Cecilia shifted uncomfortably, lifting her foot as if to push him away. But Blaze caught her ankle in one swift motion. She wobbled, almost losing her balance, only to be steadied firmly by his strong arms. His voice was soft, almost dripping with warmth. "What's wrong? Not used to heels? Shall I carry you over there to rest for a bit?"
"Blaze… you're back together with Cecilia?" Sherry's voice was sharp with surprise as she pointed at Cecilia. "Do you even know this woman's history? She's divorced and has been with an older man!"
Cecilia froze, her face instantly draining of color. She couldn't imagine how many people knew her secrets. Why did even someone as irrelevant as Sherry feel the need to dig up her past and throw her divorce in her face?
