Hana froze. Slowly, she turned her head.
Kai stood there, fresh from his shower, draped in silk pajamas that caught the soft light. His damp hair clung to his forehead, and the faint trace of Tom Ford Oud Wood curled through the air—warm, smoky, expensive. It was the kind of scent that wrapped around you, whispered secrets you weren't ready to hear.
"You're done," Hana said quickly, her voice a shade too sharp as he sank onto the couch beside her.
Kai only gave a quiet nod.
"Wait—was that him?" Nari squealed through the phone.
Kai's lips curved faintly. "Put her on speaker, Hana."
Reluctantly, Hana set the phone on the table and tapped the button.
"Am I on speaker now?" Nari's voice rang out.
"Yes," Kai replied smoothly, his tone deep and calm.
"Oh my God—brother-in-law! I finally get to hear your voice."
"Likewise," Kai answered, warmth threaded through his composure. "I'm glad I get to speak with Hana's best friend."
"Did she tell you I was her best friend?" Nari teased.
"No," Kai said, lips twitching at the corners. "But since you already know about me, I figured you must be."
Nari giggled. "My brother-in-law is so smart."
A rare smile ghosted across Kai's face.
"Alright, enough, Nari. I need to sleep," Hana interjected, a little too fast.
"Wait—are you two sleeping together?" Nari blurted.
