"Here, have some water," Lucian said.
"Thank you," Selena replied.
She took the water, drank some, and kept the rest.
"I want to use the bathroom," she said.
"Okay," he replied.
Selena quickly went inside. When she entered, she was mesmerized by how big it was.
"Wow, this is so big. It's even bigger than my whole apartment," she muttered.
When she came out, she saw Lucian standing near the door.
"Are you done?" he asked.
"Yes," she replied.
"Then let's go."
"Wait," Selena quickly said. "Where's my luggage?"
"It's in the car. I'll tell someone to drop it off at your house," he told her.
"Okay," Selena replied.
They both went downstairs.
As Selena looked around, she couldn't help but stare at the huge house.
"This house is so big. I might get lost in it," she muttered to herself.
Does he live here alone? she wondered.
They stepped outside and got into the car. Soon, the car drove off.
Lucian turned to her.
"Tomorrow, we'll be going to register for the marriage."
Selena was quiet for a moment. She knew this was going to happen sooner or later.
"Okay," she replied, looking out the window.
Lucian smiled.
"Don't you want to?" he asked.
Selena turned to him.
"I want to," she replied. "But my friend..."
"I'll take care of that."
"Huh?" Selena asked, thinking she had heard him wrong.
"I told you, you don't have to worry about that. I'll handle it because I don't want you staying far away while we're married."
Selena blushed.
"No, Selena. Thank you."
"You don't have to thank me. You're going to be my wife soon, so that's what I'm supposed to do."
Selena blushed again when he said the word wife.
After some time, they finally arrived.
The building in front of them was a huge mansion.
"This is a freaking mansion," Selena muttered to herself.
"Is this the place?" she asked curiously.
"Yes," Lucian replied.
They drove inside, where Lucian's mom was already waiting outside.
As soon as they got out of the car, she rushed toward them.
"Where is she?" she asked softly.
Then she turned toward Selena.
When she saw her, she looked surprised.
"Is this the girl you were talking about?"
"Yes, Mom," Lucian replied.
"Good afternoon, ma," Selena greeted respectfully.
"Oh, my dear. Come inside."
Selena shyly nodded.
Just before they went inside, Lucian's mom playfully hit him on the arm before leading them inside.
When they got inside, Grandpa and Grandma were sitting down.
They were both surprised when they saw Selena and Lucian walking in, but they didn't say anything at first.
"Grandmama, Grandpa," Selena greeted.
"Hey, dear," Grandma replied with a smile.
She liked the way Selena address her. Selena felt shy, but she walked over to meet her.
"Sit down, dear," Grandma said.
Selena sat down.
"How are you, dear?" Grandpa asked from where he was sitting opposite them.
"I'm fine," Selena replied nervously.
"Oh, dear. You don't have to be shy around us," Grandma said.
Selena smiled.
Just then, Wendy came downstairs. When she saw Lucian, she quickly walked over to greet him.
"Hello, brother."
"How are you, Wendy?"
"I'm fine," she replied.
"I've missed you so much," she said childishly.
Lucian smiled and rubbed her hair.
"Me too."
Then Wendy turned her attention toward Selena.
She greeted her, and Selena greeted her back.
"Wendy, this is Selena, Lucian's girlfriend," Grandma said.
Wendy raised her eyebrows slightly and smiled, but the smile didn't last long.
"And Selena, this is Wendy."
Wendy looked at Lucian,
"Really"
Henodded.
Just then, a servant came to inform them that the food was ready.
"Okay, well, let's go. We'll talk later," Grandma said.
Selena stood up, and the others did the same.
Selena was about to walk in another direction when Lucian gently pulled her toward him so she could sit beside him.
That was the seat Wendy normally used because she usually sat close to Lucian.
Wendy noticed but didn't say anything. She simply took another seat.
Grandma noticed when Lucian pulled Selena closer to him and smiled sweetly.
They all began eating.
At first, Selena felt uncomfortable, but she gradually relaxed.
When they were done eating, Grandpa spoke first.
"Selena, so how did you two start talking?"
"We just..." Selena began, but she didn't know what to say.
"We just started talking, that's all," Lucian replied.
Grandpa nodded.
"Oh, and I heard you work at his company as his assistant."
"Yes," Selena replied softly.
"So, when did you two start dating?" Grandma asked.
"Grandma," Lucian called out.
"Lucian, can you shut up? I wasn't talking to you," Grandma replied.
Selena couldn't help but smile.
"Two weeks ago," she answered.
"Two weeks ago?" Grandma repeated. "And Lucian, you didn't tell me about it."
Lucian frowned but said nothing.
Grandpa started. "Is he nice to you?"
Lucian was already fed up with all their questions.
"Grandpa, seriously.
Can you guys stop asking so many questions?"
Grandpa ignored him.
"I haven't even finished asking her," he continued.
"Grandpa, seriously. Do I look like a bully to you?"
"Who knows?" Grandpa replied jokingly.
He turned back to Selena.
"So, Selena, don't be scared. Just tell me."
"Yes, Grandpa. He's nice to me," Selena replied.
"Good. But if he ever gives you trouble, don't fail to let me know."
"Okay, Grandpa," Selena replied.
"Has he taken you on a romantic date yet," Lucian's mom finally said.
Before Selena could respond, Lucian interrupted.
"Didn't you say we're going to greet your parents?"
Selena turned to look at him and nodded.
"Yes."
"Then let's go," he said.
He stood up.
"But"...
"Let's go," Lucian said, cutting her off.
"Lucian, what is wrong with you?" Grandma called out.
But Lucian's mom held her hand.
"Leave him," she whispered.
Grandma looked at her but said nothing.
"You can come and greet us next time." Okay? Lucian mom said.
"Ok" Selena respond.
They took a few steps toward the door when Lucian's mom called out.
"Lucian, you better come back home today."
Lucian didn't stop. He simply continued walking.
"This boy is becoming something else," Grandma said.
"And it's all your fault!" she added, lightly hitting Lucian's mom.
"How is it my fault, Mom?" she asked.
