Chapter 21 - Chapter 21. Underworld-Style Eldlich’s Main Card! Eldlich the Golden Lord!

Chapter 21. Underworld-Style Eldlich's Main Card! Eldlich the Golden Lord!

In every Duelist's understanding!

A Deck's monsters, Spells, Traps, and other categories each take up a certain proportion!

A single Deck can't be all monsters.

It can't be all Spells.

And it can't be all Traps!

At least!

That's what Duelists in these early Duel Worlds believe.

If it's all Traps, what are you even playing?

With a Deck like that!

How can there be any power?

...

Duel Monsters world.

The many Duelists who had already communicated with Sei Yuki looked at the Eldlich builds where Trap Cards made up seventy percent of the Deck.

Quite a few of them almost thought Sei Yuki was deliberately showing them a trash Deck!

Who puts that many Traps into a Deck?

What's even more absurd!

There are so few monsters!?

Can a build like this even accomplish anything?

"Traps make up two-thirds."

"This build is kind of interesting."

"So it mainly relies on Traps to create disruption?"

"Here's the problem—what offensive power can its monsters even have?"

"If you want to win, Traps alone won't cut it."

"..."

Yugi Muto frowned and started offering his take.

After all, he's half a trap-heavy 'Underworld-style' player himself.

He runs quite a few fun back-row cards.

But he knows very well that Traps are only support; the main axis still has to be monsters.

"Yugi, since it's called 'Eldlich,' doesn't that mean the three-of Eldlich the Golden Lord is the most important?"

"Well, let's just see what the video creator says next."

"Looks like there's something to be worried about."

Téa Gardner was observant.

Across multiple list variations, she noticed it.

Eldlich the Golden Lord seemed to be a mandatory include!

...…

GX world.

"Mamma mia!"

"What is this build even supposed to do?"

"As a professor, I give it a zero!"

"I'm just being honest!"

"With a build like this! My Ancient Gear Golem would mop the floor with it!"

Professor Crowler immediately puffed himself up and launched into a spray of criticism!

But the students and teachers around him believed Crowler's words without question!

Not merely because he is a professor!

More importantly!

Ancient Gear Golem!

It doesn't fear Spells/Traps in battle at all!

That's right!

The value of locking the Battle Phase!

Professor Crowler!

He's already thrashed who-knows-how-many trap-heavy 'Underworld' builds!

Against this Eldlich Deck! He really does seem to have the advantage!

"Hmph! So you like to stall and disrupt?"

"I hate Decks like this the most."

"But my Cyber Dragons aren't afraid!"

"When it's time to crush the 'Underworld,' Cyber End Dragon with Power Bond will weld it to scrap and teach it a lesson."

Zane Truesdale also watched Eldlich with a cold eye.

As the inheritor of the Cyber playstyle,

His Cyber Dragons have crushed plenty of trap-heavy builds.

So faced with Eldlich running that much back row, the unafraid Zane felt no fear at all.

...…

5D's world.

Yusei Fudo, however, took an attitude different from the first two worlds.

Looking at a list that was basically all back row,

He actually felt a budding urge not to Duel against that Deck at all!

"Synchro, honestly, is most afraid of disruption."

"Because you need a Tuner and a non-Tuner."

"This build would be a tough matchup."

Jack Atlas took a deep breath and stated his view.

And in truth, that's how it is.

If your Synchro gets set on or your Tuner gets disrupted out of the play,

Then,

You immediately fall into a passive position.

"Don't rush it, let's keep watching?"

"Eldlich the Golden Lord is on the screen for explanation already."

"Let's listen."

Leo pointed at the big display on the Duel Runner.

Sure enough.

The video creator I'll be an Eldlich Master had begun the breakdown.

...

I'll be an Eldlich Master: "Alright, now that we've seen the basic ratios and what we include,"

I'll be an Eldlich Master: "Next is the key—your must-have ace card for the Deck!"

I'll be an Eldlich Master: "Eldlich the Golden Lord!!!"

[Card Name: Eldlich the Golden Lord (Level 10)]

[Attribute: LIGHT]

[Type: Zombie]

[ATK/DEF: 2500/2800]

As the card appeared on screen!

Two simple effects entered the Duelists' view!

Effect 1!

"You can send this card and 1 Spell/Trap from your hand to the Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; send it to the Graveyard."

"Simple, domineering removal by sending!"

"But it targets!"

Effect 2!

"If this card is in your Graveyard: You can send 1 Spell/Trap you control to the Graveyard; add this card to your hand, then you can Special Summon 1 Zombie monster from your hand, and if you do, until the end of your opponent's turn, it gains 1000 ATK/DEF and cannot be destroyed by card effects."

"Self-recycling, plus a built-in Special Summon."

"And the monster you Special Summon gets ATK/DEF +1000 and effect-destruction protection."

"Now here's where it gets interesting!"

"Notice this—one effect actively sends cards to the Graveyard to remove something, and the other recovers itself, and both effects are each once per turn."

"Do you see the terrifying synergy?"

As soon as the video creator finished speaking,

The Duelists across the six Duel Worlds took a careful sip of that info and all showed the same dawning, chilling look!

This card! It's eerie!

No—rather!

This card's effect is downright nasty!!!
