Chapter 13 - The Demon Corps

The Demon Corps was active again.

Willie Lou, Chicago, Celie, and Terrance were as the current active members. Except this time Celie and Terrance vessel's were contained by the souls of Divine Gods.

After proving Willie Lou and Chicago they could assist with finding The Confederate Demon, the two Divine Gods were taken in with precautionary measures.

Willie Lou was paranoid of their presences for the next few days, but Chicago had grown comfortable with them around as his new mother and aunt.

Phuture knew that she wouldn't be able to replace a genuine mother, but she treated Chicago like her own children. She was beginning to regain most of her memories, remembering that she not only recently just given birth to a girl, but she had other children waiting for her return.

She spent a significant amount of time training during their rest days, given another three consecutive days off after activating The Realm again. They slept in a large house where she'd have a privilege of being in the master bedroom again. That assured a full night rest after eating three meals a day and bathing to soothe her body.

The Realm boosted her spiritual essence last time it was activated, but this time it seemed to have no affect on her spiritual ability.

Phuture, who was beginning to live as Celie, glared into her reflection of a beautiful brown skinned woman.

Celie and Terrance were both powerful...but they were both killed in the end. If they were even stronger than Willie Lou, that certainly meant someone or something with exceptional spiritual abilities defeated them.

A scrutinizing image of Willie Lou's spiritual pressure replayed in her mind.

Willie Lou's essence was remarkable! But I'm sure most of that is driven by rage...she's lost so many people and continued to be resilient enough to grow stronger.

Before majority of the members of Demon Corps were killed, Terrance was appointed as the leader after his father's death. The group assumed that Terrance would resume being the leader, but he'd gather the members together after a few nights rest to appoint someone else.

Willie Lou. There was several reasons behind the decision of making her leader, including her desire for hunting down the demon who killed her companions.

Willie Lou's determination to growing stronger trickled an affect on everyone else to follow her lead.

Chicago's drive was similiar to hers, except he wanted revenge against every single demon existing in the world. He expressed the desire of making demons extinct, slaughtering every single one of them until their existence was exterminated.

"I don't dare how long it takes...rather its next week, next year, or next decade...I'll kill every single demon that breathes our fresh our!" Chicago called out. "I'll kill them all!"

Chicago's hate for demons was mostly driven by the experience of seeing Taylor and Ray being killed.

Phuture's thoughts about Willie Lou and Chicago had been cut short when Terrance knocked on the master bedroom door.

"Come in!" Celie called out after being brought to reality by the knocking, coming out her world of thoughts and finishing her hair in the mirror.

Terrance came into the room and politely closed the door softly behind him, he said. "We're delaying our next meeting with America and Itaska, you've already used The Realm twice...so we'll reframe at least for a couple more weeks. Next time, I'll be the one to activate The Realm. Deal?"

"Deal." Phuture replied. "How's Willie Lou taking the leadership role?"

"She's ready." Terrance answered. "The first thing she did was let The American military know The Demon Corps is alive and running. So...The Confederate Demon knows we're alive.

"That's who you think killed us?"

Terrance nodded. "I'm almost sure The Confederate Demon had something to do with it...Terrance and Celie are stronger than normal soldiers. That means a demon likely killed them...and I have speculation that it's the demon they've been hunting for. It's just a guess...but I believe that proof will come soon enough."

"Yeah...I was just thinking that." Phuture frowned. "I'm sure Celie journaled something within that bible...it was probably towards the end and I couldn't get to it in time. Do you think we can trace him from that?"

"Anything that exists will leave traces behind." Terrance nodded. "Terrance's bible contained journals and rituals that he written towards his last days. I can remember that vividly, and I'm sure Celie's final days were similar to her brother."

"Well...time to ask Willie Lou for Celie's bible."

"Indeed, the power of all five-"

An impressive amount of spiritual energy caught their attention and silenced Terrance's words amid arrival.

Who's prowess is that? Three...no four seperate spiritual beings have found our location! Not only that...but each of them contain around the same amount of spiritual pressure I felt from Willie Lou in the slave school!

Terrance yanked Phuture down by the wrist, reacting in time to dodge an incoming molotov bursting through the window.

"Hey!" Willie Lou's spiritual essence appeared the same time as her voice sounded, she yelled. "Take these!"

Life threatening flames engufled the entire room in seconds, there was potentially four powerful demons outside, and Willie Lou's first reaction was to bring the bibles to safety.

Something's up with them damn bibles, something deeper than we've come to realize. Willie Lou nearly ran into a room full of flames to hand us the bag! She's willing to throw away her life for those bibles!

Phuture lunged out the room to evade an eruption of flames, shoving Willie Lou for her safety while making sure to grasp hold of the back. She needed possession of Celie's bible to finish reading, but she didn't expect Willie Lou to come tossing it up.

"Thanks!" Willie Lou called out. "We're gonna go handle those demons!"

Phuture shot her a glare then she disappeared, using her teleportion technique to change locations.

Phuture rotated that glare to Terrance, she asked. "Do we let her go?"

"She's already gone." Terrance grinned. "She's confident...I think we have no reason to worry. Besides, you can study Celie's bible while Willie Lou deals with the demons. I'll make sure everything is fine with them...you go get to work!"

"Alright!" Phuture nodded and reached inside the bag for Celie's bible.

Willie Lou and Chicago were already outside staring down the demons when Terrance came out the front door an enflamed home.

Chicago's yellow aura sparked while the demons prepared themselves to battle, developing their red spiritual energy for usage in just a moment.

"Chicago...let's see if all that training has paid off...don't let me down." Willie Lou said, she grinned at the arrival of Terrance's spiritual pressure. "I thought you'd stay inside with Phuture."

"I gotta make sure you guys don't die on the first mission back in order."

"Die?" Willie Lou rolled her eyes and tapped Chicago's shoulder with her own. "Your time to shine."

Chicago created an energy blade in his right hand, made of his yellow colored spiritual prowess.

He opened his eyes while stepping forward to face the demons, Chicago said. "Strike me."
