"So, you really think this God of Destruction you keep talking about can beat me?"

Bardock narrowed his eyes, his tone mocking as he looked at the Old Supreme Kai.

He wasn't about to let this geezer act like he had all the answers. If anything, Bardock wanted to crush that smug attitude even harder. He knew the Old Kai could sense some of his power, but only what Bardock allowed him to feel. The truth was, Bardock himself didn't even know the limits of his strength. Still, he was certain— even if Beerus came here himself, there's no way he'd go down easy.

"Tch… reckless words. You really are strong—stronger than any mortal I've ever seen. But compared to a God of Destruction, you're still far behind," the Old Kai said, stroking his little beard, pretending to be wise. Then he smirked, clearly scheming something.

"Still… don't you want to know what this old man can do?" he said with a laugh. "You must've heard the legend of the Z Sword before you pulled it out."

Bardock frowned but stayed quiet, letting him talk.

"The legend of the Z Sword?" Shin, the East Supreme Kai, tilted his head. "Wait, wasn't that just a myth?"

"Shin, be quiet and listen to the ancestor," West Supreme Kai Leila said, placing a hand on his shoulder.

"The legend isn't fake," the Old Kai explained. "It just got twisted over the ages. The real story is this—whoever pulled out the Z Sword would release me. And the one who freed me has a chance to gain the greatest power in the universe."

The Kais gasped in shock.

"You're saying… you can give me power greater than a God of Destruction?" Bardock asked calmly.

There was no greed or excitement in his eyes, only cold composure. That alone made the Old Kai admire him more.

"Yes… this old man can unlock hidden potential. No matter who you are, once I draw out your true strength, your power will rise to a whole new level! You freed me, so you're worthy. Well, Bardock—do you want your potential unleashed?" The Old Kai puffed out his chest, trying to sound confident.

In truth, he was already thinking ahead. Beerus must've noticed his seal was broken. That lazy cat wouldn't ignore it. If Bardock grew stronger, maybe he could stand against Beerus—revenge for the sealing.

Meanwhile, in the God of Destruction's Realm…

A massive hot spring steamed in the palace of Universe 7's God of Destruction.

Inside, a purple, hairless cat-like figure soaked in the waters with a towel wrapped around him, stretching lazily.

"Haaah… finally awake, Lord Beerus," Whis said politely, standing at the side with his staff.

Beerus yawned. "Mmm… I was having a good nap, but suddenly I felt that old man's seal break. Tch. What a pain."

He tilted his head toward Whis. "So, anything interesting happen while I was asleep?"

Whis thought for a moment. "Well… nothing too big. But there was one incident. A little wizard named Babidi accidentally created a powerful creature… Majin Buu. He went on a rampage, caused plenty of trouble, even forced the Supreme Kais to step in. North Kaioshin died trying to stop him."

Beerus' face didn't change. The death of a Supreme Kai meant little to him. As long as one remained, his own life wasn't in danger.

"Majin Buu, huh? Sounds amusing." He smirked, leaning back against the rocks. "If he killed a Kai, then maybe he's got some bite. Hmph. I'll check him out later. Who knows? Maybe I'll make him do some of my work while I take another nap."

Beerus chuckled to himself, already treating Buu like a possible servant.

"Lord Beerus, that might not be so simple," Whis said softly, lowering his staff to the ground.

Beerus Watches Bardock

The jewel on Whis' staff glowed green, and a projection appeared.

It showed Bardock's battle against Majin Buu.

Beerus leaned forward, eyes narrowing. "That pink blob… is that Majin Buu? Hmph. Doesn't look like much. But this human-looking guy—who is he?"

"Yes, Lord Beerus," Whis replied. "The pink one is Majin Buu. The warrior fighting him is a Saiyan named Bardock."

"Saiyan?" Beerus tilted his head, thinking. "That name doesn't ring a bell. I've never heard of that race."

Whis nodded. "The Saiyans live in the Vampa System, on Planet Sadala. They've risen quietly over the last few decades. Bardock is their king. In the end, Majin Buu was defeated by him."

The vision shifted. Now it showed Bardock pulling the Z Sword from its pedestal.

Beerus' eyes widened slightly. He remembered that seal—it was his own work. Almost no one in the universe should be able to break it. For a moment, he thought the Supreme Kais had disobeyed him. But no—it was Bardock who freed the Old Kai.

"Well, well… he killed that monster and broke my seal. Interesting." Beerus' grin widened.

Even from a projection, he could tell Bardock's strength was no joke. Majin Buu didn't impress him, but Bardock… Bardock was different. Beerus couldn't read his full power.

"Do you want to meet him now, Lord Beerus?" Whis asked, curious.

Beerus stretched lazily. "Not yet. I'll rest a little longer. Then I'll pay this Saiyan King a visit. He might make for a nice warm-up."

Then, suddenly, the image changed again.

Bardock's body glowed gold. His hair spiked up, his eyes turned green. Power exploded from him, shaking even the vision.

Beerus' eyes went wide. "Whis… what is that?!"

Whis smiled. "That is the Saiyan transformation called Super Saiyan. In that state, their power multiplies dozens of times over."

"What?!" Beerus nearly stood up in the bath. "A mortal race with a transformation that boosts strength more than tenfold? Ridiculous!" But even as he said it, his curiosity burned hotter than ever.

For the first time in ages, a mortal had truly caught his attention.

"Whis… what's the name of that planet again? Sand… something?"

"Planet Sadala, Lord Beerus," Whis answered, showing the image of the planet with his staff.

"Planet Sadala…" Beerus repeated, smirking. "Fine. I'll remember that."

He rose from the hot spring, purple aura flashing around him. The water instantly evaporated, and his God of Destruction attire appeared on his body.

"Keep an eye on this Bardock, Whis. Soon, I'll meet the so-called King of the Saiyans myself."

Whis bowed. "As you wish, Lord Beerus."

Back in the Sacred World of the Kais…

On a high cliff, Bardock sat cross-legged while the Old Supreme Kai began the ritual to unlock his hidden potential.

The Grand Supreme Kai and the three others—East, West, and South—watched from nearby, curious.

Bardock was already strong enough to destroy Majin Buu with ease. What heights would he reach once the Old Kai drew out his full potential?

Time passed slowly. An hour and a half slipped by, and the ritual still wasn't finished.

"Isn't this taking a bit too long?" East Kai Shin muttered.

"Could it be… that this ancestor is lying to us?" West Kai Leila frowned. "The ceremony just looks… strange."

South Kai Pava shook his head. "No. This is real. I want it too. I need my strength to rise again after what Buu did to us."

The Grand Kai finally spoke, calming them. "The potential inside each person is different. For someone like Bardock, whose power already surpasses normal limits, the process will naturally take longer. That only proves how deep his strength truly is."

The three younger Kais fell silent, realizing he was right.

This wasn't a trick. This was real.

And Bardock's true strength… was still waiting to awaken.
