Chapter 1 - One and next

Episode 1: The Labyrinth of Suffering and the Face Behind the Mask

The room was stuffy. The iron scent of curdled blood filled Luna's sense of smell. He tried to open his eyes, but his eyelids felt as heavy as concrete. His last memory was the shrill laughter of the female students at Yamazaki High School and the blow of a blunt object that cracked his ribs.

"This must be a dream," whispered Luna to herself. "I just need to wake up. Wake up, Luna! Wake up!"

However, when his eyes actually opened, he was not in a white and clean hospital ward.

Field of Wailing

Luna stood on a stretch of land made not of sand, but of blackened bone powder. The sky above was devoid of stars; only wisps of deep purple clouds moved slowly like rotting flesh.

In the distance, he saw countless rows of wooden pillars. On each pillar, there were humans nailed—souls who were still alive but continued to be flayed by small creatures with many arms. The sound of their screams was no longer human voices, but a static shrill that tormented the ears.

Luna started running. His bare feet stepped on sharp shards that felt very real. The pain penetrated to the marrow, destroying his belief that this was just a dream.

"If this is a dream, why doesn't this pain go away?!" he screamed in his heart.

Eternal Slavery

He arrived at a steep valley. Below, thousands of souls in torn school uniforms—the same uniforms as his own—were dragging hot lumps of coal with their bare hands. They were scholarship students before Luna was "disappeared".

Their backs were whipped by a three meter tall executioner whose head was shaped like a buffalo skull. Every time the whip landed, fragments of their souls flew into the air, turning into golden grains that then disappeared into a hole of light in the sky—returning to the human world to fill the bank accounts of the rich Yamazaki families.

Luna fell to her knees. He saw a girl he recognized in an old school photo, now her eyes had been sewn shut, continuing to dig in the ground non-stop while muttering inaudible prayers. Tragic. Terrifying. It is a wealth factory built on eternal suffering.

The New Sacrifice's Turn

Suddenly, a black chain shot out of the darkness and wrapped around Luna's neck. He was dragged roughly, his throat constricted, his face rubbing against the sharp bone ground. He was led to an altar surrounded by a pool of thick, turbulent black liquid.

The one-eyed creatures began to sharpen the ceremonial knives. Luna cried, her tears fell to the ground, but the tears immediately evaporated into red smoke. At this point, Luna really gave up. He closed his eyes, waiting for the final pain that would end his existence.

The Silence of the Ruler

Suddenly, the cacophony of screams stopped. The silence that was created was much more frightening than the sound of the screams earlier. An incredible cold struck, freezing the black liquid in the pool.

A large shadow covered Luna's body. That figure, the man who had been haunting him in the real world, was standing there. His pitch black royal robe fluttered without any wind. The energy pressure caused the executioners to immediately crumble into dust.

The man knelt beside Luna. His pale hand touched Luna's chin, forcing the girl to look at him.

Luna was shaking violently, but when the man slowly took off part of her cracked Hannya mask, Luna fell silent. The face that appeared was not the face of a monster. It was the face of a young man with a defined jawline and skin as white as marble. However, his eyes... those eyes were a well of suffering. In it, Luna saw millions of repressed anger and sadness that had been frozen for centuries.

The man didn't speak with his mouth, but his voice echoed directly in Luna's soul:

"They beat you until you died in that world... so they could continue to live in luxury. Do you want to go back, or do you want to be part of this pile of bones, Luna Stars?"

Luna looked at the beautiful face that was crushed by the burden of emotions, and for the first time, the desire for revenge began to overcome her fear.

Episode 2: Endless Void and the Labyrinth of Memories

Luna loses the concept of time. In the Lower Realm, no sun rises or sets; there were only wisps of static copper clouds and a chill that gnawed at his sanity. Days, weeks, or maybe months had passed—he didn't know for sure. What he knows is that his body in the real world is just a pile of machine-assisted flesh, while here, he is a silent witness to unspeakable suffering.

Valley of Silence and Forest of Spirits

Luna is forced to walk through the Forest of Souls, where the trees are made of stiff, blackened human hands, towering towards the dead sky. Every time the wind blew, the hands rubbed against each other, creating heart-rending crying sounds.

He saw "empty" souls—those who had lost memory of who they were in the human world. They walked aimlessly, their eyes hollow, constantly digging in the dirt looking for pieces of memory that had been lost. Luna felt like her soul was starting to wear out. He began to forget the smell of rain in Jakarta, the sound of his father's laughter, and the color of the blue sky.

"Don't let yourself forget," Kuga's voice vibrated in his mind, appearing suddenly like a bolt of lightning amidst the silence. "Once you forget your name, you will become the roots of these trees forever."

Tragic Scene: Banquet of the Dark Lords

One deep night, Kuga took Luna to a giant hall floating above an abyss of blue fire. There, luxuriously dressed but ruined-faced creatures were feasting. On the long table, it is not food that is served, but a mass of human emotions: pain, despair, and betrayal.

Luna was forced to look at a large mirror in the middle of the hall. The mirror shows the current situation at Yamazaki High School. She saw the girls who beat her laughing at a dance party, wearing expensive dresses paid for by the suffering of the souls around Luna. He saw them toasting, celebrating the "disappearance" of Luna who they considered a nuisance.

The physical pain that Luna felt when she was beaten a year ago was nothing compared to the pain of seeing them live happily despite their suffering. Luna shouted, but her voice was drowned out by the raucous laughter of the creatures in the hall.

Electrifying Touch

In the midst of despair, Kuga approached. He stood behind Luna, his large shadow covering the girl's small body. Kuga took off his mask completely this time. Her beautiful face stood out in stark contrast to the backdrop of this terrible world.

He directed Luna's hand towards the mirror.

"Look at them, Luna. They feel safe because they think you are dead. They don't know that every drop of your tears here, will become a fire that burns them there."

Luna looked into Kuga's eyes. He no longer saw monsters. He saw the figure of a ruler who was tired of this cruelty, a figure who had seen too many sacrifices pass. In the beauty of Kuga's face, which was full of anger and sadness, Luna felt a strange connection—an intertwined fate.

A Dream Too Real

Often, Luna wakes up in a luxurious room at Kuga's residence which feels very real. He could feel the silky texture of his clothes, the smell of ancient burning incense, and the coolness of the marble floor. However, when he looked out the window, he again saw thousands of people being tortured.

He began to wonder, is the human world full of traffic jams in Jakarta and the cruelty of Yamazaki High School a dream, and this underworld the real reality? His fear slowly turned into something darker: The desire to destroy.

Luna no longer wanted to wake up. He wanted to get up. Not as a victim, but as a disaster for those who had sent him to this hell.

Episode 3: Bloody Message from the Underworld

The atmosphere at Kuga's residence became very tense. The air seemed to freeze, and the shadows on the walls began to creep like hungry living creatures. Kuga stood in front of Luna, her beautiful face full of anger now radiated an aura of darkness so thick that it made it difficult for Luna to breathe.

Agreement on the Verge of Return

Kuga no longer touches Luna gently. She gripped Luna's shoulders, her pale nails providing a cold burning sensation on Luna's skin.

"Your time here is enough," Kuga's voice echoed, not a whisper, but a command that shook the foundations of the underworld. "A soul that stays here too long will rot, and I don't need a carcass. I need witnesses."

Kuga brought his face closer to Luna's ear. His breath didn't feel like air, but rather like the dust of an ancient tomb.

"I will send you back. But you will not return empty-handed. You will carry a piece of me in your veins. Every beat of your heart will be a reminder to them that hell is real, and its doors are wide open."

"Message" Planting Ritual

Kuga drew a silver dagger whose blade was engraved with the cries of sacrificed souls. Without hesitation, he scratched his own palm, letting a thick black liquid—the blood of the ruler—drop out. He then pressed the bloody palm to Luna's chest, right above her heart.

Luna screamed. It felt like his heart was being doused with acid. He saw black shadows creeping under his skin, forming dark veins that ran down his neck and face. It was a "Bloody Message"—a curse and a power that would activate when Luna woke up.

"Bring this pain, Luna Stars," Kuga hissed. "Be a mirror for them. Show the Yamazaki world that the victim they threw away has transformed into a predator."

Tragic Moments of Awakening

Kuga then pushed Luna towards the abyss of light that appeared in the middle of the hall. When Luna fell, she saw Kuga put his scary Hannya mask back on. The figure stood straight, looking at Luna's departure with a gaze that was difficult to interpret - between a thirst for destruction and eternal loneliness.

In a split second, the sensation of falling turned into excruciating pain throughout his body.

At Yamazaki High School Hospital – Real World:

The sound of the heart monitor which had sounded flat (flatline) suddenly exploded with a very fast beat. The nurses ran into Luna's room, which had been quiet for a year.

Suddenly, all the glass in the room cracked. The temperature in the room dropped so drastically that the doctors' breath produced moisture. Luna Stars, who had been standing still for a year, suddenly opened her eyes.

However, his eyes were no longer soft hazel brown. His pupils became completely dark, and from the corners of his eyes, pitch-black tears flowed out—just like the black liquid in the pool of the Lower Realm.

Terror in the VIP Room

Shortly after Luna regained consciousness, a terrible phenomenon occurred. On the clean white walls of the hospital room, writing began to appear from the black liquid that was seeping out:

"I SAW YOU IN THERE."

One of the nurses who used to bully Luna when she was still at school—and now works at the hospital—came in to check. As soon as her eyes met Luna's, the nurse immediately screamed hysterically. He saw the shadow of Kuga standing right behind Luna's bed, holding a mask dripping with blood.

Luna didn't speak. He only smiled faintly—a smile that contained mounting anger and a year of suffering in hell.

Episode 4: The Return of the Undead

The hallways of Yamazaki Academy were still as magnificent as ever, but to Luna, they looked like cheap decorations covering up the rot. A year after the bloody incident, the school had erased all traces of him. They thought Luna Stars was just trash that had been thrown away and forgotten.

An Eerie Presence

The doors to class 11-A, the class for the most powerful elites, slowly opened. The sound of the door scraping sounded very loud, silencing the boisterous laughter in the room.

Luna stepped in.

He no longer wore a shabby uniform full of blood stains. He wore closed black clothes that contrasted with his tan skin which now looked paler, almost like marble. His thick black hair was left loose, covering a small portion of the fine dark veins that occasionally pulsed on his neck—marks of Kuga's "touch".

His footsteps made no sound. The atmosphere in the classroom suddenly changed. The temperature dropped drastically until the students started hugging themselves because they were cold.

Real Fear

Airi, the group leader who previously beat Luna, froze. The expensive coffee cup in his hand fell off and shattered into pieces on the floor. Her beautiful face turned deathly pale, her eyes bulging in disbelief.

"Lu... Luna?" Airi whispered in a trembling voice. "You... you should be dead. You're still in a coma!"

Luna didn't answer. He walked slowly towards his chair which had often been scribbled with harsh words. Now, that chair is empty, considered a cursed place. Luna sat there, her movements very graceful but stiff, like a porcelain doll with a soul.

He looked at Airi and her friends one by one. When Luna's eyes which now had a dark glint met theirs, the girls gasped. They do not see humans; they saw the reflection of the Wailing Valley in Luna's pupils.

Messages that Start Talking

"I didn't come back alone," Luna's voice was low, hoarse, but echoed in every corner of the room as if thousands of magical voices were speaking with her.

Suddenly, on the white board at the front of the classroom, black liquid began to seep from between the frames. The liquid formed the shadow of thin hands trying to get out of the board. The students screamed hysterically, running to the corners of the room.

Luna remained calm. He took Airi's pen which had been left on the table. The moment he touched it, the pen immediately turned black and crumbled into bone dust.

"I also send my greetings to you," continued Luna, looking at Airi who was now slumped on the floor. "He said... beds for you have been prepared down there. Right next to the pillars of the sacrifices you send every year."

Psychological Terror

Airi tried to scream for help, but her voice was lost. In his eyes, the figure at the front of the class was no longer Luna. She saw the shadow of a giant man wearing a Hannya mask standing right behind Luna, holding the girl's shoulder protectively. The figure slowly removed his mask, revealing a beautiful face full of anger that Luna had seen in the underworld.

The horror was so real that Airi started crawling backwards, peeing her pants in extreme fear. For him, the nightmare from a year ago had just started again, but this time, the victim was not Luna.

Luna stood up, walked over to Airi who was shaking. He leaned over, whispering something that only Airi could hear:

"Every time you close your eyes, you will see what I saw during this year. Welcome to my hell, Airi."
