Chapter 1 - Born With 9 God-Tier Talents

Jiangnan City No. 2 High School, Huaxia.

Today was the long-awaited Talent Awakening Day for the graduating class.

Two hundred years ago, the Land of Divine Punishment descended upon Blue Star, tearing open the skies and flooding the world with monsters. Humanity was pushed to the brink, forced into an age where every person awakened their talents to survive. Today, that ritual continues in every school, every city, every generation.

Inside the Awakening Hall, the atmosphere was tense yet electric. A row of school leaders sat on the raised platform, the old, balding principal seated in the center. He cleared his throat and began his speech, his voice carrying the weight of history.

"Students, ever since one of the Four Human Emperors, Ethan, perished in battle two years ago, the demon race has relentlessly pushed us back. Our human race stands on the edge of survival." His eyes swept across the crowd, grave yet burning with passion. "This is the worst of times, yet also the best of times! As you all know, it's been over a century since anyone awakened an SSS-Rank talent. With the fall of Dugulian, the world is yearning for a new Emperor to rise. Perhaps, one of you will be the one to change the fate of humanity!"

The speech ignited the students like a spark on dry tinder. Blood boiled, fists clenched, hearts roared with ambition. It was as if every student wanted to jump up and declare themselves the next savior of humankind.

Everyone, except for one young man sitting in the back row.

Noah.

He stared at the stage, his handsome face frozen in disbelief. "What the hell… am I dreaming?" Demon invasions, talent awakenings… this wasn't his world!

He pinched his thigh instinctively, only to frown. "Wait… why does my leg feel so smooth?"

As his gaze shifted, he met a pair of furious, slightly teary eyes.

"Excuse me," the girl next to him whispered through clenched teeth, "are you seriously touching my leg right now?"

Noah blinked, confused, until the realization hit him like a truck. This wasn't his old, fat male classmate. His desk mate here… was a girl.

And not just any girl. She was stunning—short skirt, long pale legs exposed under the desk, skin soft to the touch.

Before his brain could catch up, the girl—Tang Xia—exploded. "Noah, I treated you like a friend, and you sneak this in while I'm napping?!"

Heads turned. Noah yanked his hand back like it was on fire, coughed awkwardly, and muttered, "Uh… wrong target. My bad."

Tang Xia glared. "Oh? Then, who were you trying to touch?"

Noah rubbed his temple, silently swearing this dream was insane. To test reality, he dug his nails hard into his thigh. Pain shot through his nerves.

"ARGH! Damn, that hurts!" He jumped to his feet, clutching his leg. Every head in the hall turned his way.

The principal frowned. "Student, is there a problem?"

Still reeling, Noah snapped his finger toward Tang Xia and shouted, "Sir, my desk mate volunteers to awaken first!"

Tang Xia froze, eyes wide. "What—no!" But it was too late.

"Oh? Such bravery!" The principal's face brightened as he smiled warmly. "Good, good! Courage is the foundation of strength. Young lady, come up!"

Snap! The pen in Tang Xia's grip broke clean in two.

Grumbling under her breath, the high ponytailed beauty stomped up to the awakening platform. The staff guided her to place her hand on the crystal sphere. Moments later, the orb glowed red-hot, energy swirling within.

"Tang Xia, B-Rank Talent: Flame Frenzy!" the examiner announced.

The hall erupted in gasps and cheers.

"Wow, no wonder she dared to go first. A B-Rank, and a fire element talent at that!"

"B-Rank Fire is top five material in the entire school!"

Noah slumped back into his seat, brain buzzing as his past life's memories meshed with this new world's knowledge.

Awakened talents were ranked from F to SSS, each rank exponentially stronger than the last. The gap between even a single grade could mean the difference between cannon fodder and legend.

Statistics said that 99.9% of humanity would never awaken above a B-Rank. Only one in ten thousand reached A-Rank, one in a hundred million reached S-Rank, and SSS? Only four people in history had ever awakened it… and that was over a century ago.

So yes, a B-Rank fire talent was worth celebrating.

Tang Xia thanked the teachers, her earlier anger replaced by pride. As she returned to her seat, she smirked. "Well? How was that? Daddy's pretty amazing, right?"

Noah scoffed. "B-Rank? Please. Watch when I awaken my SSS talent later."

"Ha! You? Keep dreaming," Tang Xia teased, rolling her eyes.

Names were called one by one. Students awakened talents from D to C, a lucky few landing A-Rank. Then the examiner called:

"Noah!"

He stood, drawing several glances. With his tall frame, sharp features, and sunlit smile, he easily stood out. Striding to the platform, he placed his hand on the crystal.

Energy pulsed, threads of light weaving into his body. After thirty seconds, the glow faded.

"Noah, S-Rank Talent: Tenfold Absorption!"

The room exploded in cheers. The first S-Rank talent in school history! Yet seconds later, the joy turned awkward. People stifled laughter, whispers buzzing.

The staff displayed his talent info:

[Tenfold Absorption (S-Rank): Possesses an extraordinary appetite, absorbing ten times the nutrients of normal humans.]

Not combat-oriented. Not even support. Just… eating a lot.

The principal, who'd nearly jumped for joy, froze mid-air before sighing heavily. "Ah… what a pity. An S-Rank wasted on such a useless attribute…"

Noah himself stared at the words blankly. Useless? Seriously? But S-Rank was still rare, a solid foundation to build on. "Fine," he thought. "I'll make it work."

He thanked the teacher, turned to leave—

DING!

A screen no one else could see flashed before his eyes.

Noah froze mid-step.

Nine. Nine SSS talents.

The world thought he was a joke. But from this moment on, he would rewrite everything.
