Selena hesitated before finally giving him her number. Mick was about to say something when Mia called out to her.
"Selena, are you coming?" Mia shouted.
"I'm sorry, I have to go. Bye," Selena said before leaving.
Mick watched her walk away with a small smile. He was the one who had found out where Selena was staying. He wanted another chance to meet her, so he had followed her to the ice cream shop and made it look like they had accidentally run into each other.
"Why are you still talking to that boy?" Mia asked, looking annoyed.
"He explained everything, and I already forgave him. I don't have anything against him anymore."
"Selena, you have such a soft heart.
"Okay, fine, fine. I'll stop."
"That's my Selena," Mia said, laughing.
The two girls had a lot of fun, but by the time they got back home, it was already late.
"Ahh," Mia said tiredly. "I'm so tired."
She pulled off her shoes and sighed.
Selena went into the kitchen and opened the fridge, only to find that there was nothing to eat.
"Mia!" she called.
"What?" Mia replied.
"There's nothing to eat. Can you order something?"
"What should I order?" Mia asked.
"Anything is fine. Just order something," Selena replied.
"Okay," Mia said.

Meanwhile, Lucian was in his car when someone brought him a bag containing some documents. When he opened it, his expression grew colder with every page.
Something wasn't right.
Several large amounts of money had been transferred from the company's account into a private bank account. At first, he thought it was an accounting error, but after checking the records again, he realized the transfers had been authorized by someone he never expected.
His uncle, Victor Blackwood.
Lucian stared at the documents in disbelief.
His uncle had been secretly transferring company funds into a private account.
"Why would he do this?" Lucian muttered.
He immediately began going through the transaction records, checking the dates and amounts. There was enough evidence to prove that this had been happening for months.
Lucian clenched his jaw.
He wasn't going to confront his uncle over the phone. He wanted answers, and he wanted them face-to-face.
On Wednesday, he would go there and settle the matter himself.
But first, he had to tell his grandfather.
When Lucian got home, he saw his mom and grandma sitting at the dinner table.
"Grandma, Mom," he greeted.
"Okay, my grandson. You must be tired. Why don't you join us?" his grandma asked.
"Hmm, I will pass, Grandma."
"But why?" his grandma asked.
"I ate at the office."
"But still, come and eat something," his mom said.
"No, Mom. I have something to discuss with Grandpa."
"Fine. He's in his study room."
Lucian left and headed to his grandfather's study.
When he got to the door, he knocked.
"Come in," his grandpa said.
Lucian opened the door and walked in. His grandfather looked at him as if he had been waiting for him.
"Good evening, Grandpa," he greeted before sitting down.
"Grandpa, I investigated it and found out that money had been transferred from the company's account into a private bank account. It also affected the project, so Aurevane Group wants to close the deal."
Lucian could see the worry in his grandfather's eyes.
"Grandpa, don't worry. I will settle it."
His grandfather looked relieved to hear that because the deal was worth a lot to the company.
"Good," his grandpa said.
"Alright, Grandpa. I will get going."
When Lucian left, his grandfather took his phone and called Victor.
"Dad, why are you calling me this time? Is everything alright?" Victor asked.
"No. Everything is not alright," his grandfather replied.
"Are you sick, Dad?" Victor asked worriedly.
"You are the one who is sick! What is going on with the project?"
"Dad, I will handle it. You don't have to worry. Just give me some time."
"Oh, you need time? Or do you want Aurevane Group to close the deal? I don't want to hear any of your nonsense. Lucian is going to take over the project. I want you to come back."
"Dad, just give me some time," Victor pleaded.
"I don't want to repeat myself, Victor. Lucian is going to take over, and that is final."
His grandfather ended the call.
Victor stared at his phone after the call ended.
His face tightened with anger.
"Lucian?" he said angrily.
He clenched his fists and began pacing around the room.
"This isn't over," he muttered.

The next morning, Selena arrived at the company.
When Selena entered Lucian's office, she noticed a girl sitting there. She didn't recognize her and had no idea who she was.
Selena immediately felt that the atmosphere was a little awkward, but she said nothing. She simply went to make a cup of coffee for Lucian.
A few minutes later, Selena returned with the coffee and walked into the office.
She handed Lucian his coffee.
Daisy looked at her arrogantly.
"Go get me a coffee," she said.
Selena looked at her for a moment but decided not to argue.
"Okay," she replied quietly.
She turned around and went to get Daisy's coffee.
A few minutes later, Selena came back and walked toward the table. She was about to place the coffee down when her hand accidentally slipped.
The coffee spilled onto Daisy's dress.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" Selena said quickly.
She immediately tried to help clean the stain.
"Get your hands off me!" Daisy shouted.
Selena quickly pulled her hands away.
"I'm sorry," she whisper.
But Daisy was already angry.
She stood up and slapped Selena.
Lucian immediately rushed to Selena's side.
"Selena!"
Selena's eyes filled with tears. She lowered her head, trying hard not to cry.
"I'm... I'm sorry," she choked out.
Lucian handed her his handkerchief.
"Go back to your office," he said gently.
Selena nodded and left.
When Daisy returned after going to clean her dress, Lucian's expression had completely changed.
His face darkened as he looked at her.
"Why did you slapped her?"
