A 3 year old boy was now hiding inside a cave, pondering about what he should do about his life.
The boy's name was Nicolas Picaro. A reincarnator.
During his previous life, Nicolas was just your average 27 year old guy who, on his way home, got hit by the world-famous truck-kun and died.
As he woke up, he found himself in an unfamiliar world, as a newborn baby.
He later learned that this world had the concept of magic power so was quite excited to learn once he grew up.
For three years, he lived a peaceful life with loving parents as a farmer's son, enjoying his childhood and having the idea of later becoming an inventor who would bring modern technology to this seemingly primitive magic world to become rich.
But against his expectations, bandits attacked the village he was living in.
Both of his parents died during the attack in order to allow him to escape. His father got killed right before his eyes to delay the bandits while his mom got shot with an arrow in the back as the both of them were running away.
Thankfully, there was a thick forest nearby so he was able to use his little stature to hide and run from the bandits.
Nicolas found a cave after running away for a long time and decided to hide there to rest.

'Goddammit, those damn bandits.' Nicolas thought to himself while he was resting.
Even though he was traumatized and angry for while after seeing both of his parents die before his eyes, he finally calmed down after rationalizing everything.
He was just a powerless three years old kid right now. What could he do now except trying to survive.
As for revenge, he wasn't too keen on it. He wasn't some clueless kid but a grown man inside. He didn't even know the bandits's face since they covered their faces.
After thinking about what he should do for now, he decided to go to the nearby forest to harvest some fruits and berries since he hadn't eaten for quite a while.
But as he made his way outside the cave, he suddenly saw a giant white dragon with scales glittering like diamonds making its way inside the cave.
Nicolas immediately hid behind a rock nearby hoping that the creature wouldn't notice him.
'Crap! Why is my luck so bad?'
'Out of all the things I could encounter, I met a goddamn Dragon.'
Nicolas tried his best to hold his breath but unfortunately for him, the dragon's head suddenly poked out looking at him and a voice was soon heard.
"Child, what's your name?"
Hearing the deep voice, Nicolas fainted on the spot out of sheer fear and despair.

After a while, Nicolas slowly woke up after smelling the scent of grilled meat.
'Huh?! Where am I? The last thing I remember was encountering a dragon.'
As he was looking around, he was seemingly still inside the cave he stayed in. His eyes first landed on the grilled meat before him but as he turned his head, he suddenly came face to face with the dragon.
Seeing Nicolas frozen in place, the dragon began to speak "Do not worry child, I have no intention of eating you."
Although Nicolas relaxed a bit after hearing that, he still didn't let his guard down completely.
"That meat is for you so eat for now, child." The dragon said after seeing Nicolas still quite wary of him.
Although Nicolas was scared, he decided to pounce on the meat after his stomach growled but he didn't forget to thank the dragon before eating.
The dragon didn't say anything back and just waited for Nicolas to finish eating.

After a while, Nicolas finally finished eating and the dragon finally spoke again:
"So, Child, Tell me why you were in my nest?"
Hearing that this cave was the dragon's nest made Nicolas quite afraid
'So that's why I didn't encounter any animals on the way here. This part is the territory of this dragon'
After pondering for a bit, Nicolas decided to tell the dragon about his parents killed by bandits and that he ran to this cave to hide from them.
Seeing that Nicolas had nowhere to go, the dragon asked:
"So what are you going to from now on? Are you planning to take revenge for your parents?"
"I don't know. For now, I just want to become stronger to protect myself and survive.
As for revenge, I don't even know the faces of the bandits who attacked my village so how could I do it. And I don't think my parents would want me to waste my life by trying to avenge them." Nicolas responded with his true thoughts since he didn't have any reason to lie anyway.
The dragon was silent for while seemingly in thoughts. The dragon then began to speak:
"Child, are you interested in learning dragon slayer magic from me?"
'Huh?! Dragon Slayer Magic?? Am I in the world of Fairy tail?'
Nicolas never knew that he was in the world of Fairy tail during the three years he lived because he was living in a remote village and there wasn't any signs or clues that he was ever in the world of Fairy tail. He always thought that he got Isekai'd in a random fantasy world.
After learning that he could learn magic, and on top of that, Dragon slayer magic, Nicolas didn't hesitate anymore and immediately accepted the dragon's offer to learn magic from him. As for the the side effects, he had the idea of implanting himself with a dragon lacrima to stop them since none of the 2nd generation dragon slayers seemed to be worried about dragonification.
"My name is Carbos, the diamond dragon. Tell me your name, child." Carbos the dragon said in a loud and solemn voice.
"My name is Nicolas Picaro, sir." Nicolas said matching the energy of Carbos.
"Very well. From now on, you shall be my disciple." Carbos said to him.
Nicolas then bowed in 90° angle to show respect to his newfound teacher while shouting:
"Please take care of me."
And thus began Nicolas's journey to become a Dragon slayer.
