Dying really sucks. Especially when you are only in your early 20's.
However I don't really regret the cause of my death. Saving a bunch of innocent children from a bomb was a small price to pay.
To elaborate, I was on a train full of children going to a School Excursion. I, being an assistant Teacher, was lucky enough to accompany them in this trip.
Unfortunately some bastard had planted a bomb, who knows why, and planned to blow up the Coach the Students were travelling in.
By the time we have discovered the bomb it was too late. The timer only had a few seconds left and the train was currenly passing over a narrow bridge over a river.
So I did the only thing I could. I grabbed the bomb and threw it out, just a few seconds before it could explode.
That should have been the end of it. I saved the Train, I would have been hailed as a hero.....
....only except it didn't happen.
The blast and shockwave of the blast, just a few metres outside the train, caused me to trib out of the Doors of the fast moving train, as I was already pretty disbalanced from throwing the bomb.
I fell from the Train, and down at the river from a height. And to my doom.
Fortunately at least, I didn't die by drowning. That would have been horrific and less than pleasant.
No I died by the fall. My life offing immediately upon impact.
It was a rather painless death. Like my life being switched off to darkness.
Oh well, at least I am an orphan so I don't have any family that I am leaving behind.
Hopefully they will at least recover my body for a proper funeral. I don't really want to become fish food.
Anyway, with my life ending. I thought that my next journey in Afterlife will begin. As Gandalf said "Death is just another path". And considering that I still retain my consciousness, rather than fading into darkness, there must be some kind of afterlife.
Hopefully after sacrificing my life, I will at least have the fortune of attaining heaven....lol
My vision slowly returned. And as I opened my eyes slowly, blinking drowsily to find myself staring at a fansy looking ceiling with chandeliers and all, looking just like a play from a victorian era.
"Did I survive?" I thought grogily "Am I in a fancy hospital?"
However his thoughts were interrupted when a screen suddenly sprung up in front of him.
[System....Activated!!]
I blinked confused.
