Time passedāminutes turned to hours.
Two hours⦠three hours⦠finally, after five full hours, the ritual was over.
The Old Kai wiped sweat from his forehead, exhausted. "Unbelievable⦠your potential runs so deep, even I couldn't bring it all out. This is my limit."
Bardock opened his eyes slowly, calm as ever. He'd felt every change within his body during the long meditation. A warm current flowed through himāpowerful, but not uncomfortable.
"I can feel it," Bardock said, standing up. "Your technique really works. My strength has grown. But⦠that's all you've got, huh?" His tone wasn't mocking, just blunt.
The Old Kai chuckled nervously and quickly backed away, retreating to the other Kais. "Heh⦠you doubted me before, didn't you? Then watch carefully. You'll see what my ritual has awakened in him!"
The other Supreme Kais focused their eyes on Bardock, tense with anticipation.
Bardock clenched his fists. "Hrrraaahhh!!"
The ground split beneath him. The sky shook. A storm of energy burst from his body, shaking the entire Sacred World of the Kais.
The power was overwhelmingāso vast it felt like the world itself might shatter.
"W-what is this?!" East Kai Shin gasped, his throat caught by invisible pressure.
"This can't be⦠this kind of power, from a mortal?!" South Kai Pava's voice trembled as the crushing aura pinned him down like mountains.
Even the Grand Supreme Kai stared in shock. Since taking his role, he'd only ever felt this kind of pressure from one beingāLord Beerus.
The world of the Kais roared in chaos, winds tearing like blades. Only the Old Kai forced a smirk, though his calm was mostly for show. Inside, he was shaken too.
(Beerus⦠you must have sensed this by now, right? This Bardock is my creation. Even you might struggle against him!)
The Old Kai burst into laughter. "Ha-ha-ha-ha! A super warrior born from my hands!"
Meanwhile, Bardock's aura didn't stop growing. It spread beyond the Kai realm, leaking into the universe belowāthen even further, beyond dimensions.
Far away, in the realm of the God of Destruction, Beerus sat up, golden eyes narrowing. Whis tilted his head, sensing the same aura.
"This energy⦠crossing dimensions⦠from a mortal?" Whis murmured, surprised. "Lord Beerus, his power is almost at your level."
Beerus smirked, finally looking interested. "Heh⦠a Saiyan, was it? This is getting good."
He stretched his arm and tapped Whis' back. "We've eaten, we've rested⦠time to move. Let's meet this Bardock."
"As you wish, Lord Beerus," Whis said with a smile. His staff glowed, releasing seven-colored light.
In an instant, the two vanished, streaking across the cosmos like a rainbow comet, heading straight for Bardock.
Supreme Kai Realm
Bardock's raging aura finally reached its peak and then settled down.
The shockwaves across the Sacred World of the Kais faded as his breathing calmed.
He stood tall, wrapped in a blazing white aura with sparks of blue lightning dancing around him. The sheer pressure rolling off his body was beyond imagination.
"ā¦So this is my power now?" Bardock muttered, pulling his energy back inside. He could feel the massive change. Endless strength surged within him, far more than before.
The barrier he had struggled against for so long⦠was finally shattered.
With the Old Kai's potential unlock, Bardock had broken through to a whole new level. What once took decades of training and countless battles, he had gained in just five hours.
The Old Kai sighed with relief, wiping his forehead, then grinned proudly. "Heh-heh-heh⦠amazing, isn't it? Now you see what I can do."
The East Supreme Kai, the West Supreme Kai, and the South Supreme Kai stood frozen in disbelief. Today they had seen Bardock crush Majin Buu⦠and now, with the Old Kai's help, his power had grown even more. It felt like a dream.
The Old Kai puffed out his chest, stroking his beard. "Well? You doubted me before. Still think this old man's useless?"
The three younger Kais exchanged looksāno longer doubtful. The Old Kai had proven himself.
The Grand Supreme Kai dismissed them, leaving only himself, the Old Kai, and Bardock together.
Bardock exhaled, letting the last traces of his aura fade. "This new power⦠I'll need time to master it. I can probably use ninety percent of it right now, but getting to one hundred will take training⦠and a worthy opponent."
For a brief moment, Bardock thought: Maybe even Beerus wouldn't be able to stop me now. But he quickly shook the thought away. That was arrogance talking. Beerus' power was on another level entirely.
The Old Kai shuffled forward with a smile. "Not bad at all. Even after gaining so much strength, you're keeping a clear head. That's good, Bardock."
The Grand Supreme Kai nodded. "Bardock, you had questions before. Go on, ask him."
Bardock explained his true purposeāabout time, about the future.
The Old Kai's expression didn't change. He seemed unsurprised. "Just as I thought. You don't belong to this era. When I unlocked your potential, I sensed it. I figured you were from the future, maybe a few thousand years ahead⦠but five million years?" He shook his head. "That's something else."
Bardock stayed quiet, waiting for an answer.
The Old Kai sighed. "I'm afraid I can't help you return. Unlocking potential is all I can do. Time travel⦠that's beyond me."
Bardock nodded slightly. He expected as much. The Kais had the Time Rings, but even those had limitsānone could travel across millions of years.
"It seems staying here is pointless then," Bardock said calmly.
"Hold on," the Old Kai added quickly. "I can't help you, but⦠there are others above us. Gods greater than Supreme Kais or even Gods of Destruction. They might have the power to send you back. Butā¦"
Bardock's eyes narrowed. "Above Kais and Destroyers? You mean⦠Angels? The Grand Priest? Even⦠Zeno?"
The Old Kai chuckled, stroking his beard again, but his face grew uneasy. "Exactly. Whether that knowledge is a blessing or a curse⦠we'll see."
