Liam chuckled lightly as he shook his head while putting the certificate on the bed.
He sat on the bed facing the wardrobe and unlocked his phone to check the messages that came in when he was in a daze earlier.
[Dorcas: Liam, if you see this. Please call me. I have been trying to get hold of you, but you weren't picking up your calls. Andrew is exploding this side.]
[Dorcas: I think that you should be careful. I overheard Andrew talking with those traitors. They are planning to hide you and make things difficult for you. Don't be swayed by anything.]
[Andrew: Get your ass over here. Where are you? Do you think that you are some kind of big shot now, don't you?]
His gaze darkened as he read those messages.
"Tche!" he clicked his tongue in disgust as he recalled how, once upon a time, Andrew was very enthusiastic towards him.
He was in university when he was scouted alongside his former best friend, Sean, who snatched his ex-girlfriend when he was unconscious and nearly dying in the hospital.
The two of them had great voices, though Liam could say with certainty that he was much way better than Sean.
Although the two of them didn't get the same manager back then, their relationship remained close. Whenever he found a nice resource that could be shared, he never forgot his friend, not knowing that he even stretched his hand towards what was his – his girlfriend.
Anyway, Andrew was profit-driven, and he was someone who loved pimping his artists. If back then it wasn't for him having Wendy as his girlfriend, Liam didn't know how many women and men Andrew might have sold him to.
After he woke up and everyone learnt that he was terminally ill with a disease that couldn't even be named and identified, Andrew's attitude started changing. He was no longer that enthusiastic towards him.
Maybe Wendy's betrayal also played a part in that, but one thing was for sure, Andrew started hiding him and barely gave him any resources that could make him return to his epic condition.
After a few months of being discharged from the hospital, he finally got that resource. Only for it to be snatched away by Sean and Wendy. He didn't believe that his agent Andrew knew nothing of such.
If he meant well for him, he could have given him a head up, but no, he didn't do so. Instead, he let him go to that gathering where Liam faced those traitors. As if it wasn't enough, he was humiliated and his wounds opened and got salt rubbed in them.
Moreover, he fainted and if Sonia wasn't in that elevator, who knew what more could have happened?
While stuck in the hospital, he didn't receive a single call or text from his agent. Only Dorcas was concerned and kept on trying to reach him, though he literally ignored everyone else because of what was happening.
Now Andrew dares to show up, speaking coldly to him. How dare he?
Thinking about how he would be terminating the contract later, a smile appeared on his face. All the pain of betrayal and being tied to such an inhumane person seem to vanish.
'I am curious to see how ugly your face will be later, Andrew!' he thought slyly as he typed a response to Andrew.
[I will be there in two hours or so. I also am dying to see you!]

SAWYERS HEADQUARTERS
"Ma'am, Rita is here. Should I let her in?] a female secretary's voice rang through the telephone speaker inside Sonia's office.
Sonia at that moment was busy checking some files on the desk when the call came in. She raised her head, a mysterious glint flickering in her eyes upon hearing the caller, and answered, "Um, send her in!"
[Yes, Ma'am.] came the response before the call ended.
Sonia didn't close the files on her desk but looked at the door, lost in a daze for a moment.
Creak.
The door to the office opened and a young woman clad in a black formal suit stepped into the office, closed the door and walked towards Sonia with confident strides.
Sonia watched one of her best secretaries walking towards her and a smile blossomed on her face, thinking about how much Rita was an asset to the company and to her.
Just like how much she treasured Gerald, Rita was her second best. She could be considered her left hand and Gerald her right. That was why, amongst all the people she could have picked to manage Liam, it had to be her. She couldn't trust anyone else near the person she picked to become her final husband. She couldn't afford any mistakes happening. Not now and never.
Badum. Badum.
Her heart was pumping fast as she approached the woman who had changed her life in many ways she couldn't even imagine.
Sonia was her idol, her mentor and her Chief Commander. If she says go to war, she wouldn't ask why but pick her guns and march to the battlefield.
She had the utmost trust and confidence in what her superior did or appointed her to do. However, this time, she was pretty much nervous. After all, it was the first time that she was being asked to do something so serious like that.
What if she messes up?
She was a bit afraid of letting Sonia down. After all, it wasn't child's play that she was going to manage her boss's fourth husband. What if …. Just like the previous three, ended up falling in love with someone else under her watch? How was she going to solve that matter?
Thinking about the many possibilities of something going wrong. Her heart continuously thumped like crazy until she was standing in front of Sonia with a smile on her face.
"Good morning, Ma'am," Rita greeted respectfully, her eyes sparkling with utmost respect as she looked at her boss who was wearing a beautiful white one-piece which suited her pretty well.
Sonia nonchalantly nodded as she answered the greeting. "Um. Did you have a great weekend?"
Rita beamed at hearing that and chirpily responded, "It was wonderful. I had a great time."
Sonia showed a faint smile as she closed the file on her desk and said, "That's good," without adding a few more words.
Rita was already used to her boss's few-word responses. She opened her mouth to say, "Congratulations on your marriage, Ma'am," her tone was filled with sincerity as she said that.
It was only the bold and courageous who dared to marry so many times without care. She didn't think that she could live boldly like that. However, just because her thoughts were like that, didn't mean that she looked down on her boss. After all, everyone had the right to pursue love. What was wrong with what her boss was doing?
