Chapter 27 - Chapter 27 S.H.I.E.L.D Agent

In 2014, two years after the Battle of New York, the HYDRA organization had been fully exposed. Led by Dr. Arnim Zola, HYDRA launched the "Insight Project," sparking fierce battles with S.H.I.E.L.D. across the globe.

The once-feared organization now began to crumble. One by one, secret HYDRA strongholds were revealed to the public, while S.H.I.E.L.D operated quietly in the shadows.

After the Insight Project, the world had effectively become a battlefield between S.H.I.E.L.D and HYDRA. Yet, compared to HYDRA's global reach, S.H.I.E.L.D's forces seemed limited—only a handful of top agents and their teams remained.

Under the leadership of Director Phil Coulson, S.H.I.E.L.D continued to secretly maintain world peace. At that moment, Coulson was in a secret S.H.I.E.L.D base, dressed in a sharp suit, his receding hairline faintly visible, and a calm, friendly smile on his face.

In front of him floated a high-tech tablet displaying a 3D map. Coulson, newly promoted to Director and renowned for his legendary experience, studied the display intently, a frown forming on his face. Recent HYDRA activity had put him on high alert. Although multiple satellites monitored HYDRA, Coulson had no idea why they were targeting Document 084.

"Director Coulson, are you still working on Document 084?"

A soft voice interrupted him. Skye, her hair blonde and soft, looked beautiful and alert, blending Eastern and Western features perfectly. She wore a tight combat uniform that highlighted her heroic presence while accentuating her striking beauty.

"Skye, haven't you rested yet?" Coulson turned to her, his iconic smile filled with concern.

"Director Coulson, have you forgotten? I'll soon be on field duty."

Melinda May, standing behind Skye, gave Coulson a scrutinizing look, worry in her eyes.

"Sorry, I've been busy with the Alexandria mission," Coulson admitted, patting his forehead. His expression grew serious, his eyes deep—a trait he'd learned from former Director Nick Fury. Deep eyes conveyed majesty and mystery.

"Former S.H.I.E.L.D agent Browning will sell intelligence in three days. The intel involves Document 084," Skye reported, her gaze serious. She had become a fully competent S.H.I.E.L.D agent, capable of completing Coulson's assignments efficiently.

"Very well. In three days, we'll set our defenses and use Browning to draw HYDRA out," Coulson said, nodding as he began formulating a plan.

Meanwhile, in an alley in Virginia, the air rippled, and a figure in a white quantum battle suit materialized, landing on the ground.

"2014, right?" Allens murmured, surveying his surroundings. Virginia, on the eastern U.S. coast, was quieter than New York, but more developed than in 2008.

He inspected his quantum battle suit. A 3D console appeared on his left wrist, and with two swift commands, he compressed his body into a keychain-sized form, hanging it around his neck.

Quantum travel was dangerous—chaotic disarray in the quantum realm could erase anyone. Even with a quantum suit, unrestricted travel was impossible.

"Inhumans… here I come," Allens said with a dark smile, checking his wristwatch and focusing on the street ahead.

Exiting the alley, he passed a clothing store. Flicking his hand, the black suits in the display shattered the window.

"Not bad," he muttered, donning a black suit to cover his muscular form. The illusion he cast masked the destruction, keeping the store unaware.

"Rogers must know I've traveled through time. If so, I'll need to stay hidden for a while," Allens thought, blending into the crowd as an ordinary Westerner.

"Rogers, this time, I won't let you stop my plan."

His face hardened. According to his memories of 2014, the Terrigen Crystals had reappeared, marking the peak of Inhumans' activity—each with superhuman abilities.

As he walked, a stylish woman in a short skirt and high heels passed him. She entered a bar, her figure devilishly captivating.

"Interesting… a suitable substitute," Allens mused. "Inhumans, after all, are in my pocket."

His eyes followed her into the bar, amusement in his gaze. The rhythm of the universe—the underlying laws of everything—resonated in his mind.

"Beautiful movements… a wonderful hunt awaits."

His suit morphed into a jet-black hooded robe, fog-like, hiding him completely. Allens marveled at his improved illusion abilities—they surpassed even the advanced 3D projections of future guests he had encountered.

Inside Alice's Bar, Lena, the woman obsessed with the mysterious "Acute Eyes," sat in despair, staring at her glass of red wine. She had once believed Acute Eyes was a superhuman, but in reality, he had been HYDRA agent John Garrett—no powers, just intelligence and manipulation.

Now Garrett was dead, but Lena still considered herself special. A few days ago, a madman had told her of a magical object—the Obelisk—that could unlock her latent abilities.
