I couldn't answer the same question she was asking, probably because I didn't know why. I had not planned to save her, but in the heat of the moment, I felt the need to do it.
"Liam?" She called again, making me turn my head towards her. This time, I answered the first thing that popped into my head.
"I don't know… I wish I did. If I did, I'm sure I would have said it a long time ago," I explained, but I could clearly see the look of disappointment on her face. She seemed to have her head lowered. However, I couldn't tell why.
"You really want to know why, huh? Is it that important?" I asked calmly, making her shake her head.
"No, me… what?" She laughed nervously, which confused me.
"I'm over that. I was just thinking about what we were going to be doing in the human world. I—" I noticed how she tried to change the topic, but I didn't mind. After all, she had the right to think whatever she wanted.
