Chapter 1 - Crimson System

Hey Victor! System less trash, don't you have eyes?" A boy said with a menacing smile plastered on his face, towering over the boy crumpled on the floor.

Victor raised his head from the floor, a streak of blood coming from his mouth.

"Kukk." With a choked groan, he stood up on his trembling feet, pain flaring from his chest.

He raised his head, and his tired eyes fell on the face of the boy smiling at him.

Victor exhaled, his shoulder dropped in defeat. He turned and stepped toward the door leading outside.

The crowd of girls and boys parted ways, not from respect but from disgust.

Snickers and whispers fell on his ears.

"System less freak, I hope they kill him!"

Another girl nearby laughed, "They can not kill them now; it's against the laws to kill humans. They'll just exile him".

Girls laughed together.

Victor sighed as he stepped out of the gate.

In this world, everyone has a system, everyone except me.

Victor looked at the cloudy sky, as it cried with him.

Raindrops slid down his bruised cheeks, mixing with his tears.

In this world, if you don't have the system, you don't have the right to exist.

I, Victor Hans, don't have the system.

When I turn 18 years old tomorrow, I'll be kicked out of Human society, the punishment worse than death.

They say they can't kill me because it's against humanity, so they'll just kick me out, but—

That's worse than granting me death.

Victor reached his dorm room. He stepped inside, a plain, lifeless room, the picture of his life.

A single bed. A rusty chair. And a single window.

He dragged his wet body and sat in the rusty chair.

A creaking sound echoed through the small room.

He stared blankly at the wall.

His head turned out of the window, toward the cloudy sky. Staring at the thundering clouds.

He muttered with resentment-laced words, " Why, God?"

"Every day I have been living in pain in the hope that I will awaken the system."

He clenched his fist and gritted his teeth as blood leaked from his mouth.

" Everyone has awakened the System at the age of five and I."

Tears rolled down as he clenched the wet fabric of his clothes above his thighs tightly, nail piercing the flesh.

" I was cursed, beaten, and even my parents abandoned me".

He raised his head toward the roof, where a rope was already hanging.

He stood on the rusty chair and put the rope around his neck.

His fist clenched, tears streaming down his cheeks as he muttered, " I wish I had never been born into this world."

He looked one last time out of the window, his eyes trembled, his heart raced, and fear gripped his heart.

He closed his eyes and muttered again, " I wish I could live normally, but I can not".

He kicked the chair.

Snap!

The sound echoed.

Victor's eyes snapped open, and he found himself in the suffocating darkness. His body floated in the void.

Suddenly, he felt a pull, and his soul started floating like a water current leading a leaf.

He appeared in the night sky, a floating city bathed in the pale moonlight.

His soul was yanked again into a room, where a man was sleeping on the Victorian-style bed. And a woman stood by a window.

His eyes drifted where she was looking, what he saw, even his soul felt the cold shiver.

People were being cut like a crop

Rivers of blood flowed on the streets.

"Arghhhh"

Several gut-wrenching screams echoed in the middle of the night.

The man sleeping on the bed, Vlad, jolted awake, his wide eyes filled with confusion. He scanned the room, and his eyes fell on the back of the woman at the window.

Vlad asked confused, "What's going on, Luna?"

Shrieking echoed in the background, as Vlad's eyes searched for the answer on the back of Luna.

Luna Redgrave turned toward Vlad and smiled with her crimson eyes glowing.

Sultry whisper escaped from her mouth, "My love, I was just hearing the loud lullabies of your brethren,… Moon shadow clan."

Vlad's eyes widened, and his body trembled as he looked into Luna's Crimson eyes.

But before he can even react.

Luna sped like the wind toward him.

Squelch!

Her hand with sharp nails like daggers pierced his heart.

Victor, the observer, stepped back in his corporeal form.

Vlad grabbed her hand with wide eyes and stumbled as he felt his heart held by her hand.

Luna leaned in and kissed Vlad's blood-oozing mouth, " I need your heart, my love!" she purred.

Squelch!

She ripped the heart out of his chest.

In her hand lay the red, warm heart still beating.

She raised it toward her mouth.

"Mmm.."

She moaned in ecstasy, and her body shivered as the blood slid down her throat.

Blood-curdling screeches came from the outside.

Vlad stumbled back as he clenched his chest with a bleeding, gaping hole.

He looked at the hole in his chest and looked toward his lover, tears rolled down his cheeks.

He muttered, " Luna! …..You!"

He fell against the wall and looked towards her lover, drinking blood from his heart. His Eyes, still confused, were waiting for the answer.

Luna looked down at Vlad, her mouth crimson, dripping with fresh blood, she gave a fanged smile.

Her voice came, ruthless and domineering, " I needed the blood of the Moon Goddess's heir to reach the pinnacle, and you were a good candidate…"

Her crimson eyes glowed, and her smile widened

"Nothing personal, my love".

Vlad's eyes widened, and her words hit his mind walls like hammers as energy slowly faded from his body.

Crunch!

She squashed the heart and started licking her fingers coated in blood.

She casually said, "Don't worry about your parents, they will be following you, Lord Alucard Lunaria will make sure of it".

Vlad raised his head, with every ounce of energy remaining in his body, and looked at her. She was standing above his crumpled body; he felt disgust for himself for loving her.

Vlad's eyes became blood red as he bellowed, " Argghhhhhhhh!

I swear to Moon Goddess, I will tear you, every one of you, I will tear you to pie-."

Luna chuckled, a cold and condescending sound escaped from her lips. Her eyes bore into Vlad like she was staring at an insect. " You are a failure, you were only good for the blood of the Moon Goddess in your veins, nothing else."

Vlad's eyes closed with fury blazing in his eyes.

Moon Goddess, why did you not bless me with your power?

Why?

Why me?

I want Revenge!

No!

I want blood!

Everyone who laid a hand on me, my family will pay.

Even if I have to sell my soul to Lucifer, I'll come back and take my revenge.

…...

….

….

….

Victor's soul also followed Vlad's soul like an anchor.

He faded into darkness.

They felt like centuries had passed.

But

The fire of revenge never faded from his soul.

It burned more furiously, increasing day by day.

On the other hand, Victor felt more and more confused. Questions: Why am I here? What is this place? Why am I getting dragged with this person?

...

….

….

Unending and suffocating darkness was not able to snuff out the fire of revenge in Vlad's heart.

Centuries went by like the sand slipping through fingers, but Vlad's soul still yearned for revenge.

...

Void tried to make him forget the pain, forget the sorrow, but it wasn't able to.

Void just reminded him more that he was here in the endless darkness because of his lover.

The one he trusted.

...

Crimson light broke the void.

A crimson appeared in the dark sky, painting the walls and floors of the void blood red.

Like the walls painted with blood.

In the Middle of it, a Divine being stood right before the crimson moon.

She was wearing all white, and her face was similarly pale.

Her eyes were Crimson, glowing like the moon behind her.

Her hair's silver shimmered in the red skies.

Honey-like sweet sound fell on Vlad's ears. "Vlad Lunaria, my descendant, I acknowledge your strong desire for revenge."

Vlad's eyes narrowed suspiciously at her.

She continued with a smile brighter than the glow of the Moon, "I'm the Moon Goddess, one and only. Mother of all the Vampires."

Vlad's eyes widened, and he shouted in anger, "You're the one who didn't bless me with the Origin Magic, even though I had your blood in my veins?"

Moon Goddess' eyes twinkled, and she spoke with a slight smile, "Let's not talk about the past. We are here to talk about the future, your future."

Vlad's corporeal eyes narrowed.

Victor raised his hands. " Why am I here?"

Moon Goddess turned toward the unnoticeable soul, whose presence was negligible.

She gave a benevolent smile.

Victor stepped back, fear struck his soul at the warm smile.

Her smile widened, her ethereal, honey-like sweet sound came, " You're the chosen one, I will bless you with the system, and you will return. But you have to fulfill the two conditions".

Victor's eyes widened. ' System and returning back' words reverberated in his mind.

He always lived, scorned by everyone and powerless, but what if he had power? How would he live?

He felt all his life like an insect; everyone who sees it will try to trample it or avoid it.
