Atop a small hill, a handsome young man with short black hair—Bai Yu—gazed down at the lively celebration below and murmured to himself.
"Big Brother Bai Yu, what are you saying? Lackey? Background extra?"
A girl with light yellow shoulder-length hair, wearing a pale blue dress, came running up. Her bright eyes sparkled with curiosity as she asked.
"Why did you come up here?"
Bai Yu watched the panting little girl stop in front of him. He gently wiped the fine sweat from her forehead and said softly, "Kaya, if your health isn't good, you should rest properly. The wind up here is strong."
"Mmm…"
Bai Yu's gentle touch made a blush creep across Kaya's face. Then she smiled cutely. "Big Brother Bai Yu, while you were training on the hill earlier, two groups of pirates came to the village just now."
"One of them was nice. Luffy and the others defeated the remnants of the Black Cat Pirates. I gave them a ship as thanks, and they're celebrating before setting sail. Come join the party with us, Big Brother Bai Yu!"

Luffy asked curiously, "Who?"
Usopp quickly ducked his head and whispered, "That's Bai Yu. We only beat the remnants of the Black Cat Pirates, but I heard he killed Captain Kuro… with one slash…"
"One slash?"
Zoro instinctively reached for his swords, his eyes gleaming as he looked toward Bai Yu.
"Wow, so cool! I wanna… mmph—!"
Luffy started yelling excitedly, but Usopp quickly covered his mouth.
Sweating profusely, Usopp hissed nervously, "Don't say anything! He's a monster. I once saw from far away—he split a… small mountain with one slash."
He'd been terrified back then.
Ever since, he'd kept his distance from Bai Yu and Kaya's house.
