Thirty minutes later they were back at the manor. They didn't want to be seen by the guards. Layla pointed to a building close to the stable where Alpha Kendrick took her too early.
"Marcus lives there. He's off duty tonight, we can go tall right away."
"I hope you're right about him." Rae placed her life back to its former position and walked to the door of his house.
After a moment, it opened. They both stared at Marcus, a tall, broad-shouldered man, whose hair was messy; it was more like he was asleep. He was surprised to see Rae and Layla.
"What's going on? It's late.'
Rae didn't waste time. "We need your help. Kendrick's in trouble. There's a plot against him, traitors in the pack. They're working with rogues to kill him at the northern border."
Marcus's face hardened. "That's a serious claim. You got proof?"
