''Oh my God I'm so sorry.'' Harmonica uttered apologetically, trying to get the drink off his white shirt. But instead, she made it worse.
''Oh it's fine.'' The stranger said, staring down at her amusedly. He took off his clothes and looked at her again. ''See? Good as new.'' He said and Harmonica smiled, looking up at him.
''Harmonica?'' Simon asked, shocked to see that it was her.
Harmonica had already forgotten his name but she knew he looked familiar.
''Do I know you?'' She asked.
''It's me. Simon. The guy you danced with at the club the other day.'' He said, smiling as he watched her try to recall who he was.
''Oh my God yes! You're a doctor?'' She asked, still looking at his doctor outfit that had gone from pure white to smudged black.
''In the day. Yhhh.'' He said, chuckling. ''And don't worry about this.'' He said, when he found she was still hung up on the stain.
'Let me buy you a drink.'' He said, taking her away from the door.
''Oh no thanks! I should be the one buying you a drink instead.'' Harmonica said, scratching the back of her head.
''Then you should.'' Simon said, chuckling at her shocked expression.
Harmonica laughed too, texting her assistant that she would be running late. She ordered for two more chilled coke and they sat by the window side, talking.
''So now you know I'm a doctor. I still don't know anything about you.'' Simon started, staring at her. He had been mesmerized by her since the moment she held out her hands to him.
Fate really had its way of doing things.
''Well…I'm an entrepreneur. I own an AI research firm.'' She said, sipping on her drink and Simon nodded.
''Is it okay with you if I use the restroom?'' She asked, staring at him awkwardly.
''You're not planning on bailing on me. Are you?'' Simon chuckled.
''Of course not.'' She said, picking her purse and heading to the washroom. She had also gotten a few of the drink spilled on her leg and she was getting uncomfortable because of it.
She got into one of the stalls, trying to get the stain off her pants with a tissue.
''Isn't he engaged to Rita stark?'' Harmonica heard and her ears naturally joined the conversation.
''I know right! She must be seething right now knowing that her man is a cheat'' Another girl said
''Let her seeth! Always going around trampling on the poor when she has happily been a placeholder for five years.'' The first girl answered and they both laughed.
Immediately Harmonica came out of the stall, they quickly shut their mouths, not wanting their conversation to get to Rita's ears.
Clearing their throats, they exited the washroom.
Harmonica was confused. If she heard clearly, those girls were talking about Rita and Lucas. Was he out cheating again?
She turned on her social media to go see the deets. Her eyes widened in shock as she saw the picture that got people talking.
It was a picture of Lucas and her kissing at the garage. Someone had taken a picture and it was now circulating.
Lucky for her, her face was not visible. Only the way her hair was tied uniquely showed.
Harmonica quickly put her hair down, smoothing it. Lucky for her, those girls didn't notice a thing.
Meanwhile, Rita was indeed seething.
She knew something was up when Lucas didn't return home last night. But she never expected that he would be out cheating on her with another girl.
She marched down the stairs angrily to see Lucas sitting at the dining table lost in thought.
''How dare you!'' She shouted, throwing her phone on the table so he could see the picture of him and another woman kissing on the internet.
Lucas raised a confused brow. ''So..?''
Rita snapped. She held him by the collar, tears dripping down her eyes.
''Haven't I put up with a lot?! Why are you doing this? You said you loved me. You even gave me a ring! It's been five years now and you haven't touched me. Why are you doing this to me?'' She cried, staring at Lucas who looked at her unapologetically.
''You ruined my marriage and you expect me to be happy with you?'' He asked, staring at her with disdain.
''I didn't ruin your marriage! I never sent you that CCTV footage!'' She shouted.
''What?!'' Lucas paused, staring at her in shock. She didn't send it to him?
After doing his research, the evidence led to her. What the fuck did she mean by she didn't sent it to him.
''I really didn't. I was also shocked when you spoke about it the other day because I was also sent a CCTV footage five years ago.'' She said, tears falling down her eyes as she picked up her phone.
It took her a while before she was able to bring the chats out. And Lucas stared in shock when he saw the video on her phone.
She had indeed been sent the CCTV footage too. It was sent to her hours after it was sent to him.
He had really been mistreating her for nothing!
Lucas got up, guilt laced in his eyes as he stared at Rita'a eyes that held nothing but pain.
She moved to the bar section, taking one of the fancy glasses and hitting it on the floor. It shattered and she picked up a shard, holding it in the air.
''I can prove to you that I'm not lying. I can prove to you that I really do love you.'' She said, wiping the lone tear that escaped her eye.
''Stop it!'' Lucas screamed, already predicting her nect move.
Before he could reach her, She pierced the glass into her hand and fell to the floor with a loud thud.
Blood dripped from the wound and Rita smiled as she saw Lucas looking worried for her.
It was the first time in five years that he was actually looking at her. Much less with so much emotions written on his face.
She smiled knowing that Lucas could never let go of her that easily.
