Chapter 1 - 1: Homelander Template

New York.

Non-Sacred Timeline.

1943.

This year, a certain mustachioed figure rallied the masses, seizing half of Europe.

The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, dragging the United States into the war.

The entire world was at war, and everyone was eager to beat each other's brains out.

In an underground laboratory base somewhere in New York, a group of soldiers in uniforms were frantically busy assembling equipment.

Jeno sat quietly on a stool, watching the soldiers set up the machinery.

His name was Jeno Wilson.

He was a transmigrator. In his past life, he loved Marvel fanfiction, and after falling asleep one night, he woke up in this world.

However, Jeno hadn't transmigrated at the best time.

Other predecessors either started in Iron Man's beginner village or had Gwen Stacy as their girlfriend.

Jeno, on the other hand, found himself in World War II, an era before New York's various masked heroes had taken the historical stage.

All this era left for Jeno was war.

Fortunately, Jeno obtained a [System].

When Jeno turned eighteen, the system's first task was [Use the Super Soldier Serum.]

[Reward: Homelander Template.]

The task was quite difficult, especially since Jeno had a formidable competitor—Steve Rogers.

But Jeno didn't give up. He enlisted in Brooklyn alongside Steve, met Dr. Erskine, and then joined the Camp Lehigh training program.

During his time at the training camp, Jeno's outstanding performance impressed Colonel Phillips, while Dr. Erskine favored Steve.

After a heated argument between the two, it was finally decided that both Jeno and Steve would participate in the experiment.

The experimental equipment hummed with a "buzzing" roar.

Jeno snapped back to attention, his gaze shifting to the second floor of the base.

At this moment, the second-floor observation deck of the underground base was filled with officers of all ranks.

"Huff, I'm not nervous, not nervous!"

Steve beside him took a deep breath, trying to calm himself.

"Relax, Steve, you'll definitely succeed."

Jeno walked over to Steve and patted his shoulder. Why should the chosen one be nervous?

Just as the two were chatting,

With the connection of the circuits, the experimental chamber erupted in an eerie blue glow.

"Jeno, Steve, the experiment is about to begin!"

At that moment, the tall, beautiful rose that was Peggy Carter swayed over to Jeno and Steve.

The woman's eyes rested on Jeno, her expression complex as she looked at this young man. He was three years younger than her, yet his face was calm now, seemingly unconcerned about the possibility of the experiment failing.

Peggy pursed her red lips and decided to encourage Jeno. "You... do your best."

"No need for that."

Jeno shook his head and pulled off his shirt, revealing a perfect physique that formed a stark contrast with the slender Steve beside him.

Howard Stark—Tony's future father—called out to Jeno and Steve, "Hey, ready? Get in if you are."

Jeno glanced coolly at Peggy and finished his unspoken words, "Because I will only succeed!"

After a small boast, before the words had fully faded, Jeno strode forward with firm steps, leading the way into the experimental chamber.

Whether the gears of fate would turn depended entirely on today!

Jeno prayed silently in his heart. Please don't let those gears rust.

Steve followed closely behind, entering the chamber.

The experiment began quickly.

As the hatch closed, a pale blue light gradually brightened.

Jeno lay quietly inside the instrument chamber, secured tightly to the metal plate by a restraint suit. Rows of cold, gleaming syringes hung on either side, filled with the azure-blue Super Soldier Serum.

"Experiment commencing!"

Jeno faintly heard Howard's voice.

The power generation output increased steadily. The syringes inside the instrument pierced Jeno's body.

The enhancement serum slowly entered Jeno's bloodstream. The cool serum, the moment it merged with his body, seemed to transform into blazing fire, scorching every cell in Jeno's body.

It felt like hundreds of razor blades were slicing across his skin simultaneously—excruciating pain.

"Power output at seventy percent!"

Outside the chamber, Howard stood motionless, his eyes fixed on the instrument screen.

As the energy input reached its maximum, Jeno's heart rate on the monitor turned into a roller coaster.

Peggy Carter had, at some point, made her way to the front of the instrument, silently watching the chamber and praying for the experiment's success.

Jeno endured the agony silently. For a better future, what was a little pain now?

So, despite wanting to die from the pain, Jeno stubbornly gritted his teeth and didn't make a sound, relying on sheer willpower.

"Power output at eighty percent!"

Every muscle in his body felt torn apart and reborn. Jeno clenched his jaw, fists tightly balled.

"Power output at one hundred percent!"

Buzz!

An intense blue flash erupted, and at the same moment, a cold voice sounded in Jeno's calm mind.

[Task Completed: Use the Super Soldier Serum.]

[Reward: Homelander Template!]

[Reward: Super Strength.

Super Speed.

Super Durability.

Flight.

Heat Vision.

X-Ray Vision.

Super Hearing.]

As a long list of rewards scrolled past his vision, Jeno closed his eyes, feeling the surging power within him.

[New Task Refreshed.]

[Save Dr. Erskine.]

[Reward: Heat Vision Upgrade.]

The system's voice sounded again, interrupting Jeno's immersion in sensing his newfound power.

He heard the chaotic noises outside the chamber. Jeno slowly opened his eyes. Through the hatch, using his newly acquired X-Ray vision, he easily spotted two men in trench coats.

They were sneaking toward Dr. Erskine, and beneath their coats was a loaded pistol.

Jeno exerted a slight force, and the special restraint straps binding him snapped.

He reached out, touched the cold hatch, and then gave it a gentle push.

The next second.

BOOM!

The previously seamless hatch flew out like a fired cannonball, crashing violently into the second-floor metal observation platform. It even punched a huge hole through the thick steel plate, sending up a cloud of dust.

Everyone was startled by the sudden commotion.

They stared at the suddenly exploded hatch.

White steam billowed from the oval experimental chamber, obscuring everyone's view.

A figure slowly emerged from the steam. Everyone stared at him in a daze.

A tall stature, a powerful yet aesthetically sculpted muscular frame, a face with sharp, chiseled features.

At this moment, he was undoubtedly God's most perfect creation.

The crowd fell silent for a moment, and then, the laboratory erupted in deafening cheers.

The experiment was a success!

Everyone was celebrating wildly.

Colonel Phillips excitedly hugged Senator Brandt.

Dr. Erskine looked at Jeno with relief, happy to see his serum succeed once more.

In the corner, Peggy stood with her arms crossed, her expression complicated as she watched Jeno, lost in thought.

But just as everyone was celebrating, Jeno's face turned cold as he focused on the two Hydra assassins.

Then, under everyone's puzzled gazes, Jeno slowly walked toward the two.

With each step, Jeno's eyes grew hotter, beginning to glow red.

Faced with Jeno's increasingly terrifying aura, the two assassins' psyches broke. They yanked out submachine guns hidden under their coats.

"We're exposed! Take action now!"

BANG!

The gun barrels aimed at Dr. Erskine, and the assassins frantically pulled the triggers. A continuous barrage of gunfire instantly threw the venue into chaos, with roars and screams rising one after another.

Whoosh!

Jeno appeared in front of Dr. Erskine with a speed invisible to the naked eye.

Ping! Ping! Ping!

Bullets struck Jeno's body, sparking small bursts of flame. The deformed bullets lost their kinetic energy and fell to the ground with crisp clinks.

"This!?"

The two Hydra assassins wore expressions as if they'd seen a ghost.

Flesh stopping bullets? How was that possible?

They stared at this figure who had suddenly appeared before Erskine, his eyes now glowing with an eerie red light like a demon from hell.

"Any last words?"

Jeno's gaze locked onto the two Hydra assassins. Harming his mission target had only one outcome: death!

The two Hydra assassins exchanged a glance, then shouted in unison, "Hail Hyd—"

ZAP!

Before they could finish the salute, the red light in Jeno's eyes blazed intensely.

A searing, crimson beam of heat instantly pierced through the heads of both Hydra assassins.

The terrifying thermal laser vaporized their skulls in an instant, leaving gaping holes. Both men collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
