Nayeon got a sudden call from Minju early the next morning.
Minju sounded worried.
"Nayeon, sorry to wake you up so abruptly." She said.
"It's fine. What happened?" Nayeon asked.
"I took Ariyana to the hospital to check her like you said, and the doctor told me that Ariyana has got pneumonia."
Nayeon was horrified.
"Oh, dear! Where is Ariyana now?"
"We are at home and she is still asleep. I'm giving her the medications that the doctor told me to use."
"Are there any results showing?"
"No results so far. She has just been coughing and sneezing."
"I should come visit."
"No, Nayeon! I've got this. I can take care of my own daughter."
Nayeon was surprised that Minju yelled like that.
"I-I know you can, Minju. I never said you couldn't..."
"Oh, right... Sorry, Nayeon."
"Have you talked to Haerin?"
"Not yet. But I plan to."
"The sooner the better."
Nayeon hoped that Ariyana would gradually get better and her illness would not worsen.
Dohyun suddenly knocked and came into her room. He reminded her that the Christmas party at his parent's place would soon be held in a few days, so they needed to start preparing from today.
Nayeon understood and got ready. Then they went to the mall together where they started looking for Nayeon's dress first.
Nayeon was checking for the dress that she liked the most and a green elegant wavy dress caught her eye. She showed Dohyun and he also seemed to like it. "It's good," he said. "The green gives off those Christmas vibes."
They purchased it and went to buy jewelry for Nayeon next. Nayeon tried arguing with Dohyun that buying her more jewellery would be useless since she already had a lot that he had bought for her before. But Dohyun won their small argument and he bought Nayeon more gold jewelry to match with her dress. He also bought her a new bag and shoes to complete the look.
Next, Dohyun went to get the suit that he would wear, and he and Nayeon argued on the colour that he should get.
"I want to wear black." Dohyun said.
"No, this dark green suit would look much better." Nayeon argued.
"And why do you say so?"
"Because we could match, and green is a Christmas colour."
"You want to match with me?"
Nayeon blushed.
"Yes! I do want to match with you...!"
Dohyun smiled.
"Okay, then. I'll take the green suit."
"Good."
Dohyun bought the green suit and he enjoyed seeing the happy expression on Nayeon's face.
Dohyun also bought himself some other new things and after their shopping trip, they had some ice cream together. Nayeon got flashbacks of what happened the last time they had ice cream and really tried her best not to stain herself. Fortunately, she managed to not stain herself but something inside her was craving Dohyun's attention. Nayeon suddenly found herself purposely staining the sides of her mouth with ice cream and Dohyun immediately cleaned it off her face. Nayeon enjoyed how close he was when he was wiping her face.
What had made her do that? She wondered.
