The New Start.
Fire blazed inside houses, on the roads, on dead bodies that laid everywhere, scattered across the small city. The once screaming Ervyll's scattered everywhere, were now quiet and laying peacefully covered in blood on the ground.
Loki stared at the Ervyll standing before him and his dragon, Arnaraok. His gaze was cold and unforgiving, mirroring his dragon's.
"It's time your species perished," Loki spoke mercilessly.
Loiren narrowed his eyes, scowling at Loki, the Drakophoros in front of him. Drakophoros; A person entitled by birth to a dragon that belonged to their realm— no, their species.
"Says you." retorted Loiren composed, but cautious.
Loiren Vell had his swords unsheathed, in stance against Arnaraok. Loki was the least of his worries, after all.
The dragon screeched loudly, fire sparking on its scales. The dark blood-red colour of the dragon only glowing further in the luminous darkness of the night enveloped them. Arnaraok's glowing mint green eyes scanned the Ervyll's city, now burning down in flames, with the help of his allies. The once profound species went extinct right before the dragon's eyes.
Loiren held his stance, gripping his swords tightly, ready to repel any and all attacks. Unfortunately, something the warrior was not ready for was the heat he'd endure in the duration of 30 seconds.
Loki smirked, seeing Ervyll's habitat destroyed by his kind, causing the destruction that he had wanted for as long as he was alive.
In human years, Loki was only 17. But one human year equals 5 dragon years.
Loki was almost 135 in dragon years. Yet, he remained youthful in terms of appearance. Blood red hair, matching with the skin of his dragon's. Eyes so majestic, one iris colour of a fully ripe green apple, the other a light green-gray colour. His skin is pale.
The last thing Loiren would see were the pathetic humans running around, some, their lower halves of the body already melted in the heat of the fires around them.
Arnaraok growled menacingly, glaring at Loiren with disdain. It got ready to counter-attack.
Arnaraok opened its mouth wide, breathing out fire onto the land that it despised with each glistening obsidian scale it had.
'So this is it, huh?' Loiren smiled weakly. 'I guess my efforts… go in vain.' he thought bitterly.
The scalding hot fire engulfed the petite measly figure,
In large, bright, blazing flames.
Loiren screamed loudly in agony as he tried doing anything but voice his pain.
He burnt down like ashes in a furnace, just like the iron of his swords as his feet.

< Narrative has temporarily been paused. >
The fire dragon, Arnaraok, watched with a satisfied gaze. It hissed loudly, the fire playing above its scales casually. It clawed at another one of the once-proud species Ervyll below him, knocking down the pitiful creature.

"Isn't that too many packages for one truck?" Kaelren asked his former boss, who sat on an office chair behind the counter, playing poker on the work computer. A bored expression played on his striking features.
"You know they keep records of the computer history, right, Nex?" Kaelren added.
"It doesn't matter, Kael. El is my companion. She wouldn't care what I do with this computer," Nex leaned back in his chair.
"She's chill like that, maybe you should learn that from her." He retorted casually.
< Chosen vessel is weak. >
< Story is delayed due to vessels bodily errors. >
"Well I'll see you on Monday. I'm finishing my shift." Kaelren Said, taking off his gloves, walking to his locker. He placed the dirty gloves in his locker, slamming it shut.
"Why so early? It's barely 6PM." Nex asked curiously. He sat up from behind the counter, stretching his muscular arms across his chest.
"I'm tired. Why else?"
The Light green haired man looked at Kaelren, staring at the male for a moment. He then burst out laughing, now aggressively patting Kaelren's back.
"Jee, It's you. Of course you are!" He exclaimed, smirking subtly.
Kaelren smiled awkwardly at the older man, walking towards the exit of the building.
"See you Monday." Nex called out one last time. Kaelren smiled, leaving.
Kaelren walked himself home, grabbing some short eat snacks on the way.
He arrived home sooner than he would have on a normal Friday evening.
'Maybe I should eat out tonight. Actually, scratch that. I'm way too exhausted.' Kaelren internally decided, the plastic bag he held dangling behind his shoulder as he continued walking to his apartment.
[ "You should pay closer attention to your surroundings." ]
Kaelren jumped, looking around. His eyes scanned his surroundings. He was alone— out in the open streets.
'Who was that?' Kaelren asked himself.
[ "Do you mean me, boy?" ]
Rang that same deep voice inside his head— or outside. He really couldn't tell.
"Ack!–" He'd verbally voice, the unknown voice sending a shiver down his spine.
Looking in the direction he thought the voice came from, he came to see the darkness of the setting sun's sky instead.
[ "Stop panicking, Kaelren." ]
if Kaelren wasn't freaked out before, he definitely was freaked out now. Stop panicking? Oh he'll show the voice just how calm he is.
'Who are you?' He questioned, a little bit calmer, awaiting his answer from the unknown voice.
He waited. No response.
'Hello? Are you still—'
[ "Calm down. You're first instinct shouldn't be to panic." ]
Kaelren's patience was being tested.
'Answer my question.' He thought bitterly.
[ "I am… Covis. Your narrator." ]
'My what—' Kaelren's thoughts cut off short. He stepped into a puddle. He immediately stepped back, shaking his shoe, making a disgusted face.
"Gross." He muttered to himself. But as he stepped back, he noticed something in the puddle's reflection.
[ A weapon will be thrown to
your head in 3… 2…— ]
Kaelren looked at the puddle with a mix of confusion and worry. What the hell?—
He looked up, only to see a white and black flash before he ducked on instinct, instead falling over, face flat.
"Shit.." He slowly picked himself up, his hand clutching his-now bloodied nose.
"Ouch.." He mumbled after touching his nose. Kaelren looked up, still sitting on the ground.
His heart raced loudly in his chest, his mind still reeling trying to process what had just happened.
'What the actual f*ck just happened?' He tried to make sense of what he saw. A foreshadowed message? From whom?
He surely wasn't some fortune-teller who hallucinates his own future, was he?
Kaelren would probably sit there for decades if he tried any harder to make sense of this situation. So, instead he stood up, stumbling forward.
He looked around, though nothing— and no one was in sight.
He'd originally thought it'd be Just someone playing jokes with him, but because his reflection in puddles told him a few seconds into his future, he's completely thrown off and astonished.
"What on God's green earth is happening?" Kaelren spoke to himself. He looked back, only to find a fragment of metal. It was shiny, reflecting everything that played on its surface area.
Including the words,
< You have obtained a fragment of the series 'blade of searing' 1/7. >
Displayed, Before the words disappeared off the piece of metal.
Kaelren stares at it, still a bit stunned. He had no idea as to what just happened. So, will he keep seeing odd narrations through reflections?
'Maybe I'll just live in a world without reflections,' thought Kaelren.
[ "No, you must not do that." ]
The mysterious voice had once again startled Kaelren. He sighed this time, not bothering to act too panicked. He didn't want to seem that weak.
'Seriously, at least be a bit more predictable. You're starting to scare me.' Kaelren sighed under his breath.
[ "My apologies. Whatever the case, I'll be here from now on, so I hope you know what to expect."] Covis spoke, more like telepathically, though.
'You can read my mind, huh? That sure will be annoying.'
[ "I will be your guide through your journey. You must grow accustomed to me, eventually." ] He insisted, the voice professional yet calm.
'What are you, exactly? I can't see you or feel your presence. I can only hear your voice in my head. It's kind of weird.'
Kaelren asked curiously, his head subconsciously tilting subtly.
[ "I am of the guider species, here for your assistance." ]
'Yes, you've said that once or more now,' Kaelren started.
'But what are you? I don't believe there's a species special for such miniscule tasks. What is your purpose with me? Plus, so far I've told you nothing about me but you know my name as if it's written above my head in bold letters.'
Kaelren could hear Covis sigh in his head. Kaelren rolled his eyes, waiting for Covis' response eagerly. He had many, many questions.
[ "My, many questions you have, is it?" ] Covis chuckled, amused by the bundle of questions.
'You can't be serious to tell me it isn't reasonable.' Kaelren scoffed, his patience starting to waver.
[ "You have a tough journey ahead, Kaelren. Make use of my presence while it lasts." ] Covis warned once, before his voice was nowhere to be heard once again.
