Chapter 6 - CHAPTER 6: MARRIAGE PROPOSAL 2

While leaving part the main reason why she was doing that despite Liam being short-lived, she truthfully explained everything. It wasn't like she was lying.

She truly needed a husband. After being stimulated by her younger sister, she wanted to prove to everyone that she could be married for over three months and be happy. She wanted to be with someone, a man who would not fall in love with someone else when he was with her. And it so happens that she just had to bump into Liam.

When she saw him, imagine the shock she experienced? Fortunately, she didn't have to use any schemes to have time with him since he literally fainted in front of her. Giving her this timely opportunity.

If he was truly the person she saw in her dreams, then it was possible for her to have a child this time. If it fails, then she would accept that she was truly cursed and there was no way out for her anymore. But before that happens, she was going to do her best and work hard.

Moreover, who said that she would let him die?

As long as there was enough money, prolonging a life could be achieved. She just needed to find the right connections and have a thicker wallet to do so.

Liam, on the other side, didn't expect that the woman who had saved him and proposed to him was that powerful. He was stunned by her confession at first before he was at ease. It was the first time that he had come across such an honest business person.

She could have hidden the fact that she was once married and now divorced, but she still did it. If that wasn't trust, then what else was?

After the betrayal from his ex-girlfriend and best friend, being around someone who trusted him and was honest with him in his last days didn't seem to be a very bad thing.

In fact, he felt warmhearted. If he were to be honest, this offer was more beneficial to him than her. If he were to summarize what had just happened. It would be Sonia wanting to marry her for a child. Which wasn't a bad thing for him.

It would be great to leave a child behind before he dies as well. There was no loss on his part. It's just that he would owe Sonia a lot, but did that matter anymore?

With no excuse to reject this wonderful opportunity. He took in a deep breath and looked at Sonia, who remained taciturn as if nothing was bothering her. That made him feel panicked.

It was as if, if he were to decline, she wouldn't mind his answer. Such a person would surely find someone else. Then wouldn't he suffer a great loss?

The thought of such a thing happening didn't sit well with him.

So once his thoughts were organized, he hurriedly responded, giving her an answer. "I will accept the offer. I will marry you and perform my duties as your husband, without fail. If there is anywhere that I lack, don't hesitate to tell me and correct me."

Sonia's expressionless face finally changed, as a smile appeared on it upon hearing that answer. Inwardly she sighed with relief and danced around triumphally, but outwardly, she didn't act that way.

"That's good, but you will have to sign a prenuptial agreement. I hope that you don't mind!"

Liam hurriedly shook his head, a faint smile on his face. "I don't mind."

He was already getting a lot. He didn't want to be an ungrateful wolf who would vie for what wasn't his.

Sonia sighed with relief upon hearing that.

"Good. You ….." Sonia was about to say something when she was interrupted by her phone ringing.

'Who is calling now?' she wondered furiously, thinking about the few people who could call her on her personal line.

Ring. Ring. Ring.

She fished the phone from her handbag and when she saw the caller ID, her gaze became frosty and Liam shuddered when he saw her like that.

With a glance, he could tell that whoever she was about to talk to. It wasn't going to end well.

Sonia's jaws tightened upon seeing the caller but still swiped to answer the call. "Mother!" she called; her tone not so friendly.

[You …. Have you calmed down?]

Sonia clicked her tongue as she let out a mocking chuckle. "As in what exactly, mother? You need to be specific. I am a bit busy at the moment."

[You … ah … don't you know your little sister by now? Why don't you forgive her a bit? You know at times she talks without thinking?]

Sonia's gaze darkened as she stood to her feet. "A child! Mother, that child is nineteen years old, in university and dating. Since she now knows how to stand against me, her sister, the one who is feeding her and making her look so nice to be pursued by others. Then she is an adult!" she angrily yelled, thinking about how disrespectful Felinda was to her earlier.

[Alas, child. There aren't any grudges between siblings _]

Sonia could hear that the other party wanted to coax and soften her, but this time, Felinda had pressed buttons that she wasn't supposed to. Before her mother could finish her words, she cut her off, saying, "Mother. I will not easily forgive Felinda this time. Since she is so bold and her boyfriend is the best, she can curse me at will. I will not let her spend my money. How can she raise her boyfriend with the money of a cursed person? Let her go and work like others. I don't care if she dates one hundred boys or one. But at least let her eyes be open. How dare she threaten me to give her ..." the more she thought about how ridiculous Felinda was, the angrier she was.

She even forgot that she was in the ward with a patient in it. At that moment, Liam was looking at Sonia with infatuation.

There was something that people around him didn't know. He had a thing for powerful women. It wasn't about money or fame, but the way they carried themselves. It was easy to see if a person could become an alpha in the future by just judging how the other was at that moment.

It was another reason why he fell for his ex-girlfriend. Something about her made her look like a leader. He wasn't the kind of person who wanted to be the head. Perhaps he was influenced by his family.

In his family, his mother was the head of the house and his father just followed his mother's instructions to the tee without fail. The family was harmonious, and he wanted that for himself as well.

Who wouldn't?
