Nayeon woke up the next morning and went downstairs immediately. What made her head downstairs so fast was because of the smell of steamed rice with soup and kimchi. Who had cooked it? She was about to find out.
She saw Dohyun sitting at the dining table with a meal on the table.
Dohyun was happy to see her.
"Oh, you're finally awake, Nayeon." He said. "If you don't mind, I made us breakfast."
Nayeon was shocked.
"But how? You don't know how to cook, do you?" She was amazed.
"I learned from you yesterday. I'm a fast learner, you know. Let's eat."
Nayeon sat down with Dohyun and they ate. The food tasted wonderful.
"It's almost as good as mine." She said as she ate.
"Thanks. So where should we go today?" Dohyun asked.
"Do you want people to see us together?"
"Yes."
"Then I suggest that we go to an arcade."
"And play games? Not my kind of thing, but alright."
Nayeon and Dohyun finished their meal and got ready to leave. They went to an arcade and made sure that they caught the attention of the public eye.
Nayeon was fascinated by all the numerous games she could play. They got their tokens and Nayeon first suggested a shooting game that Dohyun turned out to be really bad at, despite her teaching him multiple times.
"Mr I'm a fast learner, indeed." Nayeon teased him.
"Oh, really? I'll win this time, just watch." Dohyun sounded confident. But he ended up losing fourteen times against Nayeon.
"Victory!" Nayeon yelled.
"It was luck." Dohyun said.
The both of them suddenly turned around after hearing a familiar voice. "Hey, guys." It was Savannah Harpson and some guy with her.
"Savannah, how are you?" Dohyun asked.
"I'm great." Savannah spoke. "This is the famous Nari Na, right?"
"Yes." Dohyun replied.
"Nice to meet you, Savannah." Nayeon shook Savannah's hand. They had met before. They used to work in the same place, but now she was Dohyun's acting fiancée. Savannah didn't seem to recognise her.
"Oh, and this is my boyfriend, Jino." Savannah introduced the guy beside her.
"Savannah has a boyfriend?" Nayeon thought. "I never knew."
Dohyun and Nayeon introduced themselves as well, and Savannah seemed to notice something about Nayeon.
"Dohyun... Doesn't Nari sound and remind you of Nayeon?" She asked. Nayeon was about to get a panic attack.
"N-no. She doesn't at all." Dohyun responded.
"Well, alright then. See you around" Savannah then left with Jino.
Nayeon calmed down and didn't realise when she got so startled. Dohyun suggested that they continue playing games in the arcade.
After a while of playing games, Dohyun and Nayeon ran out of energy and went to a café to take a break. They got hot coffee and warm muffins.
Dohyun suddenly brought up a topic that Nayeon wasn't expecting.
"So, about the marriage plans..." he began. "Since Christmas is coming soon, we should have the wedding in early January next year, don't you think?"
"January is too early." Nayeon spoke. "I would prefer March or April. January will be busy."
Dohyun smiled.
"Smart girl." He muttered.
"What was that?"
"Oh, nothing..."
Nayeon suddenly looked concerned.
"Hey, Dohyun... Do we have to kiss when we're getting married?"
Dohyun looked surprised.
"Well, yes, I suppose. That's how it goes."
Nayeon put her head on the table and started imagining kissing Dohyun on their wedding day in front of everyone. She imagined Dohyun's soft looking lips touching hers. "That's enough, Nayeon!" She said to herself. Then she lifted her head and tried to look normal.
"Uhm... Okay. If that's how it goes..." She spoke.
"By the way, Nayeon." Dohyun began. "My parents have invited us for a Christmas party at their place."
"A Christmas party?" Nayeon repeated.
"Yes. It will be amazing. You'll have a great time, Nayeon. Trust me."
"Sure. When is it?"
"December twenty. So it isn't far anymore."
"Okay. I would love to attend. Is Leah going to be there?"
"Of course she will. Our families are very close."
Nayeon groaned and rested her head on the table. Dohyun laughed and patted her head gently. For some reason, Nayeon was enjoying the way Dohyun patted her head. She loved the way he treated her as if she were his real lover. She wished that she could be his true lover...
When they went back to Dohyun's residence after their outing, Dohyun showed Nayeon some videos and pictures that the public took of them. Nayeon was surprised that they were already all over social media just within some days. Dohyun looked at Nayeon and laughed at her surprised expression.
"Look how surprised you are, Nayeon." He said.
"Yeah, I know." She said.
"So we still have some days left until the Christmas party. We'll prepare before then. I'll get you a new dress."
"But I already have-"
Dohyun put his finger over her lips and it made Nayeon blush.
"Not a word from you, Nayeon. You are my fiancée, whether fake or not." He said in a serious tone. "I'm obligated to spoil you."
Nayeon immediately changed the topic before she blushed any harder.
"So how's work?" She asked.
"It's good." Dohyun said as he walked away. "I'm going to bed now. Goodnight."
He then went into his room. Did she offend him somehow? Nayeon started feeling guilty about changing the topic. She went to bed feeling guilty and thinking about how to make it up to Dohyun the following day.
