Chapter 21 - chapter 21_ are you still angry

She turned to look at him.

"Yes?"

"Why didn't you want to tell your parents about our relationship?"

Selena was speechless. She didn't know what to say.

"Is it because of him?" Lucian asked.

Selena looked at him in confusion before realizing who he was referring to.

But she didn't say anything. It wasn't because Mike was the reason.

It was because she knew Lucian thought she still liked him.

"Talk, Selena."

His voice was loud.

"Why are you shouting at me? I told you before that I have nothing to do with him."

"You need to stop talking to him," Lucian said.

"Why?" Selena asked.

"Because I said so," Lucian replied.

Selena stared at him for a moment. She couldn't believe how easily he could give her orders.

She didn't say anything else.

She got out of the car, clearly angry, but quickly calmed herself down because she didn't want Mia to start asking questions.

When she got inside, she saw Mia in the kitchen cleaning.

Selena quickly dropped her bag and walked toward her.

"Mia."

Mia was startled and almost jumped before turning around. When she saw that it was Selena, her face immediately brightened.

"Selena!".

She quickly went over and hugged her.

Selena smiled. She hadn't realized how much she had missed Mia until that moment.

"So, how was the trip?" Mia asked.

"Mia, please. It was a business trip."

"Whatever," Mia replied.

She looked at Selena for a moment before smiling.

"Okay, now go, go, go. Take your bath and come tell me what happened because I need to know why you're glowing."

"You must be seeing things," Selena replied.

Mia laughed.

Selena shook her head and walked toward her room.

"Just go!" Mia called after her.

Selena went to her room to take a bath.

As the water poured over her, she started remembering everything that had happened during the trip.

She closed her eyes for a moment.

"Oh my God, why am I even thinking about that?" she muttered, quickly snapping out of her thoughts.

But another thought crossed her mind.

Why is he so sweet sometimes and cold the next minute? She thought to herself.

She sighed.

There was something about Lucian she couldn't understand.

Meanwhile, Lucian was about to go upstairs when his mom called him.

"Lucian."

He turned around and saw his mom.

"Mom, why are you always everywhere?" Lucian asked.

His mom smiled but said nothing.

"So, how is Selena?" she asked.

"Mom, you just saw her today. Why are you still asking me?"

"Whatever," his mom replied.

Then she continued.

"You know you have to be nice to her. I don't think she knows much about relationships, so be patient with her.

And don't always make her angry with this mouth of yours."

Lucian sighed.

His mom always had something to say.

"And lastly, how is it going?" she asked with a smile.

Lucian finally answered.

"She agreed to get the marriage registered tomorrow."

His mom's jaw dropped.

"Really?"

She hadn't expected things to move this quickly.

Lucian nodded.

"Oh my God, that's great!" she exclaimed. "Um, does she need to come home tomorrow?"

"No, Mom. She'll be staying at her house," he replied.

"But why?" his mom asked in a disappointed tone.

"It's fine," she continued, realizing there was no point arguing about it.

Then she tapped him on the shoulder.

"I'm so happy for you."

Lucian rolled his eyes.

"Mom, you're being so dramatic."

His mom laughed as he turned and went upstairs to his room.

Meanwhile, when Selena was done with her bath, she picked up her phone.

It rang, and she answered.

"Selena, you didn't send me your address."

It was Mike.

"Oh my God, I totally forgot," she told him.

"It's fine. I can come by tomorrow."

"All right, no problem."

"But you have to give me your address this time around."

"Sure," Selena replied.

She typed her address and sent it to him.

A few moments later, she received a notification from Lucian.

What are you doing now?

Selena replied with a question mark.

She was still a little angry about the way he had been acting, but she didn't want to say anything.

Are you still angry? another message popped up.

Selena smiled.

Why is he so concerned now? Gosh, he's so hard to understand.

"No," she replied.

On the other side, Lucian didn't know what else to say, so he stopped texting.

Selena stared at the screen for a few seconds before putting her phone down.

She couldn't help but smile a little.

When Selena finally put her phone down, she went to meet Mia, who was still in the kitchen cleaning.

"Let me help you," she offered.

"No, no, no. Don't bother," Mia said.

Then she looked at Selena closely.

"Selena, tell me the reason you're glowing."

"Seriously, Mia? I don't know what you're talking about."

"Fine, okay."

Mia paused before asking,

"Did you two get closer?"

Her eyes were full of expectation.

Selena looked away shyly. She didn't know whether she should tell her.

Mia stopped what she was doing and lightly hit Selena.

"Girl, you have to tell me!"

Selena looked at her.

"Well, we almost..."

"Ah! Selena! Are you serious?"

"Mia, can you stop shouting?"

"Oh, I won't say anything. Okay, okay, fine. Go on," Mia said.

"I wasn't ready, so I he stopped."

Mia looked at her for a moment before smiling.

"Why are you so cruel, Selena?" she teased.

Selena rolled her eyes.

"So, what did he say?" Mia couldn't help but ask.

"He said if we get married, then he won't take no for an answer," Selena replied.

Mia laughed.

"Ooh, someone is going to have sleepless nights in the coming days."

"Mia, stop. Honestly, I'm not ready," Selena replied.

"Why are you so innocent?" Mia teased.

Selena rolled her eyes and walked toward her room.

"I'm going to sleep."

She turned around and went into her room, but she could still hear Mia laughing behind her.

Meanwhile, Lucian was about to go to sleep when a call came in.

It was Adrian.

"Hey, dude. What's up?" Lucian answered.

"I'll be coming back tomorrow," Adrian said.

"Wow, that's great. I thought you weren't going to come back again."

Adrian laughed.

"It's been so busy here that I haven't had the chance to talk to you."

"What?" Lucian replied when he noticed Adrian's voice had suddenly become serious.

"Ariana called me."

Lucian let out a small laugh.

"What does she want?" he asked.

"She keeps asking me to give her your contact. And, bro, you should really talk to her because she's all over my neck," Adrian complained.

Lucian's expression changed slightly.

"I don't have any business with her. Sort it out yourself," Lucian said.

"Bro, I'm serious. She's not going to stop."
