I waited for Atlas to tell me he was bluffing, and only trying to see how I'd react to that piece of information, but the grim expression on his face said otherwise.
"No, no, no, this can't be happening," I mumbled repeatedly, shaking my head.
Indeed, I had heard of second-chance mates. However, this most often only occurred when the previous mate was deceased or there was a complete rejection. I had yet to reject Kaiden's bond. Although he rejected me, I reckoned accepting the rejection wasn't a big deal to him, hence he didn't force it on me.
Nonetheless, it was confusing. Atlas had a mate. Sophia was his mate. How the hell was I mated to him, too?
I had never heard of anyone having two mates at the same time, not even an Alpha.
