After lunch, Cecilia finally remembered her phone. She grabbed her car keys, ready to head out, but froze when she saw over twenty missed calls blinking on the screen. A sinking feeling rose in her chest—something bad was coming. She quickly called back.
"Miss Spark, you need to come—something big's happened!"
Today was Peter Spark's surgery day. Blaze had already informed the hospital in advance, and he had never let the medical bills lapse. The only reason he had been pressuring Cecilia to pay was to send her a warning.
He had talked about using Peter Spark as leverage against her, but in the end, Blaze was too softhearted to actually do it. It was all just talk.
But this afternoon, the hospital called.
"Cecilia transferred the money?" Blaze asked in shock, his voice low and tense after a moment. "Check carefully—where did she get that much money?"
