Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 - The Attack

Chapter 7 - The Attack

The air reeked of blood. Not mine. Not yet. Suddenly Jayden voice cut through the air.

"Rogues! East border!"

Xavier's head snapped to the sound, and then he was in motion, stalking out of the room towards the forest with predatory grace, without thinking, I followed, my pulse like a drumbeat in my head.

By the time we reached the tree line, chaos reigned - warriors clashing with massive snarling shapes, claws flashing in the moonlight. One rogue lunged for Xavier's blind side, I didn't think I moved, My blade burying deep in the rogue's ribs before it could touch him.

When the body hit the ground, xavier turned to me and for a second I saw something raw in his gaze. Not the Alpha, Not the man. The wolf.

He closed the distance, seizing my wrist and pinning me back against the tree. He chest pressed into mine. His hot breath on my neck "You listen to me". His voice was thick with possession. You don't leave my side in a fight ever. You're mine to protect.

My body burned underneath him. "When this fight is over. We'll talk".

A shout yanked us apart, Jayden called for backup. Xavier kissed me deeply and then left, tearing a rogue apart, I was shocked. This wasn't his wolf that kissed me. It was Xavier not his wolf. Oh my...."

My hands still shook - not from fear, but from the heat he left behind... He was officially driving me insane, I watched him fight alongside his warriors and Jayden. Tearing rogues apart like paper.

I stood there when suddenly, I saw Maya being taken away slowly and quietly by the rogues, my eyes widened as I run towards them. "Maya!!!" As I screamed it drew more attention, as Xavier and the others saw.

The were almost dragging Maya to the pack borders for escape, I was fuming, raging, I screamed, a piercing scream shooting through the atmostphere, as I shifted into into my wolf.

A white one with blue eyes, I lunged on the rogues, clawing their faces, skin tearing and bones breaking and killing them brutally.

As Maya fled to safety, I was slightly injured, I walked toward where the fight was taking place, my white fur reeking blood, my fangs baring with blood dripping, snarling and growling as I howled.

Xavier and the others turn to see us as Maya run into his arms, crying. I could see slight amusement in his eyes, and then I collapsed there onto the grounds, shifting back into my human form, naked as fuck, as my shoulder bleed from the dagger cut.

My fore head slightly bruised, As his warriors and Jayden rushed over, the other warriors fighting of the rest of the rogues.

"Merida!" Jayden shouted kneeling beside me as he and the warriors checked my injuries, fingers ghosted over bruises blooming across my ribs, along the curve of my hips.

"She's hurt here - careful". One of the warrior's voice muttered. Pressing gently over a gash on my thigh. Another grunted "She's burning up, we need to-"

A furious growl cutted through the air. "Get your damn hands off 'MY WOMAN' Everyone's eyes snapped up, Xavier strolled out of the shadows, eyes blazing, power rolling off him like a wave. The warriors froze, caught between instinct and confusion.

Jayden smirked "Your woman? That's new, Since when was that official?" Xavier didn't slow down "Not a claim" He said darkly, shoving through the men and shrugging off his coat. "A fact"

He removed his coat wrapping it around my nude form, scooping me into his arms with possessiveness. Jayden's smirk deepened. "Huh. Possessive much?" Xavier's jaw clenched, "Call it what you want, she's mine"

I was half unconscious, caught the rubling of his voice against my ear, the heat of his chest searing into my bare skin as he carried me away. Whispers rippled through the pack, but he didn't care. His hold only tightening carrying me towards the pack house.

Jayden fell into step, his smug grin infuriatingly smug. "Careful Alpha. You keep holding her like that and the whole pack is gonna know what she means to you beneath your 'rude facade'.

Xavier didn't bother looking at him. "Let them". His voice low, carrying a dangerous edge. "They can know she's mine - and that anyone who touches who will not live to regret it.

Jayden chuckled, chuckling in his head "Damn you're worse than I thought, she's not even officially yours yet and you're already ready to kill for her".

He wrapped his arms around me possesively. And Jayden chuckled "Careful alpha"

His smirk annoyingly knowing. "You keep shielding her like that and everyone's gonna know she's yours" "Good" Xavier growled.

"They should know, they should know she's mine and that anyone stupid enough to touch her will bleed for it".

Jayden chuckled, a flicker of surprise in his gaze. "You're serious" Xavier's eyes flickered to him. "Dead serious".

I let myself melt in his arms, every step he took felt like a silent vow, one he didn't need to speak for me to feel.

The pack doors swang opened, light spilling into the courtyard as warriors stepped aside for their Alpha, Xavier stepped inside and stopped cold.

Seraphine stood in the middle if the hall.

Her gaze swept over my body covered in his coat, before lifting to his face, her lips curled into a slow venomous smile, but her eyes burned with something darker.

She didn't say a word, she didn't need to, the silent promise in her glare was clear.

This isn't over.
