Chapter 1 - Prologue: The Beginning of Something Old

"Since the beginning of humanity there have been heroes! These blazing figures of heroics fighting for justice and safety of the citizens. They fight evil, save lives, and bring hope to those seeking it. Our entire worldwide culture revolves around these incredible people risking their lives to protect our's.

Not all heroes wear capes though. Firefighters, police, army personnel, doctors, nurses, and us teachers are heroes in our own way. In fact before the first hero in our official government's database they inspired her to act.

She was the first and strongest hero of them all. Her name was Thunder Woman but her citizen name Jane Doe. Not very creative I know but still she was very new to heroism and to the world as a whole.

You see her origin goes even further back than heroes. All the way to ancient Greece where the Gods reigned above every living being. These Gods were selfish, cruel, evil, tormenting creatures that only did things to satisfy themselves including harming humans mentally and physically. Zeus the king of these Gods was the cruelest of them all and ruled with an invincible iron fist. All that opposed him were nothing more than verman and his personal playthings.

The Gods all revered him and feared if they stepped out of line they would be destroyed. Even his wife, Hera, was in fear of her husband's power and couldn't control him when he was angry. Which led to Zeus um.....how do I explain this child friendly like? He had a lot of kids thanks to magic!! Yeah magic. Good old magic.

Anyway one of these magic kids was Hercules! A true men among men! His power was incredible but his heart was as well. Helping mortals, Gods, creatures, with their problems while protecting them as well. He was only a demigod but he was still incredible! In fact after reaching Godhood he still didn't let the power go to his head and was able to help people around the world!

Other Gods besides Greece recognized this and admired him for his hard work. All of his efforts were for the goodness of humanity and God kind a like. Some even called him the TRUE first hero before the registry was even a system. His exploits and heroics made him respected, loved, feared, and worshipped around the world. His father, Zeus in case you weren't paying attention, did not like his as he was a selfish and cruel God by heart. He wanted the attention, fame, and loyalty from other Gods that his son has but unfortunately he wasn't as likable.

So when Hercules started encouraging the Gods to come together and stop bothering the humans as much and help them with cooperation. Zeus saw the chance to put the other Gods against Hercules finally and he took it. Zeus spouted about how Hercules wanted to make the Gods lesser than themselves by helping humans and stop worship they were receiving which gave them their immense power in the first place.

The more evil and manipulative Gods immediately agreed with Zeus about not helping humans wanting to only use them as their playthings. The more kinder Gods agreed with Hercules on his values on helping humans and stop bothering them.

They were at a standstill. No side giving the other any room to negotiate or compromise. Hercules refused to be discouraged though. He still helped people and taught humans things that they never learned before. But Zeus in all of his jealousy and fury decided that he would put his son down once and for all. While Hercules was visiting a small island with lesser known Gods to encourage them to join his side, Zeus appeared in a mad rage.

He engaged Hercules in one on one combat and the aftermath of that conflict destroyed that island and every living creature around. Their battle was fierce! Zeus King of the Gods!! Vs Hercules the God of Strength!!! The battle lasted days, weeks, and eventually one month of fighting later Zeus fell and Hercules won.

After defeating his father and regaining his strength, Hercules decided that enough was enough. Using his father's own lighting bolt he decided to bring the Gods together on a single decision. They will not interfere with humans period. Seeing the casualties of his battle changed something in Hercules. What really he was thinking about we will never know.

The Gods all agreed to this proposal after seeing Hercules's strength. There were some naysayers but they were quickly silenced with his fist.

Hercules and the other Gods went to their sacred palaces to only observe the humans and never to interfere with their exploits. But of course not all listened.

Hercules had a child. Her name was Dynami which meant strength in Greek. She, for whatever reason, decided to come to our world and be a hero! The very first hero in fact!

The exact reason for her rebellious nature in not wanting to listen to her father and instead help others will never truly be revealed but what mattered was her willingness to help and protect us! She fought for the Earth for years until more extraordinary people came to help her! All over the world she inspired tons and tons of people to stand up to injustice and fight for what's right.

After decades of hard work in 1958 A.D. tragically Hercules was murdered by a group of monsters and Gods led by Loki of the Norse. He was a cruel, evil, being only motivated by chaos and mischief. The opportunity to kill Hercules was only taken so that he can cause chaos and disharmony amongst the Gods, as well as the humans.

At the same moment, villains around the world banned together to cause chaos and tear apart the "peace" the world had achieved. The attack was planned expertly as some heroes turned evil to gain Loki's favor. This slaughter lasted for 2 years until Thunder Woman arrived with Zeus's lighting bolt and dispatched all villains in her path. Revealing she went into seclusion to train her abilities to the fullest and achieving Godhood she resigned to gain order again.

She went back to God's plane of existence to end this once and for all! But she never came back. Missing for years and with hope she'll return heroes regained order but without their number one deterrent of evil the villains prospered as well. Aliens invasions, wars, demon infestations, flooding and leftover Gods wanting power all came without Thunder Woman in charge of it all.

But as heroes are pushed into a corner they still thrived and went past their limits to put it an end to it all! Thunder Woman never made an appearance after all of those years choosing to keep the Gods in check instead and left the mortal plane to help itself. Will she ever return when we need her the most? No one will ever know but I have hope she'll be back one day hopefully soon of course."

"Now that brings us an end to our lesson!" A teacher exclaims excitingly as she closes the book next to her and turns a projector off.

A group of children in desks all stretch and yawn from the very long story.

The teacher turns the lights back on and claps her hands serval times to gain their attention, "Sorry that it took so long class, I just really love telling that exciting story of heroism!".

She opens the door quickly and raises her hand. "Everyone let's take a quick walk around and use the bathroom too, I know you guys are antsy and are itching to move especially since the school day is about almost over."

"Come on follow me!"

The teacher waits outside the door for the class to gather in a line behind her. A black kid starts getting up while looking outside and gazes at the birds flying in the air. He pushes the window open and enjoys the breeze coming in. He then looks at the flaming hair on his arms then back outside.

"A hero, huh?"

The boy whispers to himself as he joins his class in the line as his fire like hair waves in wind. He closes his eyes, then opens them with silent determination.

"I'll hopefully have a girlfriend before I ever decide to do a career like that."

Chapter end.
