Chapter 35 - Judging Bob (Part 1)

After possessing Peter these past few days, Meng Ran had been cultivating his technique to digest the acquired power.

A few days had passed since the last phase of the plan began. With experience on their side, George and the police were handling the situation more smoothly this time, having already cleared and controlled most of the affected areas within a few days.

Meng Ran decided to go and judge Bob today. He'd let the black boss live for long enough; it was time for him to go to hell.

Meng Ran had been entangled with the Crocodile Gang for quite some time. It was time to accelerate the process and eliminate them as quickly as possible.

Night fell. Meng Ran skillfully climbed out the window and headed to the location he'd agreed on with Gwen, as he'd promised to take her along.

When Meng Ran arrived at the agreed spot, Gwen hadn't yet shown up. He sat down cross-legged and began to meditate, waiting for her arrival.

Soon, a beautiful and graceful figure swung towards him on a web. Meng Ran opened his eyes and stood up.

Gwen landed gracefully, her long legs carrying her closer to Meng Ran. She exclaimed, "Were you cultivating that technique just now when you were cross-legged? It's amazing; I could feel a sense of profoundness from afar."

Meng Ran smiled. "That's right, it's that technique. It helps me control my power better."

Gwen was even more surprised to hear this.

Meng Ran continued, "Today, we're going to judge Bob. Once we deal with him, we'll be halfway to our goal."

"Let's go now. Follow behind me." Meng Ran said to Gwen while reconfirming the route.

Gwen nodded in response and got ready.

Looking at the route planned by Little White, Meng Ran pushed off with his feet and dashed towards Bob's location. Gwen swung on her web, following behind him.

Bob sat at his desk, eyes closed, leaning back in his chair, his brow furrowed.

He had just hung up the phone with Blackwater Security Company, and the unpleasant conversation made him feel very irritable.

Bob had just called to question Blackwater Security Company about why the "evil spirit" hadn't been dealt with yet. Two more of his old cronies had been killed by the evil spirit, and the entire Crocodile Gang was now in a state of panic, each member fearing they would be the next to die.

Bob was also at a loss. The evil spirit was not only powerful but also elusive and unpredictable. He had absolutely no means or strength to fight it.

Of course, Bob knew that Meng Ran was systematically taking them down.

The police, in conjunction with Meng Ran, would eliminate the illegal forces controlled by each gang leader after killing them, thus eradicating the root of the chaos.

But even knowing this, Bob was still helpless. He did want to delay things, hoping that the assassins from Blackwater Security Company would eliminate Meng Ran.

However, Blackwater Security Company's efficiency this time was surprisingly low. Not only had they failed to complete the mission, but they were also demanding compensation and additional payment.

According to them, the Crocodile Gang's provided information was incorrect, leading to a misjudgment of the evil spirit's strength, which resulted in the first mission's failure.

Although they stated that the commission was still active and that they would send more advanced assassins, they demanded compensation for the losses and additional money to pay for the more advanced assassins' fees.

Bob was both angry and helpless. He had no choice but to wire the money again, while urging them to deal with the evil spirit as soon as possible.

Thinking about the unpleasant call he'd just had, Bob opened his eyes and lit a cigar.

The threat of the evil spirit was like a knife hanging over his head, ready to fall at any moment, which had made it difficult for Bob to sleep or eat lately.

"Crow! Anything unusual?" Bob asked Crow via the walkie-talkie.

Crow stood on the roof of the villa, looked around at the guards and the bodyguards on patrol, and said into the walkie-talkie, "Nothing unusual, boss."

"Good, report anything to me," Bob replied. Hearing Crow's voice, he immediately felt a little more at ease.

During this time, he had been constantly reinforcing the guards around him to give himself a greater sense of security. Putting down the cigar, Bob stood up; sitting for so long had made his lumbar spine feel uncomfortable.

Bob rubbed his lower back, preparing to "relax" and then rest.

Meng Ran and Gwen were now outside the villa.

He and Gwen stood on a small rise not far away, looking at the villa in front of them.

"Little White, send the full villa map to Red Rose," Meng Ran instructed.

"Received. Map sent to Red Rose," Little White replied.

Meng Ran said to Gwen, "I've sent the map to Red Rose. We'll split up in a moment, just follow her instructions."

"Don't be polite to those armed bodyguards and guards. None of them are clean."

Gwen nodded, listening to Meng Ran's instructions.

For these criminals, she certainly didn't need to show any mercy. They were at the level that needed to be killed.

Meng Ran thought of something else and said, "Right, there are some people in this villa who were coerced or trafficked here. There are both men and women, and they're living a miserable existence here. I've made marks."

"After we've cleared out the guards, I'll go find Bob. You go and rescue these people and help them leave."

"After you've made the arrangements, come find me, and we'll judge Bob together."

"Also, remember to be careful."

"Okay, I understand. Don't worry." Gwen nodded and smiled at Meng Ran.

After the arrangements were made, Meng Ran and Gwen set off separately from opposite ends, starting from the outside and clearing the entire villa as quickly as possible.

Both Meng Ran and Gwen activated Ghost Stealth, wielding their daggers, silently harvesting lives within the shadows.

Crow sat in the monitoring room on the roof. The only light in the dim room came from the screens.

The dim light shone on Crow's face, illuminating a young, stern, and cold visage.

He held a glass, sipping his drink while watching the surveillance monitors, on guard for any unexpected events.

The monitor screens showed a scene of peace, with guards on their normal patrol, nothing out of the ordinary.

On the table in front of the monitors sat a small speaker, from which came the sounds of intense applause and heavy breathing. Listening closely, the voice was none other than Bob's.

Hearing the heavy breathing, a hint of envy and anticipation actually flickered across Crow's cold face. He also longed to be "played with" by Mr. Bob like that.

This was Crow's secret, a secret even Bob didn't know. It was the only thing Crow had ever hidden from Bob.

Crow belonged to Bob, but Bob didn't belong to Crow.

Bob's Crow was a man of few words. He had been taken off the streets and raised within the Crocodile Gang by Bob since he was young.

You could say that this young Crow was Bob through and through. If Bob told him to kill himself, he wouldn't hesitate for a second. His only reason for living was Bob.

It was precisely because of this that Bob entrusted him with the important task of protecting his life.

Crow looked at the still and peaceful surveillance footage, put away his small speaker, and placed the cup in his hand onto the table.

The time was almost up. He needed to go out and take a look around, to make sure nothing unexpected happened.

As he pushed open the door to the surveillance room and walked out, a large hand suddenly reached out from behind and covered his mouth. At the same time, a sharp dagger slashed across his neck.

Blood gushed out from the ruptured wound, staining the roof in front of him red. The splattered blood droplets were like stars, mirroring the night sky.

The large hand released him. Crow's lifeless body fell into a pool of blood. The speaker in his pocket was soaked with blood, and its sound changed from a wheeze to a faint electrical hum.
