Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 7: MARRIAGE PROPOSAL 3

So, when she came into his life, he was happy, not knowing that one day his best friend would succumb to the same influence.

Fortunately, he came across someone even more powerful. And listening to her as she talked to her mother, admonishing her little sister about whatever issues they had, he felt his blood racing. Something that didn't even happen when she was offering a marriage to him earlier.

'I think that I am in trouble!' he thought as he closed his eyes, suppressing the desire rising in him.

Sonia, unaware of Liam's thoughts and feelings, was feeling tired because of her mother's words.

"Mother, I am busy and, in the months, to come. Please don't call me to talk about Felinda. If she is truly sorry, she knows my place and has my number. Let her apologize herself. Don't spoil her like this. The more you do this, the more you destroy her. At her age, don't forget what I was doing!" without waiting for her mother to respond, she hung up the call and tightened her jaws, feeling frustrated at how easily other people were having it.

She remembered clearly how she was working tirelessly at her father's restaurant when she was around Felinda's age. When she was twenty-two, she became the head of the family when her father was paralyzed and the restaurant was going under.

And yet Felinda, who grew up and was raised with the money she earned with so much blood, sweat and tears, dared to curse her. There was no way she was going to give in that easily.

Felinda needed a bit of teaching. Otherwise, she would raise an ancestor. There was no way she was going to allow that to happen.

Anyway, it wasn't like there was anyone in the family who could influence her and force her to unblock those cards. It was her money. So, what if she refuses to let someone spend it? What else could Felinda do to her?

She might as well spend that money on Liam. After all, he was going to be her husband. Without spoiling the young man, how could she be certain that he would remain by her side?

Talking about Liam, Sonia then remembered that she was still in the ward. Thinking about how fierce she was on the call earlier, she embarrassingly turned around, hoping that she didn't scare the young man away, though she knew that even if he tried to run away, she would pull him from the ends of the world.

If she hadn't seen him, she wouldn't care but now that he was in her hands. How could she let him go easily like that?

However, when she turned around and looked at the young man, her heart started beating wildly upon seeing the familiar gaze he was looking at her with, which reminded her of the man in the dreams.

'Could it be that in this lifetime, he still loves me?' she couldn't help but hope as she looked at him nonchalantly, not wanting to expose her soft side.

Nonetheless, she didn't want to scare the young man, lest she misunderstand what she had seen. Once their gazes locked, she opened her mouth and said, "You take a rest in the hospital today and don't answer any calls from your agent. I will send my lawyer later with the prenuptial agreement. Tomorrow morning, we will go and get the marriage certificate.

You shall be living with me after that and don't worry about your contract with your agency. I will take care of it. So, be at ease tonight and don't think about unnecessary things or people. Can you do that?" her tone leaving no room for arguing.

Liam smilingly nodded, finding her words very appropriate. It wasn't like he could argue with her after what she said. Her domineering side made him feel safe to some extent.

"I will follow what you said."

Sonia was very satisfied with this response. She didn't want anyone refuting her for whatsoever reason. So, Liam's response was to her liking.

After mentioning several things to him, she bid him farewell and left the ward.

Outside the ward, Gerald was waiting for her. As soon as she saw him, she nodded at him as she walked past him and he followed shortly after, reporting.

"I have gathered all the dirty information on the young master's agent as well as the higher-ups of his agency. We won't even need to pay any termination fee tomorrow as long as we use what we have wisely!"

Sonia smiled when she heard that. Without looking back at Gerald, she responded, "That's good. Find more if possible and have Queen take the case. I need Liam liberated from that agency as well as his agent as soon as possible."

"Yes, Ma'am," he acquiesced to her instructions without refuting them before adding, "Do you want me to send you home?"

Sonia shook her head as she walked towards the elevator while nodding to the nurses who were greeting her and responded, "I will drive myself. Just deal with Liam's matter and have the prenuptial agreement prepared. Have him sign it tonight. Don't forget the additional terms I talked about earlier."

Gerald, recalling what Sonia told him earlier, nodded in agreement as he responded, "I will have it prepared soon. I will contact the Civil Affairs Bureau as well and have them be prepared. Is there anything else I need to prepare?"

Ding!

The elevator opened and Sonia and Gerald stepped into it before it closed shortly after.

"Prepare clothes for him. They should match mine. I can't have any blemishes!"

Gerald nodded knowingly, jotting that down mentally.

The elevator stopped several times on the way before reaching the basement parking where the car was parked.

When they got there, Sonia boarded the car and said a few words to Gerald before driving away.

Only when he saw the car leaving did he breathe with relief.

"It's time to work overtime!" he said sighingly as he walked towards the elevator while taking his phone out to make several calls.

It was going to be another busy night. He could foresee it.
