"I don't know what pack house you're coming from, but this is the north, and the rules here are kind of stringent. We hold traditions and hierarchical structures in high regard. So, you can't disobey the ranks higher than you are." She murmured, peering down at me.

Imogen? Inogen? What was her name again? I believed it was the former. It made more sense.

She was only a few inches taller than I was, but she made me look as though I was really short as she continued to gaze at me.

I gave a slight shrug. I was accustomed to strict rules in the pack house. After all, I was coming from the number one strictest pack in the West. Rankings were often passed from parents to children. Since my father was a gamma, it made sense that I would be one too, as it was an inherited trait, although one could still earn it through strength or merit.
