Synopsis
Have you ever heard of the term, "Roguelite"? It's a genre of gaming all about the process of repetition. Start a session, collect currency, die, get stronger, and repeat. It just so happens that that is precisely Ein Valestine's ability in this new world. The ability to rewind to the beginning of the day every time he dies. One thing that's taken for granted in roguelikes that Ein was now 100% aware of, however... Dying hurts. A lot. This is the story of Ein Valestein and his survival (and deaths) in the land of Remnant. How will he change the story? What chaos will occur from his existence alone? Only time could tell. --- [This is a remake, as you can probably tell by the name of the fic. Please don't read the original, it's ASS, like even more than this one. Also, for those who've read the original story, start from Chapter 4, since that's where the real changes occur.]

Chapter 1 - New Game | Tutorial

Ein doesn't know how he got here, but one thing's for sure.

This isn't earth.

Strange beasts appeared from the depths. Dark, red eyed animals with bony exoskeletons that are armed to the teeth. He recognized them from somewhere...

RWBY.

He's only seen the first and second volume, but he could definitely recognize these things. Anyone could, really. Especially with how popular RWBY fanfics are. Luckily though, they were just passing by and didn't notice Ein at all. He didn't want to become Grimm food. He had no fighting skills of any kind. Nor did he ever have the time to practice his outdoor skills. In short, he was nothing but a sitting duck. He didn't want to stay any longer. No matter how this might have happened or why, he didn't want to take the risk of it all being a dream.

Careful steps were taken... Silence and tension fills the air. His heartbeat is the only thing he can hear... Until suddenly-

CRACK

The noise of a branch snapping in half beneath his feet. No... He suddenly looks back to the Grimm, Beowolves, running towards the source of the noise Damn it! Ein books it as fast as he possibly can. I can't die! His heartbeat, previously slow, became erratic and quick as he ran for his life.

---

Minutes have passed since he began his escape. He couldn't believe it. How are these things still after me?! They should've lost me by now... Why?! It's like they can sense me!

I can't run for any longer... He pants. His legs are weak and he's slowly decelerating. Until finally, his legs give out. "Fuck... I... I'm dead, aren't I..." He says in despair. He waits for death... All hope is lost...

"Fuck that!"

He flares up. If I die, I'm gonna take at least one of those things with me! He looks behind. The Beowolves were approaching rapidly. He had to make his move quick. He looked around for something. Anything to help him kill one of his attackers. He glanced at a rock about the size of his own head. "Yeah. That could work." He walks up to it and lifts it. It's heavy. At least about 10-15 kilograms by his estimation. Enough to bash a head in. "Good."

---

Mere seconds later, the pack of Beowolves arrive at his location only to find... Nothing? Not even a trace. Normally, they'd be able to sense negative emotions, but for some unknown reason, nothing picking up. Unbeknownst to the Grimm, he was behind one of the trees. Hiding for the perfect time to strike. He calmed himself, breathing slowly and methodically. Patience is a virtue after all... He thinks.

The Grimm began their search. He couldn't have gone far. Not without alerting them at least. The pack of Beowolves split up, each one searching in a different direction. He was worried he'd need to sneak up on the whole pack, but this made things a lot easier.

One of the Beowolves walked slowly, scanning the area thoroughly. Ein could hear it approaching, its footsteps getting louder and louder as it gets closer and closer to his location. One step after another, the Beowolf was unaware that it was walking directly into it's own doom. Ein holds his breath as he slowly raises the rock up, readying to strike. The moment the Grimm had entered his vision—

"Take this!" The Beowolf could barely react before its head was completely caved in by Ein. A violent splat came shortly thereafter. His adrenaline dissipated and he realized what he had done.

Shit... I alerted them, huh? Despite the threatening sound of footsteps coming his way, he couldn't help but laugh maniacally at his impending doom. "Ahahaha!!!" He looks upwards at the two moons in the sky, still laughing maniacally as he does so. They were here. His Grimm Reapers to claim his life... And they pounce.

Time seemed to slow down drastically. He long since stopped laughing, but instead, he just smiled. "Life truly is cruel, isn't it?" Those were his final words as time sped back up and the razor sharp claws of the Grimm ripped him to shreds.

[DEATH OF HOST DETECTED.]

[REWIND INITIATED.]

[PREVIOUS SAVE FILE RELOADED.]

[PREVIOUS STATS TRANSFERRED.]

[WELCOME TO REMNANT, ENJOY YOUR STAY.]

...

...

...

...

GASP

A frightened gasp came from Ein Valestein. "Wh-What the hell was that?!" He remembers dying. He remembers feeling the pain of the Beowolves' claws. He felt his guts being torn out and his head split open...

He shook his head. No need to think about that anymore. There's also that thing. The green-ish blue panel that floated in front of him in this pitch black void.

What is this thing...?

[REBIRTH UNLOCKED. TUTORIAL ENGAGED.]

What the... There is no way. Is this—?!

[REBIRTH IS A COMPLEX SYSTEM BIRTHED BY EARTHKIND'S DESIRE TO CHANGE THE PAST. THOUGH INACCESSIBLE THROUGH REGULAR, EARTHLY MEANS, IT IS POSSIBLE TO ACCESS ONLY THROUGH THE INTERFERENCE OF ANOTHER FORCE CALLED (MANA) AND (AURA).]

[. -->]

This... This is a system, isn't it... He'd seen this one too many times, when authors don't want to put effort into growing their character's strength. While lazy, they were quite fun reads, so he didn't care too much. But... Desires to change the past, huh? I can relate to that a bit too much, heh. He chuckles. This was an odd situation, but at least he's alive. That's all that mattered. He taps the arrow, flipping the tutorial to the next page.

[THE MEANS OF ACQUIRING THIS POWER IS DRASTIC, HOWEVER. ONE NEEDS TO DIE TO GAIN THE POWER BESTOWED. HENCE THE NAME (REBIRTH). NOT ALL IS NOT LOST HOWEVER, FOR EVERY DEATH, THE HOST GROWS STRONGER. CERTAIN GAINS FROM THEIR PREVIOUS FILE IS SAVED.]

[SAVED:

-SUFFICIENTLY TRAINED STATS

-SKILL EXP

-TITLES]

[LOST:

-LIEN GAINED SINCE PREVIOUS SAVE

-ITEMS GAINED SINCE PREVIOUS SAVE]

[<--.-->]

'I see...' He reads through the panel. 'Being able to keep my stats from a previous save, huh.' Though, not keeping whatever he gets is a bummer. Same for literally needing to die to gain power, but that's neither here nor there. I've already died once. I can die again. He thinks. He tries to ignore the fact that the memory of the Beowolves ripping his body apart still terrified him. He flips to the next page.

[THAT IS ALL FOR THIS SECTION OF THE TUTORIAL. PLEASE HOLD OUT YOUR HAND IN FRONT YOU AND SAY (OPEN) TO CONTINUE.]

[<--.]

Simple enough of a request. He holds out his hand slowly and waits for a moment to brace himself. "...Open." A panel opens in front of his hand labeled as (Menu). Before he could actually check it out though, he was interrupted by another panel appearing overtop the Menu.

[CONGRATULATIONS FOR YOUR DEATH. IN YOUR LAST RUN, YOU:

KILLED 1 BEOWOLF

WALKED 1 KM

RAN 900 M IN 5 MINUTES.

WENT A TOTAL OF 8 MINUTES WITHOUT BEING DETECTED BY GRIMM.

CALCULATING XP GAINED...]

Before he could even process what the screen meant, he was once again interrupted by another panel appearing. Thankfully, it was to the side this time, so he could see what was happening with the other panel.

[WHEN THE HOST FIRST OPENS THEIR MENU IN A NEW SAVE FILE, ALL PREVIOUS ACHIEVMENTS AND EXCERCISES FROM THE PAST LIFE ARE COUNTED AND CALCULATED INTO XP. THIS IS CALLED (THE XP CALCULATION PHASE) OF YOUR NEW SAVE FILE, AND THE FIRST PHASE OF YOUR REBIRTH. TO FLIP TO THE NEXT PAGE, PLEASE WAIT FOR THE XP TO BE CALCULATED AND ACCEPT THE XP GIVEN]

[.X]

'I see... So it's gonna give me xp based on my previous life's performance.' He raises his hand to his chin. Nothing to do now but wait,

...

...

Ein was sitting down, bored out of his mind waiting for the calculation to finish. It had been about a minute or so since it had begun calculation. 'Ugh, when is this gonna finish?' He thought to himself, who would then get his complaints answered by a ding from the XP calculation panel.

[CALCULATION FINISHED. HERE ARE YOUR RESULTS:

KILLED 1 BEOWOLF ... 100 (FIRST KILL BONUS) x 1 = 100 XP

WALKED 1 KM ... 0.01 X 1000 = 10 XP

RAN 900 M IN 5 MINUTES ... (0.1 x 0.95) x 900 = 85 XP

WENT A TOTAL OF 8 MINUTES WITHOUT BEING DETECTED BY GRIMM ... 5 x 8 = 40 XP

TOTAL XP GAINED: 235]

[ACCEPT XP?]

[Y/N]

"Well, obviously yes." He put his hand on the Y button and the panel disappears. Though before he could see the Menu, another panel atop the Menu.

[CALCULATING SKILLS GAINED...]

God damn it! He was getting more and more irritated, but another ding distracted him from his annoyance. This time, the sound came from the tutorial panel. The next page was now unlocked.

[CONGRATULATIONS FOR GETTING YOUR FIRST TASTE OF XP GAIN. YOU MAY NOTICE ANOTHER SCREEN APPEAR. THIS IS (THE SKILL CALCULATION PHASE), THE SECOND OF THE THREE CALCULATION PHASES. THIS PHASE CALCULATES SKILL GAIN THE SAME WAY IT CALCULATES XP GAIN. IT WILL ANALYZE YOUR PREVIOUS ACHIEVMENTS AND GRANT YOU SKILLS DEPENDENT ON THE ACHIEVMENT. UNLIKE XP HOWEVER, NOT EVERY ACTION GAINS THE HOST A NEW SKILL. YOU CAN ONLY ACQUIRE AN ACHIEVEMENT SKILL ONCE, PLEASE ACCEPT THE SKILLS GIVEN TO YOU.]

[<--.X]

Oh, thank god. there's only three of these. He thought in relief. He didn't want to wait in this empty void again. Thankfully though, unlike the XP calculation phase, this phase had already completed the calculation as he was reading the tutorial.

[CALCULATION FINISHED. HERE ARE YOUR RESULTS:

[Y/N]

...No words could come out of his mouth. He was speechless at this, but not necessarily in a bad way. In fact, he'd been smiling the whole time. "Hell yeah! Give me those!" He points his index finger towards Y with a grin on his face, and that grin could only get bigger when he felt himself change. He felt much calmer. Much less afraid. Yet... in spite of it, his death by the hands of the Grimm still haunted him.

The panel blocking his menu had disappeared only to be replaced by another. This time however, he's not angry or annoyed, rather, he's excited for what it'll give next.

[CALCULATING STATS GAINED...]

"Oho?" He could only curiously laugh at this. Stats gained? Directly? He could already feel himself getting excited, despite his passive skill (Calm Mind.) attempting to calm him otherwise. He quickly turned to the tutorial panel to see if his thoughts were correct.

[THE REBIRTH IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER SYSTEM. YOU WILL NOT LEVEL UP, NEITHER WILL YOU GAIN STAT POINTS. INSTEAD, YOU GAIN STATS THROUGH ACTIVELY TRAINING ONE'S SELF AND DYING. DEPENDING ON THE TYPE, INTENSITY, FREQUENCY, AND LENGTH OF THE TRAINING, YOU MIGHT GAIN DIFFERING STATS ADDED TO YOUR NEXT RUN. THESE STATS ARE PERMANENT, BUT MAY DISSIPATE OVERTIME IF YOU DO NOT TRAIN YOURSELF ENOUGH IN THAT STAT. THERE ARE ALSO DIMINISHING RETURNS, MAKING IT MUCH MORE DIFFICULT TO LEVEL UP STATS. EVERY 5 LEVELS ABOVE 1 (6, 11, 16, etc.), THE REQUIREMENT TO ADVANCE A POINT INCREASES BY FIVE TIMES. THERE IS ONLY ONE STAT WHICH CAN BE INCREASED V.I.A XP, AND THAT IS LUCK. THIS IS CALLED (THE STAT CALCULATION PHASE). THE LAST OF THE THREE CALCULATION PHASES. TO PROCEED TO THE NEXT PAGE, ACCEPT THE STATS GIVEN TO YOU.]

[<--.X]

Awesome.

It did kinda suck that I can't add stats manually though, but whatever, I could work past it. That stat dissipation though... He also didn't know the specifics of dissipation. No matter, he'd deal with that when he needed to. For now, he wanted whatever stats this phase would give him. Every little bit counted against those Beowolves.

[CALCULATION FINISHED. HERE ARE YOUR RESULTS:

WALKED 1 KM ... (1 AGI PER KM OF WALKING) = +1 AGI

RAN 900 M IN 5 MINUTES ... ((900/5/30) x .5) = +3 AGI

WENT A TOTAL OF 8 MINUTES WITHOUT BEING DETECTED BY GRIMM ... (1 DEX PER 5 MINUTES OF STEALTH) = +1 DEX

TOTAL STAT GAIN: +4 AGI, +1 DEX]

[ACCEPT STATS?]

[Y/N]

He can't tell if that much is a good amount, considering the fact that he hasn't even seen his stats yet. Whatever though. Even if it's a tiny amount, it'll help. He presses the Y button. The instant he did, he felt himself getting lighter. His legs felt much stronger and his eyes could see better. It felt great! He does a kick just to test out his newfound strength. That one kick was much stronger than what he could muster before his boost. Nothing extraordinary, but damn, did it feel good to have this kind of power.

The panel disappeared and he could finally see his Menu. It was the moment of absolute suspense.

"Interesting..." Ein says as he looks over his stats. Looks like the stats he gained were massive boosts after all. Some of these terms are unfamiliar to him though. He's not as big of a gamer as most people are. "Welp, I guess it's time to consult the tutorial again." He looks slightly over to the side and flips to the next page of the tutorial.

[IT'S NOW TIME TO GET FAMILIAR WITH THE MENU. AVAILABLE XP MEANS THE XP THE HOST HAS IN STORE TO SPEND FOR LUCK, SKILL XP, AND RESEARCH.

HOST INFORMATION IS THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE HOST'S CURRENT HEALTH (HP), STAMINA (STP), MANA (MP), AND AURA (AP).

NEXT UP IS EQUIPMENT. IT DISPLAYS INFORMATION ON THE CURRENT WEAR OF THE HOST. IT MAY ALSO DISPLAY ARMOR SET BONUSES, BUFFS, DURABILITY, AMONG OTHER THINGS IF YOU PRESS EXPAND.

STATS ARE WHERE MOST OF THE HOST'S POWER WILL COME FROM.

STR: THE HOST'S UPPER BODY STRENGTH

VIT: THE HOST'S DURABILITY AND STAMINA

DEX: THE HOST'S SKILL IN HANDLING HIS BODY'S INVOLUNTARY ACTION. THIS ALSO INCREASES THE AWARENESS AND ACCURACY OF THE HOST.

AGI: THE HOST'S LOWER BODY STRENGTH

INT: THE HOST'S ABILITY TO WITHSTAND AND RESIST MENTAL/MAGIC/AURA ATTACKS. THIS ALSO INCREASES THE HOST'S ABILITY TO HANDLE MAGIC/AURA.

LCK: THE LIKELIHOOD FOR THINGS TO GO THE WAY OF THE HOST. ALSO INCREASES DROP RATES.

SKILLS ARE THE DIVIDED INTO TWO PARTS. ACTIVE AND PASSIVE. ACTIVE SKILLS ARE SKILLS THAT YOU MUST ACTIVATE. THESE SKILLS ALSO USUALLY HAVE A COOLDOWN AND USE ONE TYPE OF RESOURCE FROM THE HOST, THOUGH THERE MAY BE EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. THEN THERE ARE PASSIVE SKILLS. SKILLS WHICH DO NOT NEED RESOURCES FROM THE HOST TO BE ACTIVATED, BUT INSTEAD, REQUIRE SPECIFIC CONDITIONS FOR ACTIVATION]

[<--.-->]

"Whew! That's a lot, but I think I got it." It was a long read, but he gets the gist of it... Probably.

He presses expand on his equipment to see what kind of boosts he's currently getting from his equipment, and to his surprise, his clothes were, in fact, not made of steel and can't protect his body from harm. Who would've thought? They self repair though, so that's good.

[IF THE HOST MAY REQUIRE A CERTAIN SKILL, THEY MAY CONSULT THE RESEARCH TABLE TO ACCESS THE SKILL TREE. FOR THE SAKE OF THIS TUTORIAL, THERE WILL BE A RESEARCH TABLE SPAWNED IN. HOWEVER, THIS RESEARCH TABLE WILL DISAPPEAR AFTER THIS SESSION. PLEASE WALK TO THE RESEARCH TABLE AND STRETCH YOUR ARM OUT THEN SAY "INTERACT".]

[.X]

'Huh? The what table-?' His thoughts were interrupted by the sound of cartoonish whistling coming from above. He looks up to see... something falling down at a rapid speed. Ein dashes a bit away from where the impact zone would be. A smart decision as the moment the object crashed down, it created an enormous shockwave which made the void itself shake. Alongside a massive dust cloud. "Holy shit!" That definitely would've killed him if he were any closer. Not that he's alive to begin with, but it's better to be safe rather than to be sorry.

He slowly walks forward in cautiousness until the dust cloud disappeared. Within the cloud was a table with a two inch thick stack of parchment paper and a quill in an ink bottle. "So that's a research table, huh?" His slow walk turned more brisk once he assessed that the situation wasn't dangerous.

Once he reached about an arm's length of the table, he stretched his arm out. "Interact."

What appeared before him was nothing short of a spectacle. A sudden burst of an interconnected network surrounded him. There were circles which had icons on them. One had an anvil, one had a book, and one had a musical note just to name a few of the many branches laid out around him.

[THIS IS A LVL 1 RESEARCH TABLE. THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO ACQUIRE SKILLS BY SPENDING XP TO ACQUIRE THEM. FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR SURVIVAL, PLEASE ACQUIRE THE (SURVIVOR) SKILL AND THE (CRAFTSMAN) SKILL.]

[<--.X]

"How in the hell am I supposed to find those skills in this web?" Despite his confusion, he instantly knew which skills those were. The survivor skill had a sort of campfire icon. He pressed it and a panel opened up before him.

[SURVIVOR]

-THIS SKILL IS ESSENTIAL TO ONE'S SURVIVAL. THIS SKILL WILL UNLOCK FOUR CRAFTING RECIPES THAT WILL HELP YOU SURVIVE.

(UNLOCKS RECIPE: CAMPFIRE, LEAF TENT.)

COST TO UNLOCK: 5 XP

[UNLOCK?]

[Y/N]

It's a cheap skill. There's no reason for Ein to not buy it. He buys the skill... and immediately, he noticed something wrong. His head was starting to hurt. "What's... What's happening—!" He supports himself using the research table and grits his teeth. Suddenly, an overwhelming amount of knowledge floods into his mind, causing him to go into a state of nausea.

[NOTICE: THE (SURVIVOR) SKILL IS BEING INSTALLED. PLEASE WAIT.]

Minutes have passed since he was bombarded by the survivor skill. He had finally recovered from the shock. "Ugh... That sucked. At least I know that that happens now..."

Still, despite the pain, the skill tree would be extremely handy. Being able to learn something in a single instant was invaluable. He interacts with the Research Table once more and braces himself for another headache as he looms his finger over a circle with a table icon on it.

[CRAFTSMAN]

-THIS CHEAP SKILL IS A MUST HAVE ON YOUR NEW ADVENTURE, ESPECIALLY WITH DANGER RUNNING RAMPANT.

(UNLOCKS: WORKTABLE AND RESEARCH TABLE {LVL 1}, TOOLS AND WEAPONS UP TO FLINT LEVEL {LVL 1})

COST TO UNLOCK: 5 XP

[UNLOCK?]

[Y/N]

Ein braces him self as he hovers his index on the Y button. He closes his eyes and grits his teeth as he presses it. An immediate pain enters his head. This time however, he prepared himself. The bracing helped with the pain. All the knowledge came flooding in. When it finally stopped, Ein was much less nauseated. In fact, he's smiling with glee right now. He'd just discovered how to create a weapons and tools for himself. Those Grimm won't know what hit them.

Before that though, one final ping from the tutorial catches his attention.

[THAT IS ALL FOR THE TUTORIAL. THE REST YOU WILL HAVE TO FIGURE OUT ON YOUR OWN. SOME THINGS ONE MUST KEEP IN MIND IS THAT XP DOES NOT SAVE.

IF YOU HAVE XP, SPEND IT. YOU HAVE AN INVENTORY. YOU JUST HAVE TO HOLD OUT YOUR HAND AND SAY "PORTER".

TO CRAFT A PLACABLE OBJECT, ONE MUST GROUP UP THE NECESSARY MATERIALS FOR THE OBJECT AND INTERACT WITH THE MATERIALS.

MAY YOU LIVE A GLORIOUS LIFE.

UNTIL NEXT TIME.]

"Heh, yeah. 'Till next time." He says before opening his Menu. "Hmm... I have 225 XP right now... What would be the best thing to spend it on..." He puts his hand on his chin as he thinks. He thought for a while until he made a decision.

"Sprint will be necessary, I think. Agility was already his strongest stat, might as well boost it further." He presses sprint on his Menu and a panel opens up.

[SPRINT REQUIRES 30 XP TO LVL UP.]

"Right. Put 30 XP into Sprint."

[SPRINT HAS LEVELED UP.]

[SPRINT. {AVAILABLE TO EVOLVE AT MAX LVL}

-WHEN ACTIVE, GRANT (+1) --> +2 AGILITY TO THE USER.

-WHEN ACTIVE, GRANT (10%) --> 14% SPEED TO THE USER.

SKILL COST: 2 STP PER SECOND

COOLDOWN: 3 MINUTES IN BATTLE

1 MINUTE OUT OF BATTLE

SKILL LVL: 2/5 |0/60 XP|]

[YOU HAVE 195 XP REMAINING]

Ein observes the panel keenly, taking in every detail of the panel. "I see. Looks like the XP requirement doubles every level." He says inquisitively before continuing. "In that case, level up Luck, (First Blood), and (Calm Mind) once."

[LUCK HAS GONE UP BY ONE.]

(0/60 XP)

[FIRST BLOOD HAS LEVELED UP.]

[FIRST BLOOD. {AVAILABLE TO EVOLVE AT MAX LVL}

-WHEN IN A FIGHT TO THE DEATH, THIS SKILL GRANTS (+2) --> +4 TO EVERY STAT EXCEPT FOR LUCK.

-WHEN YOU HIT FIRST IN ANY FIGHT, YOU GAIN (+3) --> +5 TOTAL DAMAGE FOR THE REST OF THE FIGHT.

SKILL COST: NONE

COOLDOWN: NONE

SKILL LVL: 2/20 |0/100 XP|]

[CALM MIND HAS LEVELED UP.]

[CALM MIND.

-WHEN IN A FIGHT TO THE DEATH, NUMBS USER'S EMOTIONAL QUALITIES.

-WHEN IN STEALTH AGAINST GRIMM, (-10%) --> -14% DETECTION RATE.

SKILL COST: NONE

COOLDOWN: NONE

SKILL LVL: 2/10 |0/60XP|]

[YOU HAVE 65 XP REMAINING.]

Ein once again analyzed thoroughly, causing him to realize something. "Looks like levelling up luck's different. It only went up by 10 instead of doubling." He mulls over this fact before putting his mind to something else.

His remaining XP.

"Hmm..." He considers his options. He could level up (Calm Mind), (Sprint), or (Luck) again. Option one, (Calm Mind), but does he really need it? an extra -4% detection rate won't be too useful, and it would seem like a waste. He crosses that option out.

It was a toss-up between dumping all his XP either on (Sprint) or (Luck). On one hand, (Luck)'s XP threshold would only increase by ten per level but is unreliable at best. How much could one extra luck really do? But on the other side of the spectrum, is one extra luck that much of a boost?

On the other hand, was (Sprint). With an extra level put into it, he could get an additional +1 agility and 4% speed, and can evolve if he invested enough to it. It was a low-level evolution too, so the amount of XP he'd need to invest to evolve (Sprint) wouldn't be as much as say, (First Blood).

Yeah, this wasn't a toss-up at all. He thought to himself, dumping all his points into (Sprint).

[SPRINT HAS LEVELED UP.]

[SPRINT. {AVAILABLE TO EVOLVE AT MAX LVL}

-WHEN ACTIVE, GRANT (+2) --> +3 AGILITY TO THE USER.

-WHEN ACTIVE, GRANT (14%) --> 18% SPEED TO THE USER.

SKILL COST: 2 STP PER SECOND

SKILL LVL: 3/5 |5/120 XP|]

[YOU HAVE 0 XP REMAINING]

"Alright, I'm ready to go." In response to that, the dark void shakes as a light emanating crack forms in front of Ein. The void continues to shake until the crack was big enough to him to walk through.

"Phew... Let's do this." That was all he said before walking out.

---

Holy shit, Mel uploaded?!

Yeah, it's ya boi. This story is the remake of my previous, shittier story (I reread it just a few weeks ago and oh my GOD it was so fucking buns I hated it).

Anyways, I'm just here to insert a little warning that this chapter is where the story starts changing massively. Instead of the shitty power fantasy of the previous iteration of BKR, this one will be much more focused on proper characterization of my OCs and not delegating Luna into the base 'personality-less love interest' role.

Also, there will be more references (I am fucking brainrotted)

One chapter a week, hopefully, every thursday at 11:00 PST

If you've read the original BKR, skip to chapter 4 since that's where the changes actually become relevant.

Aight, bye! Thanks for reading.
