"Ugh... I can't hold it anymore...!" groaned South Supreme Kai, his knees almost buckling under the weight of the Z Sword.

He struggled to stay upright, the sword dragging him down. East Supreme Kai Shin and West Supreme Kai Leila stood nearby, helpless to assist.

But then—

The Grand Supreme Kai stepped forward and caught the sword's hilt with one hand, easing the burden off the South Supreme Kai.

With the pressure gone, South Kai let out a deep sigh of relief. But along with that breath… came disappointment.

"So… the legend was a lie after all…"

If he didn't get it before, he understood now. The truth was clear.

The legend of the Z Sword—that whoever pulls it out gains the universe's greatest power—was false.

No… maybe it was the other way around.

Only someone who already had that kind of power could pull it out.

Like Bardock.

The Saiyan who defeated Majin Buu. The one who stood alone at the top of the universe.

South Supreme Kai said nothing more. His quiet, crushed expression said everything.

West Supreme Kai Leila, still staring at the sword, turned toward the Grand Supreme Kai.

"Lord Supreme Kai... did you know all along? Was the legend… fake?" she asked.

Shin looked on as well, waiting for an answer. The three of them had always trusted the Grand Supreme Kai. But now, it felt like he'd been hiding something.

"Legends are funny things," the Grand Supreme Kai said gently. "Over time, stories change. The truth gets twisted. The Z Sword... wasn't what everyone believed it to be."

He smiled and handed the broken sword back to Bardock.

"But soon, you'll see what's really inside it."

Bardock narrowed his eyes, studying the Supreme Kai carefully.

That guy just held the Z Sword like it was nothing…

(He's stronger than he looks. That grip—he's gotta be somewhere past ten thousand units of power… maybe even in the giga class.)

Bardock glanced at the sword in his hand again.

This wasn't the same Z Sword as in the original timeline. The seal felt far stronger. There was a strange divine energy still clinging to the blade, thick and ancient.

Even South Supreme Kai, whose power rivaled any of the others, could barely lift it.

(If this Supreme Kai sealed someone inside it five million years ago... his power must be insane.)

But Bardock shook the thought from his head. There was no point in wondering about it now.

It was time to act.

🔥 He raised his left hand.

A bright, white flame of energy ignited around his fingers, flaring up wildly. His aura surged.

He pressed that energy into the sword—channeling raw force to shatter whatever divine seal still remained.

With his hand gripping the sword's midpoint—

"HRAAAAH!!"

💥 CRACK!!

The Z Sword snapped in two.

"WHAAAAAAT?!!"

—Shin

—Leila

—South Supreme Kai

All three Supreme Kais were frozen, mouths hanging open, eyes bugging out.

(No way... no way... HE BROKE IT?!)

That was all they could think.

It didn't even feel real. They just stood there, their world completely flipped upside down. The sword that none of them could even lift... had been broken in half like a twig.

"Th-this… this can't be happening!" Shin stammered.

He looked like his whole identity had just crumbled with the sword.

South Supreme Kai was stunned silent—again.

West Supreme Kai Leila? Her admiration for Bardock had officially gone off the charts.

Her heart was racing. Her eyes sparkled. She was gone. Totally head over heels now.

Only the Grand Supreme Kai remained calm, a small smirk on his face.

Bardock dropped the broken halves of the sword to the ground.

For a moment, it was silent.

But then—just beneath everyone's notice—a small ripple of energy pulsed from the shattered sword.

⚡ And then…

"Aaaahhh... Finally! I'm free!!"

A sudden voice echoed through the air, shocking everyone.

The Supreme Kais turned around in disbelief.

Standing behind them was… someone new.

An old man. Short, hunched, wearing ancient Supreme Kai robes. His eyes were narrow, and he looked around with a big grin.

"After all these years… stuck in that damn sword… I'm finally out!" the old man said, stretching his back with a loud crack.

"Wh-who… who are you?!" Leila asked, confused.

"Where did you even come from?" Shin added.

None of them had ever seen this man before—not in any record or memory.

The old man glanced around.

"You must be the new generation," he said, hands behind his back. "Yeah… makes sense you wouldn't know me. I've been sealed away for a long, long time."

He looked around, eyes softening as he saw the world around him.

"This place… hasn't changed much."

Then his gaze landed on the Grand Supreme Kai.

"You, boy. I hope you haven't forgotten me."

The Grand Supreme Kai chuckled and scratched the back of his head.

"Of course not, ancestor."

"Ancestor?!"

—Shin

—Leila

—South Supreme Kai

They all shouted at once, their jaws dropping again.

"Wait, wait, wait—he's a Supreme Kai too?!" Shin asked.

"Not just a Kai… he's the ancestor of the Grand Supreme Kai?!" Leila gasped.

"H-How old is he…?!" South Supreme Kai whispered, stunned.

The old man just laughed, hands still behind his back.

"Feels good to be back…"

The Grand Supreme Kai explained with a calm voice:

"If you really want to trace it back… this old man is the Supreme Kai from fifteen generations before Shin's time."

The other Supreme Kais widened their eyes in shock.

Shin gasped:

"Fifteen generations ago?! That really makes him our ancestor!"

The younger Kais all lowered their heads, bowing with respect. For them, this was like meeting a godly forefather.

Leila, the West Supreme Kai, put the pieces together:

"So the real secret inside the Z Sword was… our ancestor all along."

The South Supreme Kai nodded with relief.

"So the legend is true. For so long we chased after rumors… but today, the mystery is finally revealed."

As the seal broke under Bardock's overwhelming strength, the Old Kai stepped out into the light once more.

Bardock, arms crossed, didn't care about their chatter. To him, this was expected. Just like the story he remembered.

When the Kais finished paying respects, Bardock finally spoke, his tone sharp:

"So this is the Supreme Kai from billions of years ago? Honestly… pretty disappointing."

The Kais froze. His words cut deep—because they knew Bardock wasn't wrong.

The Old Kai scowled, glaring at Bardock.

"Disappointing? Hmph! You dare look down on me, mortal? Do you even know who you're talking to?!"

He puffed up his chest, trying to act mysterious and wise, but Bardock saw through it.

Inside, the Old Kai was rattled. (That energy he's hiding… it's terrifying. This Saiyan isn't normal.)

Shin quickly stepped in, nervous.

"Please forgive him, ancestor! This is Bardock, the Saiyan who just defeated Majin Buu for us. He only pulled the sword to help us. If not for him—"

The Old Kai cut him off, waving his hand.

"Enough! Don't think I don't know what's happening outside. If it weren't for him freeing me, I wouldn't even bother with you youngsters!"

Shin winced, shoulders slumping. Leila frowned, clearly annoyed at the Old Kai's attitude. She'd grown up with Shin, and seeing him scolded like that didn't sit well with her.

The Old Kai, trying to regain dignity, turned back to Bardock.

"You really think I'm useless, boy? Let me tell you—while I may not be strong in battle, I have abilities no one else does."

Bardock narrowed his eyes.

"Then show me. How capable are you, old man?"

The room grew heavy with silence. Even the air seemed tense.

The Old Kai felt sweat on his forehead. He muttered, half to himself, half to Bardock:

"Tch… this mortal is too arrogant. But he should know… he's not the strongest in the universe."

Bardock tilted his head slightly.

"Oh? Then who is?"

The Old Kai smirked, trying to sound superior again.

"Among mortals, maybe few can challenge you. But among gods… there are the Gods of Destruction. One of them could wipe you out without effort."

The three Supreme Kais gasped. Shin's eyes widened in shock.

"God of Destruction…? What kind of god is that?"

The Old Kai slapped his forehead.

"Unbelievable. You don't even know? How did you become Supreme Kai?"

Shin lowered his head in shame. Leila quickly defended him:

"Don't blame Shin. He's young and has only been Supreme Kai for a short time. He hasn't learned everything yet."

The Old Kai sighed, muttering under his breath.

"These juniors today… they really can't take a scolding."
