Chapter 28 - The unknown

Mia stood tall, her eyes scanning the room as the leaders of the supernatural communities waited for her response. She had a sense of calm, cool, and collected demeanor, as if she was born to be in this position. Kai and Amara stood by her side, their eyes fixed intently on the leaders, ready to defend her at a moment's notice.

The vampire leader, sensing Mia's confidence, leaned back in his chair, a hint of a smile on his lips. "So, Mia, tell us, what makes you think you can protect your people and keep our world safe?" he asked, his voice dripping with curiosity.

Mia's eyes locked onto his, her gaze unwavering. "I don't think, I know," she said, her voice firm and commanding. "I have the power to protect them, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to keep them safe."

Kai growled softly, his eyes flashing with a warning, as if daring anyone to challenge Mia's words. Amara's hand rested on his arm, a subtle reminder to stay calm, but her eyes were fixed intently on the leaders, her fangs bared in a silent snarl.

The werewolf leader raised an eyebrow, impressed by Mia's confidence. "I think she's got the spirit," he said, a hint of a growl in his voice. "But spirit alone won't be enough to protect us from the threats that are coming."

Mia's eyes narrowed, her mind racing with the implications. "I'm not just talking about spirit," she said, her voice cold and calculating. "I have the power of the Alden bloodline, and I'm not afraid to use it."

The room fell silent, the leaders exchanging uneasy glances. They had expected a timid, uncertain witch, but instead they were faced with a confident, powerful leader.

The witch leader leaned forward, her eyes shining with interest. "I think we have a lot to discuss, Mia," she said, her voice dripping with warmth. "But first, let us get one thing clear: we are not here to threaten or intimidate you. We are here to offer our support and guidance, if you are willing to accept it."

Mia's eyes locked onto hers, her gaze searching for any sign of deception. But all she saw was a genuine offer of help, and she nodded, her expression softening slightly. "I'm willing to listen," she said, her voice a little softer.

As the meeting continued, Kai and Amara remained by Mia's side, their eyes fixed intently on the leaders, ready to defend her at a moment's notice. The tension in the room began to dissipate, replaced by a sense of cautious optimism.

But just as it seemed like the meeting was going to come to an end, the doors burst open, and a group of strangers entered the room, their eyes fixed intently on Mia. "We are here for the Alden witch," one of them said, his voice cold and menacing.

The room erupted into chaos, with Kai and Amara springing into action to defend Mia. The leaders of the supernatural communities rose to their feet, their eyes flashing with anger and surprise.

Mia, however, remained calm, her eyes fixed intently on the newcomers. She raised her hand, and a burst of energy shot out, sending the strangers flying. "I think it's time for you to leave," she said, her voice cold and commanding.
