Harmonica had never heard Lucas sound so vulnerable before.
What the hell was wrong with him? And why and how did he get her number?
''Are you going to say what the fuck is wrong with you? Or should I hang up?'' she asked coldly, ignoring how he cursed through the phone.
''How can you be so heartless?'' Lucas questioned again, shock laced in his voice.
He had gotten the files on Harmonica just as he had instructed Grey. And to his shock, it really showed that Harmonica had gotten rid of his baby.
He didn't believe at first, thinking she was playing some kind of tricks on him. But after calling the hospital at Amsterdam where she had done the whole procedure, he finally confirmed that Harmonica had indeed gotten rid of his baby.
How can someone be so heartless?!
''So you really got rid of my child.'' He said, more to himself that to her.
Harmonica bit back a chuckle.
Just like she had expected, Lucas conducted a background check on her. She was sure that he had even put a call through to Dr creed for confirmation.
Who knew she'd be so excited about him getting hurt? He had called her baby a bastard five years ago. Why the hell was he acting like he actually cared?
''Your child?'' She asked, confused.
''Yes my child!'' He snapped.
''You must be kidding! If I remember correctly, that child belongs to your friend.'' Harmonica said, smiling bitterly as his words from years ago struck her hard once again.
''I don't care! Even if it wasn't my child, you had no right taking it away.'' He screamed at her.
''No right?! Screw you and your fucking right! You left a pregnant woman out in the snow because your little ego got bruised. Fuck you! And don't ever call me again!'' Harmonica said and hung up the phone, seething.
''Are you alright?'' Romano asked. He could hear her screaming from the living room.
''I just want to be alone. Please leave.'' Harmonica said, crouching down to the floor as she hugged her knees.
She heard the door open and close, indicating that Romano had left and she immediately broke down in tears.
Memories of how Lucas had treated her kept replaying in her head.
Over and Over and Over again.
Her phone rang non-stop but she kept declining Lucas's calls.
After a while, she angrily picked up the call and pressed it to her ear.
''I told you not to fucking call me aga—
''Moni?'' The voice said and Harmonica paused as tears blurred her vision.
''Mom?'' Harmonica asked anxiously.
''My babyyy'' Grace breathed out happily as she heard her daughter's voice.
''Mommm!'' Harmonica choked out, bawling her eyes out.
She still had no idea how her mom got her contact but she was really happy hearing her sweet voice again.
She had not for once contacted her mother throughout her stay in Amsterdam. It was partly because of her father and because she didn't want the news about her baby reaching Lucas ears.
She yanked her car keys from the counter and headed to the penthouse garage. Once there, she hopped into her car and headed for her mom's place.
She pulled up to her mom's house and old memories of how she used to play around the place came back, making her smile.
She saw her mother, waiting at the doorstep for her.
Happily, she ran straight into her arms like a little girl, Squeezing her mother tightly till she was satisfied.
''I missed you so much mom'' she said, finally letting go.
''Ohh moni. I missed you too'' Grace said, wiping the lone tear that had escaped her eyes.
She pushed open the door and guided her daughter in, placing her on the dining chair as she opened up all the food she had made for her when she heard that she was now in New York.
''Here.'' She said, stretching cutleries towards Harmonica. ''I know you miss my food'' she continued, smiling.
Tears pricked Harmonica's eyes as she started to feel like a bad daughter. All this while, she had indirectly been punishing her mother for her father's mistakes.
She bit into her mother's jambalaya and she closed her eyes as she felt the flavors burst through her mouth, each fighting for dominance.
''It's good'' she said, giving her mom a thumbs up.
After eating, Harmonica narrated her whole stay in Amsterdam to her mother.
Her mother also told her how things had been in New York.
Apparently..after she left, Lucas had been coming to visit them non-stop.
But her mother had made sure that his feet didn't step into her home.
Because of that, her father would constantly get mad at her mother for irrelevant reasons.
He even went as far as meeting up with Lucas to give him a job at his company in order to compensate him for what he did to his daughter.
Lucas had readily agreed and her father was now working in Stone ltd.
Harmonica breathed a sigh of relief, happy that she didn't bump into her father at stone ltd. The man was so money driven that he wouldn't think twice about leaving his job just for the sake of leeching on her.
After talking to her mom for a while, Harmonica decided to leave, promising to come visit her mom at least twice a week.
Her mother happily saw her out, taking her hands just like she did when she had told her she was three months pregnant. ''Next time you come, please bring my Grandson.'' She said.
Her husband had already called her earlier ranting about his job being at stake because Harmonica had to offend Lucas by choosing not to carry his baby.
That was how she got Harmonica's number.
She wasn't phased by her husband's words because she knew her daughter more than anyone in the world.
Harmonica hugged her tightly not wanting to let go. ''I will'' She whispered in her mother's ear and Grace smiled.
