Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 — The Disappearance of the Peak Master

Cold mountain winds drifted across Cloud Mist Peak as the morning sun slowly rose above the towering mountains of the Lingyuan Sect. The sect was vast and powerful, built upon five towering peaks that stood like heavenly pillars piercing the clouds. Each peak was ruled by a powerful elder known as a Peak Master, and together they formed the backbone of the sect's strength. Among them were Heaven Sword Peak, Spirit Medicine Peak, Thunder Flame Peak, Array Formation Peak, and the quietest of them all—Cloud Mist Peak.

Compared to the other peaks, Cloud Mist Peak looked lonely and somewhat neglected. It lacked the bustling activity of disciples training in courtyards or elders lecturing in grand halls. The spiritual energy here was thin, and the number of disciples could be counted on one hand. In the eyes of many within the sect, Cloud Mist Peak was the weakest of the five peaks.

Standing alone inside a simple wooden courtyard was a young man wearing gray sect robes. His name was Lin Tian, and though he looked no older than twenty, his eyes carried a calm depth that seemed far beyond his age. He gazed silently at the distant mountains while the cool breeze brushed past him.

Lin Tian sighed softly. His life had not begun in this world.

Ten years ago, he had been an ordinary man living in the modern world on Earth. His life had been simple and uneventful until a sudden accident ended it. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself reborn in an unfamiliar world filled with cultivators—people who could manipulate spiritual energy, split mountains with their swords, and soar through the sky.

At first, Lin Tian struggled to adapt to this strange new world. However, everything changed when he turned ten years old.

On that day, an old man appeared before him.

The old man had messy white hair, a long beard, and a pair of sleepy eyes. His clothes looked plain and worn, and he carried himself like someone who didn't care much about appearances. Yet despite his lazy demeanor, the moment he arrived, the surrounding air seemed to grow heavier with pressure.

"Kid," the old man had said while scratching his beard, "do you want to become my disciple?"

Lin Tian would never forget those words.

That seemingly unremarkable old man was actually the Peak Master of Cloud Mist Peak, one of the five Peak Masters of the Lingyuan Sect. Although his status was high, everyone in the sect knew he was the weakest among the five masters.

Still, for Lin Tian, meeting him was the turning point of his new life.

From that day forward, the old man took him to Cloud Mist Peak and accepted him as his personal disciple.

Over the next ten years, the old man personally guided Lin Tian through every aspect of cultivation. He taught him sword techniques, breathing methods, and the principles of controlling spiritual energy. Sometimes he lectured seriously about the sect's history and the dangers of the cultivation world. Other times, he simply sat beside Lin Tian drinking tea while watching the drifting clouds.

Because Cloud Mist Peak had almost no disciples, Lin Tian grew up in an unusually quiet environment. The two of them often argued about trivial matters, laughed over small jokes, and occasionally spent entire afternoons in peaceful silence.

Sometimes the old man would say strange things.

One day while watching the sunset, he casually muttered, "Kid… one day this peak will become the most famous place in the entire sect."

Lin Tian had never taken those words seriously.

Until today.

The courtyard was silent.

The door to the old man's room was wide open, gently swaying in the wind.

But the old man himself was nowhere to be found.

Lin Tian had searched the entire peak. The training grounds, the tea pavilion, even the mountain paths leading down the peak.

There was no sign of him.

No message.

No explanation.

No trace.

The only thing left behind was a small object resting quietly on the wooden table inside the courtyard.

Lin Tian slowly walked toward the table.

His fingers tightened slightly as he reached out and picked up the object.

It was a golden token engraved with ancient characters.

Cloud Mist Peak.

Lin Tian stared at the token for a long moment.

This was the Peak Master Token, the symbol of authority for Cloud Mist Peak. Whoever possessed it held absolute control over the peak and its disciples.

Only one person should have been holding this token.

His master.

"Old man…" Lin Tian murmured quietly.

"What kind of joke is this?"

But the mountains offered no answer.

The wind whispered through the trees, carrying only silence.

After standing there for several minutes, Lin Tian slowly closed his eyes.

For ten years, that old man had been his master, his teacher, and the closest thing he had to family in this world.

And now he had disappeared without even saying goodbye.

When Lin Tian opened his eyes again, the sadness within them had faded into calm determination.

"Fine," he muttered softly.

"If you want to disappear, at least leave me something to work with."

Just as the words left his mouth, a strange mechanical voice suddenly echoed inside his mind.

DING!

Lin Tian froze.

A faint light flashed before his eyes as unfamiliar information poured into his mind.

Host Detected.

Peak Master Authority Confirmed.

Cloud Mist Peak Management System Activated.

Lin Tian's eyes widened in shock.

"A system…?"

Having lived on Earth before, he immediately understood what this meant.

Before he could process it further, another notification appeared.

First Mission Issed.

Open a Computer Shop.

Lin Tian blinked in disbelief.

"A… what?"

Images suddenly appeared in his mind—rows of tables, glowing screens, strange machines that looked exactly like the computers from his previous world.

Lin Tian rubbed his forehead in confusion.

"In a cultivation sect… you want me to open an internet café?"

The system continued as if ignoring his disbelief.

Shop Protection Activated.

Rules:

No fighting allowed inside the shop.Anyone attempting violence will be instantly suppressed.Absolute safety zone.

Lin Tian slowly lowered his hand.

This situation was getting more ridiculous by the second.

He had just become the Peak Master of Cloud Mist Peak, and instead of managing disciples or improving cultivation resources, the system wanted him to run a computer shop.

However, another message soon appeared.

Virtual Trial Realms Available.

Players entering the computers will experience battle simulations.

Possible benefits include:

Combat experience.Technique comprehension.Cultivation insight.

Lin Tian suddenly froze.

"…Wait."

If those benefits were real, then this wasn't just some meaningless game.

It was a training ground.

A training ground unlike anything the cultivation world had ever seen.

Before he could think further, hurried footsteps suddenly echoed from outside the courtyard.

A young disciple ran in, breathing heavily.

"Senior Brother Lin!" he called anxiously.

Lin Tian turned to look at him.

"What is it?"

The disciple hesitated before speaking.

"The elders are calling for you."

Lin Tian raised an eyebrow.

"Why?"

The disciple swallowed nervously.

"The other Peak Masters heard that the Cloud Mist Peak Master has disappeared."

"And since you're the only disciple left here…"

"They want to know who will take responsibility for this peak."

Lin Tian slowly looked down at the golden token resting in his hand.

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Perfect timing," he said quietly.

He slipped the Peak Master Token into his sleeve and began walking toward the courtyard gate.

If the other peaks wanted to know who was in charge of Cloud Mist Peak now…

He would give them their answer.

Because starting today—

Lin Tian was the new Peak Master of Cloud Mist Peak.

And soon, the quietest peak in the Lingyuan Sect would become the most unusual place in the entire cultivation world.

A place filled with strange glowing machines.

A place where cultivators would gather every day.

A place known simply as—

The Computer Shop.
