Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Kingdom of Fiore, Magnolia Town.

A gentle early spring breeze carried the scent of rain-soaked earth as sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves, scattering across a park bench.

"So… I really did transmigrate, huh…"

Aurel sat on the bench, staring up at the sky as blue as washed glass, letting out a complicated sigh.

After all, just a few minutes ago he'd been lying in his dorm, scrolling through his phone. The next thing he knew, he was sitting in a strange park he'd never seen before.

What's more—

He quickly realized that his height—or rather, his age—had changed. He seemed to be about fourteen or fifteen years old.

Still, compared to the unbelievable fact that he'd actually transmigrated, a younger body wasn't too hard to accept.

Looking on the bright side, at least he'd get to live a few extra years.

"Well, first things first—better figure out where I am."

Adjusting his mindset, Aurel began carefully observing his surroundings.

By now, the park was already bustling. Couples walking close together, children playing, old folks strolling about—it all looked quite normal, not so different from the parks he knew.

However, the distinct fantasy-style clothing of the people and their colorful, unnatural hair left no doubt that he had indeed crossed into another world.

Distant chatter drifted into his ears, yet he couldn't understand a word. That only deepened his frustration.

Wait—didn't all those protagonists in web novels and anime get some kind of language patch or system upon transmigration?

Why was he the exception!?

What kind of nightmare start is this!?

[Daily Quest System loading complete!]

Just as Aurel was staring blankly at the medieval-style buildings across the river, a sudden voice echoed inside his mind.

A… system?

Before he could react, the voice spoke again.

[This system refreshes quests daily at 6:00 AM. Completing them will earn the host unique rewards from various worlds and unlock character templates.]

[Today's Quest Refreshed:]

[Quest 1: First Arrival!]

[Description: Welcome to your new world! To ensure your survival and future mission success, please claim your gift.]

[Reward: Welcome Gift (Randomly grants three abilities/items)]

A beginner's package?

Seeing the translucent interface floating before him, Aurel's eyes began to gleam.

"Claim quest reward."

He silently muttered the words in his mind.

The next instant, a crimson gift box tied with a pink ribbon materialized in his hands.

It wasn't very large, and since he was sitting in a corner of the park, nobody seemed to notice it appear.

[Open the gift box?]

"Open."

As the translucent text appeared, Aurel didn't hesitate.

The ribbon untied itself, three different-colored lights flashed, and the voice of the system echoed once again.

[Obtained Ability: Love Spot (from the world of Fate/Zero)]

[Description: The tear mole gifted by the Goddess of Love to Diarmuid Ua Duibhne. It charms women who gaze upon the user, creating intense feelings of affection.]

"If I remember right… that ability was basically the reason for Diarmuid's tragic fate, wasn't it?"

Aurel's expression became complicated.

Not because the ability was useless—quite the opposite. It was too effective.

In a sense, it wasn't much different from being a succubus.

[Obtained Item: Translation Konjac (from the world of Doraemon)]

[Description: A jelly-like food. Once eaten, it allows the user to communicate fluently with speakers of any language, including written text.]

[Obtained Character Template: Sin of Pride — Escanor (from the world of The Seven Deadly Sins)]

[Description: Blessed with the power of the sun, your strength and personality will rise with the sun—reaching their peak at noon. As the sun sets, both will gradually fade.]

[Note: The template will be adapted to suit the host's physical condition.]

Aurel, who had been pleasantly surprised by the Translation Konjac, froze when he saw the character template.

The park's lively noise faded into a dull hum, his breath caught, and only the pounding of his heart remained.

He took a deep breath, and after a long pause, his eyes gleamed with excitement.

This was… a broken start.

Sure, there were side effects—only usable during the day, personality changes, loss of power at night.

But compared to the sheer might of Escanor's strength, those drawbacks were laughable.

[Claim all rewards?]

"All of them!"

As his words fell, a small black tear mole appeared beneath his left eye. The red gift box dissolved into light, leaving only a gray piece of konjac behind.

The change in his body was the most drastic—muscles carved like stone beneath his black shirt, surging heat pulsing through his veins, and a terrifying magical power radiating from within.

"So this is… the power of the sun?" Aurel whispered, feeling the wild magic flow through him.

It was nearly evening, yet the power was still immense.

He could only imagine how terrifying it would become at high noon.

But then—

"Why hasn't my body changed size?"

He frowned in confusion.

From what he remembered, Escanor's power altered his physique as well—growing taller and bulkier as the sun rose, reaching a towering three meters at noon before shrinking back at night.

Yet right now, as the sun was setting, his body and demeanor remained unchanged.

[This template has been optimized for the host. Physical size will not change, and personality adjustments vary per individual.]

"Oh, how considerate of you."

Aurel couldn't help but praise.

After taking a moment to adapt to his new strength, he remembered the Translation Konjac still in his hand.

The jelly-like piece shimmered softly, but before he could eat it, a few raindrops splashed onto it.

"It's raining?"

He instinctively looked up. The once-blue sky had turned gray, clouds gathering as fine rain began to fall, quickly growing heavier until the world blurred behind the downpour.

Rain fell around him—but each drop that neared his body evaporated instantly from his magic's heat.

He wasn't wet, but the gloomy weather made him frown.

For now, he could use magic to shield himself. But once the sun fully set…

Was he supposed to sleep under a bridge?

He had just solved the language and power problems—now lodging was the next issue.

He sighed.

"Um… are you okay? You shouldn't stay out here in this weather. You'll catch a cold."

A gentle, worried voice came from beside him.

"Hm?"

Aurel turned to see a blue-haired girl holding an umbrella and a book.

She was petite, with a bright and cute face. A dark green ribbon tied her short sky-blue hair, and her light yellow off-shoulder dress made her look cheerful and lively.

"If I could, I'd love to go home too," Aurel said with a helpless smile. "But thanks for worrying about me."

"A-ah… it's fine, really."

The girl blinked, her heartbeat quickening as her eyes met his—drawn to the tear mole beneath his left eye.

What… is this strange feeling?

"Um, are you in some kind of trouble?" she asked hesitantly.

"Trouble?"

Seeing her flushed cheeks, Aurel immediately understood.

That Love Spot really was something.

He did feel bad for deceiving such a kind girl… but compared to sleeping under a bridge tonight—

——

"Eh!? You got scammed out of all your money while traveling? How could anyone be so cruel!?"

After hearing his "tragic story," the blue-haired girl puffed her cheeks in outrage.

"Yeah, so I don't even know where I'll sleep tonight. Guess I'll just find a bridge somewhere…"

"Um…" The girl glanced at the falling rain, then mumbled softly, "If you don't have anywhere to stay… you could come to my place for tonight?"

Wait—what am I saying!?

Realizing her words, she turned beet red, covering her face with the book in embarrassment.

"Are you sure that's okay? I am a man…"

Aurel pretended to hesitate.

"It's fine… you look younger than me anyway," she whispered shyly. "You're more like a boy than a man…"

"In that case, I'll take you up on that offer!"

Aurel smiled warmly and held out his hand. "I'm Aurel, a traveler from far away. Nice to meet you."

"I-I'm Levy… Levy McGarden."
