Chicago's breathing remained at the same steady pace, and he expressed no fear as the four demons pounced towards him.
Chicago jolted ahead like an accelerating lightning bolt, striking down one of the demons with his energy blade to begin the brawl.
Two of the demons activated an attack using their spiritual energy, using demon arts techniques to send shards of their defeated ally's blood towards Chicago.
Chicago sliced down each blood shard with ease, still being mindful to maintain a steady form of breathing to prevent from energy exhaust.
Another demon activated an energy attack, but this time the technique would be more wide ranged than before. The rest of the defeated demon's blood was consumed, being used as a wall of blood to captured Chicago.
Chicago looked up at the blood wall coming his direction, the wall nearly surrounded him and captured the young man inside. But he used his own spiritual prowess to swap places with the attacking demon last second, securing him within his own blood wall technique.
The other two demons yelled out and frustratingly rushed Chicago, making the biggest mistake of their demons lives.
Chicago's steady breathing remained throughout the entirety of his battle, until he took one final smooth inhale before counterattacking the two demons.
Chicago blitzed forward to match their energy, colliding his sparking yellow aura with their deep red demonic aura.
Their auras collided and more blood splattered on the ground after impact. The heads of both demon's dropped to the ground simultaneously as their bodies.
Chicago released his finaly exhale deeply, dropping his spiritual energy to his regularity after killing all four attacking demons.
"Chicago!" Willie Lou shouted in excitement while clapping her hands. "Yes! Our training has been more affective than I assumed!"
Chicago soaked in the flattery and thanked Willie Lou, then he proceeded to deal with the demon corpses. He burned them all to ashes one by one, sending them back to Hell where they belong.
"Why were they here?" Terrance asked. "Is it the bibles?"
Willie Lou quickly turned her head, impressed again by the Divine God's ability to know pretty much everything. She knew he contained tons of knowledge from his other life, and that he also contained the memories from her brothers life.
"What's the point in asking if you already know the answers?" Willie Lou questioned. "Is it to test me? Or you genuinely just want confirmation."
"Trust you, I trust you Willie Lou...I wouldn't mind having a little confirmation." Terrance said. "What exactly do they want with the bibles?"
"That's what I'm trying to figure out." Willie Lou answered. "I don't know what it is...hell I recently discovered they were after the bibles when Terrance brought me his before fleeing."
"Yes, and I remember him attempting to leave Celie's behind too but she wouldn't cough it up." Terrance rubbed his forehead as if being stressed out by the situations. "Why wouldn't they take the bible after killing her? Not only that...but why would she risk them securing the bible?
Willie Lou shrugged her shoulders, she said. "You are the Divine God...I expect you to know all these answers!"
Terrance noticed the house was no longer in flames, assuming that Phuture extinguished them before or after examining Celie's bible. He didn't expect Chicago's work against the demons to be done so quickly, so hopefully Phuture could read just as fast.
Phuture examined Celie's bible thoroughly towards the end, being sure to take her own seperate notes while reading through. She was reading through important information when she reached a page that was disoriented.
Someone must've wet the page to screw up the ink...I can tell there's a page ripped out as well! Maybe I could use my divinity..."
Phuture placed her hand on the disorientated page, centering her energy to focus on the writing.
Of course! Celie and The Demon Corps were going to other spiritual energy user organizations for information against The Confederate Demon. But according to her notes...she blamed herself when the Union energy user soldiers ended up missing. One of those soldiers, a young late man that died in his middle twenties, informed Celie they could use spiritual objects to potentially absorb the demon's spirituality.
Phuture depicted the young Union soldiers in her mind visually, seeing for herself how their lives ended after giving valuable information to Celie.
The Confederate Demon, an unnamed soldier of The Confederacy, used teleportation to swap destinations with unpredictable speed. The spiritual energy users served in the American Army and were indeed stronger than normal beings.
He utilized the teleportation technique in most occasions, including against The Demon Corp when he teleported to kill Ray and Taylor.
The arising rays of the morning sun started to shine the skies, brightening the basement from a small square window.
The sun is rising! It's been awhile and the spiritual essence of the demons are all gone...I'm sure they're probably looking for me!
Phuture made her way upstairs and gazed out to the golden shine of the sky.
She decided on studying the notes she took on Celie's book and giving the bibles back to Willie Lou. She wanted to help with achieving The Demon Corps main goals, using the bibles as their spiritual objects to absorb The Confederate Demon's spirit. She knew the technique to defeat a more powerful being, and she needed to do was spread the information to her allies.
Phuture made her way to the front door, but a sudden implosion of the home collapsed the roof down before she could reach the door.
Phuture was caught in the home's implosion, completely crippled under the destruction while the other urgently tried to dig her out.
Terrance shouted upon a detection of another spiritual pressure, but the others would instantly be weighed down against the imploded home from the pressure.
Terrance's eyes shot wide open at the sight of Chicago and Willie Lou struggling to stand.
"Hand over..." A crude voice spoke out. "...the bibles."
Terrance turned to face the demon with overwhelming spiritual prowess. He expected the leader of those four deceased demons to show up, but he didn't expect to be the only one standing when the time came.
The Confederate Demon had arrived.
Terrance reacted selflessly instead of seeking to save himself, sending Willie Lou and Chicago to another location with transportation. He wouldn't be able to do the same with Phuture, who's spiritual essence was quickly depleting after being smashed by the home.
She was dying.
Terrance sighed deeply, he said. "I'm screwed, but fuck it-"
The Confederate Demon struck quicker than he imagined, suddenly appearing before his eyes using teleportation technique.
The only way to possibly counter such speed was to use teleportation against it, so Terrance just barely managed to evade a deadly blow by using his own teleportation technique.
Terrance's aura glowed black and orange hue, he took calm and steady breaths in preparation to use his divinity to defeat The Confederate Demon.
The Confederate Demon tilted his head confusingly. "Wait- I certainly recognize you...you should be dead. Your spiritual aura is...different...stronger...how is this possible boy?"
Terrance's lip turned up. "Boy? Show respect talking to a Divine God!"
