Synopsis
The Emperor had issued an official decree to appoint a successor to the throne—one who would become the next ruler of the empire. But instead of a direct appointment, the successor would be determined through a formal battle among the princes and princesses. A battle that would drag in many factions, overflow with conspiracies, claim countless lives, and reshape the entire continent... was about to begin. But among the contenders, there was one prince who had no intention of fighting—Nolan. Handsome, lazy, and utterly annoying, Nolan was well-known for the many unflattering titles given to him by those around him. Nolan: "Fighting to become emperor? Please... I just want to relax and enjoy life." Rather than compete, he convinced his twin sister to fight in his place while he supported her from behind the scenes. Nolan: "My dear sister, I leave my future in your capable hands!" And with that, the prince’s journey toward a life of leisure—relying entirely on his sister—officially began. — — — — — — — #Note: 1. The main character is lazy and oblivious to his surroundings. However, he deeply loves his younger sister, his mother, and the siblings he cares for as family. 2. Don’t worry—he won’t stay lazy and ignorant forever. There will be meaningful character development, and he’ll play a key role in helping his sister ascend the throne and become Empress. 3. While his laziness can be irritating, he’s actually a kind and supportive person. That said, he becomes ruthless when the lives of his loved ones are threatened. 4. As for romance—I'm still undecided about including a harem. The chances are low, though, since I’m more interested in telling a story with a single heroine… especially in an era flooded with harem novels. Ahem!

Chapter 1 - The Nightmare (Prologue)

"Doctor, please save my fiancé! Please, do whatever it takes to save him!"

In the hospital room, a beautiful woman cried hysterically.

Her eyes were fixed on the handsome young man lying unconscious on the bed.

His condition was grim, his suit torn and stained with blood from numerous wounds.

"Please be patient, Miss. We will do all we can to save him."

The doctor stood across from her, trying to calm her, but his efforts were in vain.

The woman didn't seem to hear him, her heart heavy with grief at the sight of the young man's condition.

"Please, Doctor... He's the man I love... Please save him..." Her voice cracked as she pleaded, her face pale, and tears no longer visible in her eyes.

The doctor sighed softly, glancing at the nurse standing beside the woman.

With a small nod, he gave her a signal, which the nurse immediately understood.

The nurse then tried to escort the woman out, but she struggled, attempting to break free.

"Let go of me! No! I want to stay with him! No!"

As the woman's movements grew more frantic, the nurse called for help.

Another nurse rushed in, and together they tried to calm the woman, carefully restraining her as they attempted to carry her out.

"No! Argh! I want to be with him!"

The woman screamed hysterically before being carried out by the two nurses.

The doctor let out a small sigh, glancing at the man's condition.

"His body is completely destroyed. I'm not sure he can be saved," he murmured, his voice heavy with regret.

Unbeknownst to him, across from where he stood, a human spirit lingered, staring at the unconscious man on the bed with a grim expression.

"So, I'm dead, huh?" He muttered softly, staring at his palms.

Upon closer inspection, the spirit resembled the unconscious man in every way.

At the doctor's words, the spirit smiled wryly. "What a sad ending..."

His mind drifted back a few hours. He had been driving home from work when, stopped at a red light, a large truck swerved from the opposite direction and struck him.

The impact crumpled his car, but thanks to advanced safety systems, his body had been spared from being crushed.

Yet, the injuries he sustained were too severe. He knew this was likely the end.

He sighed softly, glancing toward the exit. There, he heard the frantic cries of a woman—his fiancée.

"Too bad I didn't get to say goodbye to her," he whispered, biting his lower lip. "I'm sorry, Seira..."

Buzz!

Suddenly, a bright white light enveloped his body.

He glanced down at his hands, watching as they slowly disintegrated into tiny particles that drifted into the sky.

He chuckled softly, then looked up at the hospital room ceiling.

"If reincarnation really exists, I beg you, God... Let me be born into a small family. I'm tired of being the heir to a large family..."

As only his head remained, a soft voice echoed in his mind.

"Very well, your request will be granted, Nolan Frey..."

Whoosh!

In an instant, his form vanished completely from this world.

At that moment, the electrocardiogram beside the bed emitted a long, piercing beep.

The doctor, who was about to begin the procedure, stared at the screen in horror, his eyes wide.

"No... How could it happen so quickly?"

...

"Damn... That dream again, huh? It's been over a decade, yet it still haunts me."

On the bed, a handsome eighteen-year-old man slowly sat up, massaging his temples with an irritated expression.

Cold sweat soaked his clothes, and his black hair—dark as the night sky—was a tangled mess.

He sighed softly and turned his gaze toward the window, where the sunlight streamed in brightly.

"That dream's really starting to get on my nerves. When am I ever going to get rid of it?" he muttered to himself, a wry smile on his face.

He was Nolan Frey, the man who had died in a fatal accident.

After his death, he reincarnated into this world as one of the many princes of the Great Empire of Velmora.

Yes, a prince—a title many would envy, but not for him.

He was weary of being the heir to the Frey family, the largest and most powerful in his world, and all he desired was a life of peace.

But instead of the life he wanted, he found himself reincarnated as a prince.

He suspected the god responsible for his soul's transfer had made a mistake, so he had been born a prince.

Fortunately, he wasn't the first prince—but the sixth. So, his chances of ever taking the throne were slim to none!

Inhaling the fresh morning air, he quickly got out of bed and walked toward the large mirror at the end of the room.

"Hmm... Despite my rumpled appearance, I still look incredibly handsome," he remarked shamelessly, nodding in satisfaction.

Well, despite his frustration at being reincarnated as a prince, he couldn't deny that his appearance was truly exceptional.

His face was strikingly handsome, with sharp jawlines.

His eyes, purple and as captivating as sapphires, contrasted perfectly with his slightly long, lustrous black hair.

His posture was straight, his body well-defined with muscles.

If there were an appearance rating, with 100 being the highest, he was certain he'd score a 101.

Just as he basked in his narcissism, a loud knock echoed from the door.

"Brother, it's me, Elina! Are you awake? Father has ordered everyone to gather in the throne room immediately. There's important news to deliver!"
