The current Emperor Magnus (who is both feared and a bit eccentric) hears rumors of an unprecedented ability awakening in the "backwater" nation of Liria. Amused, he sets out with his ragtag (and rivalrous) group of the Eight Nation Leaders to verify the rumors—with hilarious misunderstandings and over-the-top displays of their power
