Chapter 34 - Chapter 34

"...The anatomy of some monsters varies depending on the concentration of demonic energy or mana they accumulate and the environment in which they live, but they are still living beings. Their vital points remain their vital points.

You may wonder what happens with the undead? As the name says, they are living dead, whether it is a nucleus or a source of energy if it is destroyed they will cease to move which is equivalent to death.

That is the reason why you must know the monsters, and by the way the demonic and magical beasts, so you will be more than prepared for the final test when you have to return to Marrac Mountain..."

With the words about Marrac Mountain the atmosphere became tense and somber, but Professor Descar just continued with his class as if nothing had happened.

Mart couldn't help but think of conspiracies when he heard that they had to go to Marrac Mountain again; but since last night, since the moment he thought of the possible death of the director, many other possibilities arose, increasing Mart's alertness, thinking that a sinister could happen at any moment.

That day Mart went with Selis and Asfil to the cafeteria as usual. While eating Mart thought again about the matter of demonic cores, and compared it to his current studies.

"A demonic core, if I manage to further increase its durability, can function as a mana circle or an energy core, is a possibility, however, that would not be urgent if I had enough resources to have demonic artifacts to compensate for my lack of energy; in the latter case, an extensive knowledge of spells and curses, would help me defeat my enemies with a lower risk of a fatality befalling me."

-Mart; what are you thinking? -asked Selis, who had seen Mart lost in thought.

He did not hesitate and answered him partially in a relaxed tone:

-On the possibilities of increasing the efficiency of a spell, based on the formulas I read in a book.

-I see, now I can be sure that you were serious when you said you wanted to become a wizard. -Expressed Selis, who seemed to be happier than ever, Mart related it to the expensive mandrake he received.

Mart laughed and said:

-So I still saw myself as a possible warrior. But in the end I think I am better suited to demonic spells, we just need to find a demon with a solid strength and we will be invincible.

-Yes, that's right. -Confirmed Selis who agreed with Mart's words.

After chatting about trivial matters, Selis and Asfil left together, but as they walked away, Asfil gave Mart a sidelong glance, and it was easy for Mart to understand that look, since he had not yet given him an answer. But at that moment he was more concerned about the possible fall of the pillars of the republic.

----

A few days later, during the weekend, Mart was in his room, in his bed was Iristel sleeping, they had spent the whole night together, but this time Mart avoided disturbing her too much to prevent her from activating her pleasure queen trait, he didn't want to suffer another severe fatigue.

Mart was drawing a diagram with his blood on a Fertzal sheet on his desk.

The Fertzal leaf was made from the Fertzal tree that only grew in the cursed canyon. This leaf was used for its strength and ability to absorb demonic energy.

In a cage, in a corner, he had a live rat that was chewing on the metal bars without stopping. When he finished drawing the demonic diagram, Mart took some strands of the rat's hair out of his bag and placed them on the diagram to which he infused his demonic energy, the rat suddenly stopped gnawing on the metal bars, Mart increased the demonic energy used while observing with his demonic perception the changes that occurred, suddenly the rat began to ram the metal bars that imprisoned it in anger, Mart placed more energy on a single point of the diagram and the rat became drowsy, at the end Mart dropped a drop of blood in the center of the demonic diagram and the rat began to writhe in pain, from the seat on the desk, Mart threw a needle made of demonic steel powder at it and killed it with a single blow.

"I have not yet perfected the curses, but I can get an idea of their functions and how they alter the energy around the cursed beings, however, it requires an equivalent change and a well-structured diagram. At the moment, I can only write a cursed diagram of three points, the central point represents death, the other points represent frenzy or weakness, but I am not yet able to influence a being possessing demonic energy let alone mana, I have to keep perfecting my knowledge."

Mart closed the notebook in which he was writing and with demonic spell of fire made the sheet on which he had drawn the cursed diagram, which had a cost of 2 gold coin, disappear.

"I'll wait a year, before using another of the 9 Fertzal sheets again", thought Mart after remembering the price.

Mart looked at Iristel and she was watching him carefully with a beautiful smile, Mart got up and walked to the bed, sat on the edge and asked her:

Do you want to go out on the town with me?

-Yes, I want to do everything with you. -She said from where she was lying down.

-Get ready. We're leaving in two hours. -Mart told her.

She nodded, got up with her beautiful body uncovered and went into the bathroom, to take a bath before going out to find some ideal clothes in her own room, to accompany Mart.

"Tomorrow I will talk to the Duchess, I must at least find out what happened to my payment, it is more than 1500 gold coins; only a fool would give up such an amount of money, especially with how expensive the materials for the experiments are."
