The city had grown quiet again, but not peaceful. Mikey's mother had been struggling to live normally, unaware that the storm was closing in.
Kang had tracked her—not for her own worth, but to punish Mikey indirectly, to break him psychologically before the next confrontation.
The Attack
It was evening. Mikey's mom was walking home from work when a shadow detached itself from the alley. Kang's presence was silent, almost predatory.
One second, she was walking.
The next, a Black Serpent clinch sent her sprawling, a knee striking the side of her body.
She struggled, panic in her eyes, as Kang's twisted grin appeared.
"This… is what happens when you make monsters of yourself, Mikey," Kang whispered, cold as ice.
Before anyone could intervene, Kang's clinch delivered a final, fatal strike. Her body collapsed. The street was silent except for the drip of blood onto the concrete.
The Fallout
Mikey arrived moments too late. His hands trembled as he fell to his mother's side, the weight of her death crushing him. Anger, grief, and helplessness surged through him.
Jin appeared just in time, his cocky demeanor replaced with grim determination.
"We can't let this go unanswered," Jin said, eyes blazing.Mikey clenched his fists, knuckles white. "He's going to pay. No mercy."
Stakes Raised
Kang has now attacked someone Mikey loves, making the conflict deeply personal.
Mikey's motivation is fueled by grief and rage, pushing him to fight harder.
Jin is still calculating, ready to step in—but the emotional weight is all Mikey's.
