Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Golden Rebirth

On a quiet morning, when the window of my room was in front of the desk with the computer

above it... it always became the main focus between waking up, brushing my teeth, washing

my eyes and going to the computer to play quietly.

The sun rising over the window was so beautiful and calm, my games were pleasurable

because of the atmosphere it transmitted into the room.

My mother always called me for lunch, and I ate happily because I could taste the beautiful

flavors created by her cooking skills... and I didn't even complain about what she cooked,

because she never missed a hand in her dishes.

However, that was just a basic image of my endless routine that never changed no matter

how hard I tried... since I was completely obsolete in trying to evolve in the things that I love

and that could pay off in the future.

I would eat, play, sleep, study, wake up, eat, play, sleep... and the same thing would happen

every day without a drastic change.

And as an escape valve, I used first-person shooter games so that I could feel a little

interesting in something that could actually be good without relying on complicated labor...

since I would give up on any project without even spending a month.

Realizing all this without a guaranteed return, I was already feeling seven feet under on a

hospital bed, receiving chemotherapy in heavy amounts in my catheter where it was

connected to the veins.

My body was fighting terminal cancer, and my mother didn't tell me this information to

prevent me from panicking... but my hearing has always been above normal, and hearing all

this before I had even started chemotherapy... I no longer had any hope.

"Will I ever be able to accomplish anything significant...?" I wondered as I watched the liquid

falling out of that plastic bag where I stored my serum.

My mother, who was already by my side, avoided crying because of the situation I was

facing... in her mind, showing weakness would make me die quickly.

But deep down, I already knew that it would be difficult for me to get out of this... and that

was fine, fate is shaped as life brings us.

"We'll be home soon, Shion." My mother's weakened voice echoed in my mind, giving me

false hope of a return that would never be fulfilled.

My sister, who was out of my rest room, was sitting in a chair next to my room where I

couldn't tell which feeling was supposed to be overflowing... not sadness, not happiness,

nothing else.

Her face was neutral and she couldn't react to my case, and I feared that one day she might

go through the same thing, since she comes from the same family line.

But I doubt very much that this would be her possible fate of death, she may have been

lucky not to develop it... but me, I ended up being drawn by the role of life with 5 distinct

numbers that I will never find out what they are, but that have brought me here.

"Well, at least I hope I can realize these crazy analogies that I always end up making in

some afterlife or reincarnation... if there really is one." Mentally speaking, as I watched the

window outside the hospital falling a few snowflakes one afternoon.

My eyes slowly closed, and without being able to make a single bodily movement, the

machine monitoring my body began to beep... realizing that the tumor had overcome my

body's immunity, killing me silently and without any search for a way home.

The last sounds I heard after my eyes closed were my mother dialing a doctor and my sister

opening the door, realizing what had happened.

[Time: Unknown / Location: ?]

"Hmm..." I slowly began to open my eyes, no matter how blurry they were and how faint the

colors were.

As my vision recovered, I stood up and began to move my head a little to make myself

comfortable since I was lying on the ground without any comfort... as if I had been thrown

into an unknown street with no answers.

"Where am I? What is this clear place?" I asked myself as I looked around the whitish

environment, unsure of what was going on.

My mind bordered on confusion, and in the end I began to be ninety percent sure that I had

gone from this to the next... and that this place did indeed resemble the heaven where

everyone who has ever been alive now lives.

I stared at my hand, reflecting on what had happened in my life before I died... I lost my little

job that I was steadily building up at home to the point where I could help my mother, I lost

the 50/50 in softpity to Furina in Genshin Impact that I wanted so badly, my sister had no

resolution fulfilled on her deep depression where I couldn't do anything about it, and to make

matters worse... I was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I was diagnosed with terminal cancer,

which led me here.

When I felt that everything seemed to be coming to an end, where I would live in this white

room with no direction or purpose... something began to fly over the roof of the place.

My eyes became attentive to what was happening, as if something was calling me and

wanting me to take action.

"Does that flying thing look like some kind of... golden scripture?" My expression remained

puzzled, as I described in my mind every glowing word that flew above my head 5 meters

away.

They quickly joined me and began to guide me to an unknown corner of the room.

Walking further without being able to see anything relevant, a door quickly appeared in my

very eyes... the golden scriptures that were around my body formed a sentence.

"Come in and sort it out." The scripture forms a sentence in front of me and disappears

without a trace.

Seeing the choice it offered me, I opened the door and felt a huge flash across my face

where I couldn't see anything through the door... and when I entered, the door had already

disappeared.
