He is looking at the city enjoying the morning view. The city is filled with technology so advanced that it looks like freshly cut scene of a science fiction movie, the hover cars and the large skyscrapers are giving a breathtaking view as it's basking with the golden ray of Sun. It is one of the largest cities in the continent of Deltaheim, located on the planet Vaeltris.
The boy's name is Kaios Grimwold, He is the adopted son of the two Tier 7 awakeners. In a planet like this where the strength of the Magister is a Low Tier 6 Ascender the couple is considered as bigshots. As a result the boy lived a care free and good life.
But for the boy today is an important day, as today is the day of transfusion. In this day he is going to get the nano transfusion and shed the Mortal skin to become a Awakener.
Every children on the planet Vaeltris got NMT on their 17th birth day, be it private or through government.
Yesterday was Sunday, 19th Feb 2500 PAE his birthday. He turned 17, so he had to initiate between week without any complications.
Kairos then turn his head from the windows to the left and look into bright blue pupil. This pupil belongs to a beautiful woman who looked like lady of late thirties. She has the bright orange hair and dressed in a formal outfit. She is his mom and one of the few tier 7 Awakeners in the planet, although in early realm. She is the head commander of an Elite Raid Group of their Family Guild Echo Legion. She is here to take him to the NMT(Nano Machine Transfusion) center for the awakening.
Kaios then shifted his eye again into the window and asked, "Mom, what do you think of today's Awakening session?"
His mother Lyra Griswold smiled gracefully and replied, "Don't worry honey, everything is going to be alright. Your awakening will be great and safe."
"What kind of power do you think, I'll awaken?", Kaios asked again. To which his mother said, "Hmm... that will be known after checking your nano material compatibility, but don't worry about it, all abilities are great you just have to use it efficiently and don't forget you are our son after all.". Having said this his mother smiled smugly. Kaios turn his head and look into the smug face of his mother and shake his head after seeing carefree attitude of his mother.
Like this the mother and son duo talked about for some time. As the time passed the hovercar slows down and stops near a building. After the halt both of them came out of the hover car and faced NMT building.
It is a four story building looking like the dream of a architecture. Both the them enter the ground hall of the building and Kaios marvels at the technological grandiose of the center.
Then Lyra goes to the reception and asks the lady, "Can you look into the appointment booked in the name of the Lyra Griswold?"
"Sure..", the lady said, but soon a surprised expression could be seen on her face, also on all the people pesent in the Hall.
The lady collected herself from her stupor and said, "Mam, your appointment is in 2nd floor room number 120."
Lyra nods and go for the escalator with Kaios ignoring the frenzied crowd behind them.
"Is she the famous Lyra Griswold?"
"Yeah man, look how beautiful and graceful she is."
"Is that her son next to her?", asks a lady.
"Yes, I think they are here for the NMT."
"Damn, an awakening ceremony for someone from that family? This is big…"
As the chatters on lobby continued both Lyra and Kaios reached at the door step of the appointment room. The room is named as NMT Operation Room, it is here where Kaios will have his Nano Material Transfusion. Both of them enter the room and met a man with wavy black hair, glasses and a standard Lab coat. The name of the man is Dr. Karl. He is a renowned doctor and researcher throughout the continent for his research on the NMT and compatibility theories. He is here on the request of Lyra for Kaios's NMT procedure.
"Nice to see you again Lyra", Karl greeted Lyra and reached out for a handshake.
"same here Karl.", Lyra replied with accepting the handshake.
Both the Doctor and Lyra chatted for quite some times reminiscing the old day and now their hectic schedules.
Lyra and Karl met in the many times in past due to their work business or other things, so they had known each other quite a lot.
Karl adjusted his glasses and smirked. "So, how's Dante doing these days?"
Lyra sighed. "Busy with guild matters as always. Hardly home these days."
Dante Griswold, a Peak Tier 7 Awakener unlike Lyra who is Early Tier 7 and the Guild Master of Echo Legion. He is one of the strongest persons after the Magisters, so his authority and power is vast in the Deltaheim.
Kaios rolled his eyes. "Figures. A father too busy to see his son awaken."
Karl chuckled and shifted his eyes to Kaios, "Well then, let's make sure your awakening is worth his attention."
After the conversation ended Karl and Kaios went to the Operation room, whereas Lyra sat down and waited for the Awakening to end.
Before her is a giant one way glass wall to see the procedure of transfusion.
Inside the room Kaios looked in awe at the cutting edge medical equipments, some of the tube looks like those equipments made for the super soldiers experiment both figuratively and literally.
Karl sees the look on the Kaios and asked, "Hmm... are you feeling nervous?"
Kaios nods, "Yes... a little." He clenches his fist and steady himself for the transfusion.
Karl patted his back and said, "Well becoming awakener is not a small thing."
"I just didn't think that it will be so....intense.", Kaios said while nodding his head.
"That's normal, but you will be fine. Now get ready we will begin.", Karl said confidently looking at the equipments.
Kaios nodded and headed to the changing room to change into the lab dress while Karl is double-checked the equipments for smooth procedure.
After changing into the required attire, Kaios emerged from the changing room. He stepped into the operation room near the large metallic tube.
Karl looking at the Kaios instructed, "Lie down.", as the upper lid of the metallic tube opened up exhausting large amount of gas blinding Kaios momentarily.
Kaios obeyed, sinking into the metallic tube. The upper lid closed and a blue liquid filled the tube engulfing the Kaios except head.
Karl ran his fingers across the holo-graphic panel and asked, "Ready?" In a calm tone.
Kairos swallowed hard, controlling his rapid heartbeat replied, "Yeah."
Outside Lyra is watching the scene with unreadable expression but even then you don't need to be an expert see her clenching fists and the tense atmosphere around her.
In the Operation room after hearing the Kaios's reply he initiates the device.
Soon an announcement heard in a mechanical voice [NANO MATERIAL TRANSFUSION INITIATING].
Many mechanical arm with the needles descend ready to attach themselves with Kaios's body emerged in blue liquid.
[TRANSFERRING NANO MATERIALS] again the mechanical voice announced.
A sharp hiss. Cold sting.
Then came-Pain.
Kaios felt as if his body is submerged in the lava, burning every corner of his body. With the burning pain he also felt like millions of ants are tearing and eating his every muscle fibre like he is a grand feast for them.
