Nearing the end of his college life as he has only one year left. But God has other plans and with the wishing pokemon, Jirachi, instead of graduating in college the one he graduated to was his life in his past world. Now reincarnating in the pokemon world and taking challenges along the way and learning the mystery of the new world he was in. _-_-_-_ Hello, This novel was my rewrite of the first novel I wrote, well maybe when I was in my senior years, 2016, turning it into my diary with my pokemon fantasy I was hoping maybe if I wrote a fanfic of my favorite show maybe I will be Isekai'd to it. I wrote this fanfic when the newest game was sun and moon, also the last pokemon game I got to play. Now with new regions and series such as Galar and Paldea I'm trying to integrate it with the story so the rewrite. Well I'm sorry but I'm not a writer I'm just doing it for myself.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 01- Useless System

The familiar blue screen flickered into existence before Ed's eyes, a solitary window into a world only he could see. "Yes," he murmured, a silent answer to the daily prompt. The giant wheel spun, its ethereal glow illuminating the bus interior, though no one else seemed to notice. It landed on "Hold items," then twirled again.

A flash of light. "Congratulations! You have received a Heracronite."

A genuine, unburdened smile touched Ed's lips. A Mega Stone! This was genuinely rare, outside the predictable cadence of his monthly or yearly rewards. "I'm really lucky today," he thought, a wave of pleasant surprise washing over him. The morning had started with an unexpected cancellation of classes due to an emergency faculty meeting. Lunch had brought another stroke of luck: free food for him and all his friends. He patted his still-full stomach, a wistful thought of takeout briefly crossing his mind.

But then, the system's glow became a bitter reminder. His "golden finger"—the supposed cheat, the fantastical boon of every protagonist in games and manhuas—was a complete dud. He couldn't claim a single item. Not even a simple "fresh water," which was literally just mineral water here, or "leftovers," described as an apple core remains which is only useful to Pokémon. He kept logging in, day after day for nearly five years, hoping beyond hope to retrieve something, even a shard.

He ranted internally, reading the useless descriptions again. They were nothing like their game counterparts. This "fresh water" wasn't a potion; it was just a bottled mineral drink. The "leftovers" were simply an apple. Was this the system's revenge for that drunken night, years ago, when he'd disregarded it as a hallucination? He'd only had one glass, but the memory was hazy.

If he wasn't going to be transported to the Pokémon world, or even get usable items, why not a system that could help him in his actual life? With his academics, for instance? He'd dreamed of being Isekai'd since childhood, overjoyed when this system first appeared, a fan who'd bought every game, watched every anime. Only to be utterly, brutally disappointed.

The system was a beacon of hope, but also a daily torment. 1,819 days. Almost five years of logging in. Five years of senior high and college hardships, successes, failures. The breakdown that forced a course shift. The fear he'd overcome. Losing loved ones. Nearly dying from sickness. These challenges, these raw experiences, had anchored him to his current life in Davao City. He no longer yearned for another dimension; he wanted to live and thrive here.

What was the point of overcoming all that, if he still wanted to escape?

It wasn't that he was unhappy with the system entirely. His collector's spirit, deeply rooted in his Pokémon fandom, found a strange satisfaction in collecting every item, even if they were just digital ghosts. No Pokémon here, just items. His first prize, an Anorith fossil, had ignited a brief, fleeting joy, quickly extinguished by the realization he couldn't use it. He'd even tried to find a use for it in the games, to no avail.

Days blurred. Poké Balls, Premier Balls, Luxury Balls, Ultra Balls, Rare Candies, evolutionary stones, even a Master Ball after 30 consecutive days. The collection grew, a monument to his futile hope. He'd always held onto the idea of "dungeons" or "sky cracks" appearing, like in the novels he read, bringing Pokémon into his world. But now, in his second year of college, soon to be third, the world remained stubbornly normal.

Forget Pokémon. A cultivation cheat, maybe powers from Lord of the Mysteries—with no side effects, please! That would be better.

No! I'm happy to receive this golden finger, but why can't I use it?!

Ugh, never mind. Market cases are almost due.

"Hey, Ed!"

The voice cut through his thoughts. He looked up. It was his friend, standing beside him.

"Yes?"

"Are you going home?"

"Well, yeah, why?"

"They're going to the coffee shop for a group study. But I'm heading home; it's already late. How about you?" his friend asked.

"Sigh, it can't be helped. Besides, are you sure you're really going to a coffee shop? I doubt it."

"No, you're wrong this time! We're actually going to a coffee shop. Or rather, a Cat Cafe."

"What! A Cat Cafe?! Why didn't I hear of it?" Ed blurted out, surprised.

"It just opened recently. Not very popular yet."

"What's not popular? It's a place full of lovable cats!"

"Well, you know how it is. Most students prefer to show off going to a bar rather than a cat cafe. This outing was supposed to be just for our friends, but I'm sure dozens of students are already there."

"Ugh… Damn, why do I always have zero luck!" Ed cursed, remembering his looming assignments.

"Why?" his friend asked.

"I need to go home. It's my mom's birthday tomorrow, and I also need to rush my case study."

"Oh, come on, bro, you really don't have luck, do you? Tomorrow was supposed to be our day off, and you can't join us. Oh well, family first. Good luck, bro!"

"Well… yeah, thanks, you too. Why does that sound like you're implying something, like a curse?"

"Are you crazy?"

"Hahahaha… Bye."

"Goodbye."

Ed grumbled to himself on the bus ride home. "Damn it! Bad luck! Why doesn't my phone have any battery left!" The screen flickered, showing 2%. He sighed, watching the city lights of Davao pass by. Bored of the familiar view, he turned his attention back to his system inventory. He wanted to daydream, to lose himself in fantasy, but all he could think about were the upcoming tests and projects.

Evolution stones could help certain pokemons evolve. It was different from mega stones because even though mega stones could help pokemon mega evolve it was just temporary.

Watching his inventory he only smiles as he wants to achieve collecting all the mega evolution stones and Z crystals even though he can't use them.

Hmm.. Now that I think of it there are two stones for Charizard but I can't even get one. Also for the long time that I have signed in I didn't get some key items such as a bike or a rod but I got a keystone well I couldn't use them anyways. But I want to try those berries. Well not that I could eat them. Speaking of eating, I really want to taste Casteliacone and moomoo milk but I can't take it away from the inventory. Damn, even fresh water can't be taken.

As he reached his stop and got off the bus, a shining blinking light floating above got his attention.

Ed turns all his focus to the light as it forms a figure.

'Tha, That figure, that star figure'

His mind went short circuited as he shouted

"Jirachi!!"
