The truck is the beginning for many who are taken from one world to another. It is sudden, merciless, and final. One moment, life continues as normal. The next, fate strikes—an unstoppable force appearing without warning, ending everything familiar.
It is not a choice, nor a warning. It is the catalyst that separates the world you know from the one you are about to face. And for Adrian and his classmates, that moment was about to come.
No one in the world thinks about dying to a truck. Not once. Unless you're an Otaku.
Adrian wasn't an otaku, but he had a nagging feeling that something terrible was about to happen. Being on a school trip only made that feeling grow stronger.
The trip's destination wasn't ominous—it was a museum. I didn't think dinosaur bones would suddenly come to life and chomp everyone's heads off. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, honestly.
The day itself went as ordinary as it could. Adrian with his classmates had a few laughs in the museum but that was it. But the feeling within Adrian only grew. Everyone had fun despite it being called an 'Educational trip'
After a whole day of gallivanting with his classmates, the only thing Adrian could think was, 'This fucking feeling hasn't gone away. Not one bit.'
All 24 students—Adrian's classmates—boarded the bus they had arrived in. Darkness had already fallen; it was past seven. That's when Adrian's ominous feeling finally made itself known.
A truck appeared behind the students, blaring its horn and shining its headlights directly at them.
The bus driver waved his hand toward the left side of the road—it was a three-lane, one-way street. From the way he gestured, it was clear to everyone that the truck driver had seen it… and ignored it.
The truck kept honking, relentless. Then, without warning, it decided to use force—it rammed straight into the back of the bus.
Adrian realized that this was the bad feeling he had been experiencing all day. He wasn't a prophet or anything like that, but sometimes a person just wakes up knowing that something major is about to happen.
People started panicking. Even the guys who called themselves bullies, the ones who thought they had balls of steel, were now squealing like pigs.
I mean, what were they supposed to do? They were faced with the real chance of dying. And it's not like any of them were Superman.
The truck kept ramming the bus, relentless. And as if to set the mood, rain began to pour—perfect weather for death, right?
This continued until they reached a bridge, and then the truck suddenly disappeared. Relief washed over the students. But did any of this make sense? Even if the truck driver had been drunk, would they just vanish like that?
They all sighed, relief washing over them—until a blinding light appeared at the front of the bus. Amidst the blinding light, Adrian stood and moved straight toward a girl who looked painstakingly like him. Fear was written all over her—her skin pale as death. It was his twin sister, Alice.
Adrian hugged her tightly, knowing exactly what was about to happen. Alice clung to him, tears streaming down her face. Then the truck honked, and everyone screamed—everyone except Adrian. Among the students, he alone had the balls of steel—no, of titanium.
"I love you, brother," she whispered. It was clear who the older sibling was. It was evident who the oldest between the twins was.
"I love you too, sister," he replied, a smile on his face, not a single trace of fear in him.
And then—
BAM!
BOOM!
Explosions erupted around the scene. I mean… do most isekai cliches even start like this? Don't trucks usually just run you over, and you die within moments—seconds?
Flames engulfed the scene. It was chaotic… yet strangely beautiful.
The bus was reduced to nothing but ashes. How could a collision cause this much destruction? I mean, yes, it was a bus and a truck, but… does it really make sense for it to end like this?
From Adrian's point of view, everything went pitch black. 'Is this the end?' he wondered. 'Do people just die like this, without even knowing why?'
He didn't believe in fate or cheap endings, but if he were ever reborn, he swore he would hunt down everyone who planned this.
He didn't care whether they called themselves good or holy—'I WILL KILL THEM ALL COLD—BLOODEDLY!!!'
And then—a flash. A bright, blinding white light. Is this heaven? Adrian wondered, shielding his eyes from the intensity.
When the light finally subsided, he saw himself standing on an altar… along with his classmates.
"Huh… what's going on?" one of the students asked.
"Are we dead? We're on an altar."
"Yeah, no shit, Sherlock," said an arrogant-looking boy—who, mind you, had been screaming just moments ago.
The altar was surrounded by people in white robes, each adorned with a cross. They were all women—beautiful, yet undeniably unsettling.
"Welcome, otherworlders!"
A woman stepped forward, wearing a robe that revealed her thighs. Her blonde hair framed sharp features, and her red eyes burned with authority. It was clear she was the one in charge.
"My name is Arielle," the woman said, her voice calm yet commanding. "I am the Goddess of Life."
She extended her hand gracefully, gesturing toward the other robed women surrounding the altar.
"And we," she continued, "are the ones who have summoned you here. We ask that you listen to us carefully."
