The most direct way to trigger the ability is a kiss, right? It meets the precondition of intimate contact, and it involves the exchange of fluids.

With the thought of giving it a try, Leo looked at the quietly sleeping Nami, placed his hands gently on the bed, and leaned in. As he drew closer, he could feel the soft, warm puff of her breath on his face, accompanied by an alluringly sweet scent.

At that moment, Nami was only pretending to be asleep.

She had rushed home late last night from the battle with the Abomination, and her mother had nearly caught her in her spider-suit. Fortunately, she had quickly feigned illness and refused to open the door. This morning, she had used the same excuse to stay home and rest. Her injuries from the fight were already healing, thanks to her enhanced physique.

But what she never expected was that Leo would come to visit her, and that her mother would push him into her room. Trapped by her mother's scheme, she had no choice but to continue pretending to be asleep. As for the feverish heat coming from her forehead… that was because the moment Leo had entered her room, her body had begun to heat up on its own.

Now, though she couldn't open her eyes, she could feel him leaning over her. She could sense his gaze lingering on her face—no, on her lips.

What is happening?

She was completely bewildered. She lay perfectly still, her hands clenched into fists under the duvet.

A flicker of hesitation crossed Leo's eyes. He paused, then leaned in all the way. Nami's body went rigid. A soft, warm, subtle touch landed on her forehead, and was gone in an instant.

Leo quickly straightened up, glancing guiltily at the closed door. He touched his own lips, a faint, lingering warmth still on them.

What the hell am I doing? he thought with a wry smile. They were childhood friends, yes, but she was still a girl. He couldn't just kiss her on the lips.

The scorching heat he'd felt on her forehead, however, was real. She definitely had a fever. Feeling a little guilty, he reached down to pull the quilt up for her. As he did, his gaze fell on something on the bed.

Band-aids.

Three of them, which had been hidden by the quilt, now lay on the sheets.

"What's this?" he wondered, picking one up. They had clearly been used, but they were clean, with no trace of blood or dust.

He suddenly remembered that when they were kids, Nami had loved to stick band-aids on herself, especially on the bridge of her nose. She would pretend to be a tough gang boss and promise to protect him.

"Band-aids don't help with a cold, you little fool," he smiled, tucking the three band-aids into his pocket. He quietly opened the door and slipped out of the room.

"Oh, so soon?" Mary Jane, who seemed to have been standing guard and eavesdropping, looked very surprised.

Leo's face was a mask of exasperation. "Auntie, I was really just here to visit."

"Really?" she sighed, her disappointment obvious.

What in the world were you hoping for?

Leo didn't know how to respond. He exchanged a few more pleasantries with her, managed to evade her repeated attempts to make him stay, and then made a hasty retreat from the house.

Neither of them knew that in the room he had just left, the moment the door had closed, the girl who had been pretending to be asleep shot up in bed. Her face was flushed, and she was panting, her hands pressed to her hot cheeks. A wisp of actual steam rose from the spot on her forehead that Leo had touched. After a few seconds of stunned silence, she frantically threw back the quilt and began to search the bed.

"They're gone! The band-aids are gone!" she cried, her voice filled with shame.

She had taken the three band-aids off last night when she had changed into her spider-suit. Wearing a bra under the tight-fitting suit was too constricting and uncomfortable. But going without wasn't an option either. So, whenever she wore the suit, she used three band-aids.

Last night, she had been in too much of a hurry to dispose of them, and had left them on her bed.

"Did he really take them?"

The thought of the three band-aids now in Leo's hands made her bury her head under her pillow like an ostrich, steam practically roaring from the back of her head. She would never be able to face him again.

When Leo got back to his apartment, he saw a team of workers in plain uniforms, without any company logos, moving in and out of his home. In the living room, which was being renovated with terrifying efficiency, an old gentleman with white hair at his temples and wearing a sharp suit was calmly directing the work.

When he saw Leo enter, the old man immediately took off his hat and bowed slightly. "You must be the young master of the Prince family," he said, his voice polite and friendly.

"Master?"

Leo was taken aback. It was the first time in his life anyone had ever called him that. He didn't know whether to nod or shake his head. "I'm Leo Prince."

"Of course," the old gentleman said, his eyes deep and his smile gentle. "My name is Alfred Pennyworth. A bit of a mouthful, I know. You may simply call me Alfred." As he introduced himself, he reached into his suit pocket and politely handed over a black business card with both hands.

Leo took the card. The man's etiquette was flawless. He was just a butler, yet he carried himself with an air of refined dignity that could only be cultivated over decades of service to a great family.

The business card in his hand confirmed it. On it, in stark white letters, were two words:

"Wayne Enterprises."
