Alex called one of the maids, in her late 40's to escort me to my chamber, she appeared to be in charge of the other maids, she introduced herself as Maddy. She reminded me of Adeline, and I couldn't help but miss her.
"This will be your chamber my queen," she said. The chamber was a masterpiece of opulence and elegance, designed to showcase the monarch's refined taste and status. The room was a symphony of lavish textures, rich colors, and exquisite craftsmanship.
Soft, golden light poured in through the intricately carved windows, casting a warm glow on the plush, velvet drapes that cascaded to the floor. The walls were adorned with delicate, hand-painted frescoes depicting scenes of mythological creatures and lush gardens.
The floor was made of polished marble, reflecting the light like a still pond. A majestic, four-poster bed stood at the room's center, its delicate, gilded carvings and velvet canopy a testament to the palace's master craftsmen.
The room's pièce de résistance was the grand, crystal chandelier that hung from the ceiling, casting a kaleidoscope of colors and light across the room. The private balcony, lined with delicate, filigree-patterned railings, offered breathtaking views of the palace gardens, where fountains danced and flowers bloomed in every color of the rainbow.
I loved it, who would've thought that a man like Chris would have good taste. Three more maids came in and helped me take a bath, the water was warm and it helped my body finally relax. After I was done, I got dressed and went to the dining room, I ate to my fullest.
As I was about to fall asleep, Maddy came back,"Can I get you something else my Queen?" I shook my head, right now I just needed some rest. As she was about to leave she stopped in her tracks as if wanting to say something," The King set out rules for you once you arrived in the palace," Rules? I raised a brow, " The first rule is that the King's chamber on the 3rd floor is offlimit, you're not allowed to go there except for Mr Alexander." Offlimit? But I was his wife, were we not going to share the same room?
"The second rule is that you're not allowed to be outside the palace after 6pm and you can never go out alone." 6pm? Queens didn't get curfews.
"The last rule is that you're forbidden from going to the fourth floor, failure to this will result in serious consequences. Have a good night my Queen." She said as she turned around to leave.
The fourth floor? Why was it forbidden? .
